Scott Olsen is on the way back and Luis Atilano is pitching better, so Martin might not stick around for much longer. He has a 2.31 ERA in his two starts, but he's allowed four unearned runs. Kevin Cash and Lance Berkman homered off him today. |

And Adam Kennedy error got the ball rolling with two outs in the first. Chase Headley went on to single, and Nick Hundley followed that with a three-run homer. Martin allowed just four hits on the night, and he struck out five while walking one. Still, the Nats were never able to overcome the early deficit. Martin figures to make one more start before Scott Olsen is ready to return. |

Martin will make a start with Scott Olsen on the disabled list. The 27-year-old righty was 2-1 with a 2.97 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP in six starts for Triple-A Syracuse. |

Matt Chico was also under consideration for the start. Martin, 27, hasn't appeared in the big leagues this season, but was 5-4 with a 4.44 ERA over 15 starts with the Nats in 2009. He is 2-1 with a 2.97 ERA over six starts with Triple-A Syracuse this seson. |
