Guillen indicated that Bonifacio could wind up having surgery on his right knee. "If you need to go in, clean it up, do it right now, and I'll see you in spring training," Guillen said. Bonifacio has been limited to just 64 games this season due to thumb and knee problems.

He's back in the lineup Sunday, batting first and playing center field, the position he'll play regularly down the stretch. Sat Aug 18 201210:10Bonifacio (thumb) moving back to outfield
Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen confirmed that Emilio Bonifacio (thumb) will be used exclusively in centerfield when he returns from the disabled list.
Bonifacio will move back to the outfield instead of second base for the remainder of the season. The Marlins believe the change of position will lessen his chances of re-injury, but the reality is that they need him to replace their current platoon of Bryan Petersen and Austin Kearns.

Mon Jul 23 201221:50Emilio Bonifacio goes deep
Making just his third start of the season at second base, Emilio Bonifacio singled and launched his first homer of the year in Monday's 2-1 win over the Braves.
He now has a hit in nine of his last 10 games. Bonifacio should be the regular second baseman in Miami after Omar Infante's departure, which will result in him adding another position of eligibility.

Sun Jul 15 201216:13Bonifacio doubles in loss to Nationals
Emilio Bonifacio doubled, just his fifth extra-base hit of the season, in Sunday's loss to Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals.
Bonifacio finished the day 1-for-3 plus a walk, and is now 2-for-9 with three walks and a stolen base in his three contests since coming off the DL. Though he's played in just 42 games on the year, he still ranks sixth in the Major Leagues with 21 stolen bases on the year, and will undoubtedly have a large fantasy impact in the second half of the season.

Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez will remain at the top of the order.
