Willie Bloomquist doubled home both of the Diamondbacks' runs in the eighth inning of their 5-2, 10-inning loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.
Bloomquist finished his night 1-for-5. The RBI were his first since June 22, and give him 11 on the year. Through his first 181 plate appearances, he is the owner of a .271/.318/.343 triple slash.

Will Bloomquist went 1-for-4 with his ninth stolen base, as the Diamondbacks beat the Brewers 7-3 on Tuesday.
Starting in place of Stephen Drew for the second time in four games, Bloomquist has become a fairly dependable back-up option for Arizona manager Kirk Gibson. In fact, he has hit safely in 10 of his last 13 games.

Willie Bloomquist (hamstring) is likely to be activated from the disabled list before Wednesday's game.

Fri May 13 201122:23Bloomquist (hammy) not close to return
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Friday that Willie Bloomquist's right hamstring hasn't improved in recent days.
"He doesn't feel like he can be totally explosive," said Gibson. Bloomquist had been playing in extended spring training, but will now take a few days off before being reevaluated. The veteran utility man has been sidelined since April 21.

Mon Apr 25 201118:04D'Backs lose versatile Bloomquist to DL
Diamondbacks placed infielder-outfielder Willie Bloomquist on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 22, with a strained hamstring.
Bloomquist said he was ready to play Saturday, but he apparently had some sort of setback between then and now. That's not such a bad thing, as he had cooled off in a big way offensively. Bloomquist's absence will give Gerardo Parra's value a boost, as he should play regularly in left field now.

Sat Apr 23 201111:48Willie Bloomquist 'ready to go'
Though Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson says he's "ready to go," Willie Bloomquist (hamstring) is sitting out again Saturday.
The veteran has been dealing with mild hamstring soreness lately, but it's probably been his poor hitting of late as much as anything that's kept him out of the lineup. He'll be available off the bench.

Thu Apr 21 201110:15Bloomquist out of Thursday's lineup
Willie Bloomquist is not in Thursday's lineup against the Reds.
Gerardo Parra will start in left field and bat seventh against Mike Leake. Bloomquist is batting just .214 over his last six games, so we hope you weren't sold a bill of goods by his hot start.

Wed Apr 6 201117:08D'Backs' Bloomquist steals fifth base
Willie Bloomquist went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a steal Wednesday versus the Cubs.
Filling in for Stephen Drew at shortstop, Bloomquist has stolen five bases in five games for the Diamondbacks. He's already more than halfway to last year's total of eight in 83 games with the Royals and Reds. If he keeps hitting, manager Kirk Gibson will surely look for ways to keep him in the lineup after Drew returns, probably at third base and in left field. It won't last for much longer, though.

Tue Jan 18 201120:25D-Backs finalize contract with Bloomquist
Diamondbacks signed INF-OF Willie Bloomquist to a one-year, $1.05 million contract with a mutual option for 2012.
Just when you thought the D-Backs had already maxed out on scrappiness. Bloomquist, 33, batted .267/.299/.380 with three home runs and 17 RBI in 199 plate appearances between the Royals and Reds last season. He offers some speed and versatility, but both are less likely to be assets of his game as he gets up there in age.
Thu Jan 13 201110:56D-Backs sign Bloomquist to 1-year deal
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Diamondbacks have signed utilityman Willie Bloomquist to a one-year, $1.05 million contract with a mutual option for 2012.
Way to upstage Geoff Blum. Of course, Bloomquist is a guy that can play all over the infield and outfield, but doesn't field any position particularly well. The 33-year-old still has decent speed, but he batted just .267/.299/.380 with three home runs and 17 RBI in 199 plate appearances between the Royals and Reds last season. He should be the last man off the bench for the D-Backs this season.

Wed Jan 12 201122:15D'Backs 'trying for' utilityman Bloomquist
According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Diamondbacks are "trying for" free agent utilityman Willie Bloomquist.
Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers sure does love his aging and unproductive utility guys. Bloomquist batted just .267 with a brutal 679 OPS last season in 187 at-bats between the Royals and Reds. He should come cheap, but the 33-year-old is far from a high impact acquisition.

Fri Nov 12 201016:48Nats looking to strengthen bench
The Nationals want to strengthen their bench this offseason, and Willie Bloomquist, Aaron Miles and Miguel Cairo are on their radar.
Well, they would certainly add age and versatility, but it's debatable whether anyone in this group would really "strengthen" the bench. Cairo is coming off a nice year and Bloomquist offers some speed, but Miles is utterly useless.

Mon Sep 13 201014:43Reds acquire Willie Bloomquist from Royals
Reds acquired INF-OF Willie Bloomquist from the Royals for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Bloomquist is batting .265/.296/.388 with three home runs and 17 RBI in 170 at-bats this season. The 32-year-old will not be eligible for the playoffs, but he's a useful utility man, capable of playing all over the diamond.

Wed Aug 25 201017:24Bloomquist's homer fuels Royals
Willie Bloomquist hit a go-ahead homer in the top of the 12th as the Royals edged the Tigers 4-3 on Wednesday.
Bloomquist also had a double in his first ever start as a No. 3 hitter. It was the seventh time in his career that he's managed multiple extra-base hits. Incredibly, all three times it's happened in the last five years, the Tigers have been the opponent. He homered and tripled versus Detroit on July 6, 2009 and tripled and doubled against the Tigers on Sept. 15, 2009.
