Mon Mar 12 201219:41Cowgill has three-hit day
Collin Cowgill went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, RBI, walk and run scored in Monday's blowout win over the White Sox.
A sorely needed afternoon for Cowgill, who had just one extra-base hit through his first 22 Cactus League at-bats. An intriguing prospect after bludgeoning the ball to the tune of .354/.430/.554 in the hitter-friendly Pacific League last season, Cowgill was much less fierce in the bigs, hitting just .239/.300/.304 across 100 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks. Not guaranteed regular playing time in Oakland's crowded outfield, Cowgill isn't worth consideration in even exceptionally deep mixed leagues.

Fri Dec 9 201120:25A's acquire OF Cowgill in Cahill deal
Athletics acquired OF Collin Cowgill and RHPs Jarrod Parker and Ryan Cook from the Diamondbacks for RHP Trevor Cahill, LHP Craig Breslow and cash considerations.
Cowgill is a .299/.383/.490 hitter in the minor leagues, but he flew under the radar as a prospect until this past season. The 25-year-old made his major-league debut in late-July and batted .239/.300/.304 with one home run, nine RBI, four stolen bases and a .604 OPS over 100 plate appearances. Checking in at 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, the big question is whether he'll actually hit for power in the big leagues. He'll likely start in Oakland's outfield to begin the season, which makes him worth watching in AL-only leagues, but many wonder if he'll be a fourth outfielder in the long run.

Sun Aug 21 201116:30Cowgill, D-Backs keep struggling
Collin Cowgill went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Arizona's loss to the Braves on Sunday.
The Diamondbacks have now dropped five straight. Considered a late bloomer after he hit .350/.430/.554 before earning his recall from Triple-A Reno on July 26, the 25-year-old Cowgill has found life tough in the majors, batting just .167/.255/.167 through his first 47 plate appearances. He's not worth holding onto in NL-only leagues.

Tue Jul 26 201114:34D'Backs promote Cowgill from Triple-A Reno
Diamondbacks purchased the contract of OF Collin Cowgill from Triple-A Reno.
Cowgill earned the promotion after batting .350/.430/.554 with 13 home runs, 70 RBI and 30 stolen bases in 98 games with the Reno Aces. The 25-year-old is likely to see regular time in the Arizona outfield down the stretch and is worth adding immediately in NL-only fantasy formats.

Mon Jul 25 201122:15Report: D-Backs to call up OF Cowgill
Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports that the Diamondbacks will call up outfielder Collin Cowgill from Triple-A Reno.
He's expected to take the place of Geoff Blum, who left Sunday's game with a fractured pinkie finger. Cowgill, 25, is batting .354/.430/.554 with 13 homers, 70 RBI and 30 stolen bases over 456 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season. The 2008 fifth-round pick is worth snagging in NL-only formats.
