An intriguing prospect after bludgeoning the ball to the tune of .354/.430/.554 in the hitter-friendly Pacific League last season, Cowgill was much less fierce in the bigs, hitting just .239/.300/.304 across 100 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks. Cowgill is a .299/.383/.490 hitter in the minor leagues, but he flew under the radar as a prospect until this past season. The 25-year-old made his major-league debut in late-July and batted .239/.300/.304 with one home run, nine RBI, four stolen bases and a .604 OPS over 100 plate appearances. Checking in at 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, the big question is whether he'll actually hit for power in the big leagues. He'll likely start in Oakland's outfield to begin the season, which makes him worth watching in AL-only leagues, but many wonder if he'll be a fourth outfielder in the long run. | ||||||
