Sun Jul 29 2012 | 03:56 | Weeks drives in lone run in loss to Nationals |
Rickie Weeks went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Saturday's loss to the Nationals. |
Weeks has been swinging a relatively hot stick in the month of July, going 24-for-82 (.293) with four homers and 13 RBI over 23 games. While his .207 average is still very unsightly, it's a tremendous improvement over the .152 that he bottomed out on at age 28. |

Mon May 14 2012 | 18:49 | Rickie Weeks (hand) could return Tuesday |
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke indicated that Rickie Weeks (hand) could return to the lineup as soon as Tuesday. |
"He probably wanted to play today but he's not 100 percent," said Roenicke. "He may not be 100 percent tomorrow but he's going to be pretty close. I thought one more day, just talking with (trainer) Dan Wright, is a better way to do it." Weeks hasn't played since being hit on the left wrist with a pitch on Friday, but X-rays came back negative and he was able to take some swings in the indoor cage Monday. Consider him day-to-day. |

Sun May 13 2012 | 09:14 | Rickie Weeks could sit out more games |
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Rickie Weeks (hand) is "pretty sore" and isn't sure when he'll return to the lineup. |
An X-ray on Weeks' hand came back clean, but he sat out Saturday, and it's not clear when he'll be back in there. "If he's out of the lineup, he's pretty sore," said Roenicke. "So, we'll see what happens tomorrow. We're fortunate that at least, right now, there's no break. Sometimes, there's a little hairline (crack) there later. But right now, we're pretty fortunate." Roenicke added that he's willing to play a man short for a few days, but "if you start getting to a week like with (Carlos) Gomez (and his strained hamstring), then it's time where you need to do something." |

According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, initial X-Rays to Rickie Weeks' left wrist came back negative. |
The Brewers are listing him as day-to-day. Weeks was hit by a 96 mph fastball in Friday's game against the Cubs, but appears to have avoided a serious injury. Edwin Maysonet and Taylor Green figure to benefit in the short-term, though Weeks isn't likely to require a DL stint. |

Fri Mar 16 2012 | 14:49 | Brewers looking for MI help |
Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Brewers are looking for a middle infielder capable of playing semi-regularly. |
Olney doesn't list any names, but the Brew Crew are evidently concerned about potential injuries with Rickie Weeks and Alex Gonzalez. They have Cesar Izturis, but apparently aren't keen on his ability to play for long stretches at a time. |

Thu Mar 8 2012 | 10:01 | Weeks (shoulder) to start at second base Thu. |
Rickie Weeks (shoulder) will start at second base in Thursday's Cactus League game. |
Weeks has served as the team's designated hitter in each of the past three games due to shoulder tightness, but he is apparently over the malady. Now he can turn his focus back to getting his left ankle to full strength prior to Opening Day. |

Rickie Weeks (shoulder) could return to the field on Thursday. |
The Brewers are hoping to take stress off Weeks' right shoulder, so he will serve as the designated hitter for the third straight day Wednesday. It isn't expected to be a lingering issue and he should have plenty of time to get his left ankle back 100 percent before Opening Day. |

Tue Mar 6 2012 | 00:48 | Weeks (shoulder) returns to Brewers' lineup |
Rickie Weeks (shoulder) went 1-for-3 as the designated hitter in his return to the lineup Monday against the Giants. |
The Brewers won 7-3 and Weeks led off the game with a double. The 29-year-old second baseman was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to tightness in his right shoulder, but getting his left ankle back to 100 percent is the bigger issue. |

Sun Mar 4 2012 | 14:51 | Rickie Weeks dealing with shoulder tightness |
Rickie Weeks was scratched from Sunday's Cactus League game due to tightness in his right shoulder. |
The injury is considered minor, as Weeks wanted to remain in the lineup. The second baseman said recently that his left ankle, which was a big issue for him down the stretch last year even after he returned, is at about 95 percent, but it appears to still be a bigger problem for him than the shoulder. Brooks Conrad took Weeks' spot in the lineup and at second base. |

Sun Mar 4 2012 | 09:46 | Rickie Weeks likely to bat leadoff |
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke indicated Saturday that he's likely to bat Rickie Weeks leadoff and Corey Hart fifth this season. |
It's the spots they were in for Saturday's intrasquad game. "I think I'll probably stay with this for a while to see that it's where we should be with it," Roenicke said. "It's not that I need to see how it works, because I saw it work last year. But I had a conversation with both Corey and Rickie, and I think these are the spots they want to be in, also." Weeks will score more runs in the No. 1 spot, but he hasn't been much of a basestealer the last two years, and that probably won't change since he's coming back from a significant ankle injury. |

Thu Feb 23 2012 | 15:39 | Weeks estimates ankle is at about 95 percent |
Rickie Weeks told Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel on Thursday that his left ankle is at about 95 percent. |
Weeks severely sprained his left ankle last July and though he returned for the playoffs, it was clear he wasn't fully recovered. He's not 100 percent yet, but he's confident he'll get there by the end of spring training. The 29-year-old batted .269/.350/.468 with 20 homers, 49 RBI, nine stolen bases and an .818 OPS over 118 games last season and should be considered a top-10 second baseman in mixed fantasy leagues. |

Sun Jan 29 2012 | 13:22 | Rickie Weeks (ankle) still not 100 percent |
Rickie Weeks said he's still not 100 percent recovered from his ankle injury but is "very close." |
"I wouldn't say its 100% but it's very close," Weeks said. "I'm still doing rehab back home." The second baseman suffered a severe ankle sprain in late July, and although he returned late in the year, it was clear he wasn't healthy. It's a tad concerning that he's still not 100 percent, but it sounds like he's almost there. The Brewers will need his production this year without Prince Fielder and the likely absence of Ryan Braun for 50 games. |
