Sun May 2 201019:25Padres' Hairston fills up stat sheet
Scott Hairston filled up a box score against the Brewers on Sunday by going 2-for-4 with a homer, three runs scored, two RBI, and two stolen bases.
He even added a walk and a strikeout to fill in additional categories. Hairston has four homers and three steals in just 48 at-bats this season, but the crowded Padres' outfield prevents him from more playing time. However, since Hairston is off to the best start offensively of the group, he may be in line for more playing time during the month of May.
Sat May 1 201000:56Hairston gets a pinch-hit homer
Scott Hairston hit a pinch-hit homer off righty Dave Bush on Friday night.
Scott drove in his brother, Jerry. Scott continues to show good pop (three homers in 41 at-bats this season), but his value is capped while playing in Petco and the Padres' current four outfielder rotation.
Fri Apr 9 201012:42Padres' Hairston starts in center on Friday
Scott Hairston will draw his second straight start in center field on Friday night against the Rockies.
Rightfully so, as the Padres face the lefty Jorge De La Rosa. Hairston was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer against Arizona right-hander Ian Kennedy on Wednesday, so it's clear that he shouldn't be used strictly as a platoon player.

Thu Apr 8 201000:59Padres' Hairtston hits three-run homer
Making his first start of the year, Scott Hairston went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
The Padres may feel they have four similar outfielders, but none of the alternatives have Hairston's track record in the majors. He certainly needs to play more than once every three games.
Tue Apr 6 201020:43Hairston still out of the lineup
Padres manager Bud Black said that Scott Hairston could be in the lineup on Wednesday and Friday.
Kyle Blanks, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Will Venable have been the starting outfielders over the first two games. The righty-hitting Hairston still figures to play a rather prominent role with the club, especially against left-handers, whom he has hit to an 867 OPS during his career. The Padres face southpaw Jorge De La Rosa on Friday.
