Nick Johnson (back) drew a pinch-hit walk in the ninth inning against the Orioles on Tuesday.
It was his first appearance in a game since last Friday. It's a positive development, but Yankees manager Joe Girardi isn't ready to say if he'll be in the starting lineup on Wednesday.

Nick Johnson homered, doubled and walked twice Tuesday versus the Angels.
Johnson was 3-for-22 going into the day, but the Yankees have stuck with him in the No. 2 spot. Of course, even with the .136 average, he had a .367 OBP, thanks to the seven walks in six games.

Johnson gave "Yankees Universe" a scare on Friday afternoon when he fouled a pitch off his right knee during a spring game. He's apparently fine, though, and is batting atop a dangerous lineup in New York.
