Against the Royals is the important part of the description. Even though right-handed hitters have feasted on Willis these last few years, the Royals kept lefty-swingers David DeJesus, Scott Podsednik, Rick Ankiel and even Chris Getz in their lineup. With four strikeouts and two walks allowed, Willis was OK, in large part because he induced a couple of inning-ending double plays. A breeze blowing in also saved him on what normally would have been a solo homer off the bat of Billy Butler in the sixth. | ||||||
