Sat Aug 7 201012:28Borbon sits again so Murphy can play
Julio Borbon was out of the starting lineup for the second straight game Friday.
David Murphy, who had homered in two straight games, got the start instead. Borbon's average has dropped from .298 to .269 over the last 28 games, a stretch in which he is just 18-for-88 (.205). "When we have Murphy in, we're getting wins," Borbon said. "That's the bottom line." Manager Ron Washington said Borbon will get at least one start over the weekend.

Wed Jun 23 201011:07Borbon stays red-hot
Julio Borbon is batting .429 (27-for-63) over his last 18 games.
Borbon has improved his batting average from .234 to a season-high .294 in the process. We're still waiting for his speed to surface -- just eight stolen bases in 14 attempts thus far -- but he's available in far too many leagues for our liking.

Sat May 29 201019:10Borbon has two hits, stolen base in wins
Julio Borbon was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base in a loss to the Twins on Saturday afternoon.
Borbon had RBI singles in the third and fifth innings. The stolen base was his first since May 18 and just his seventh in nine attempts this season. He's been a major disappointment until now, especially for those counting on the speed, but there's no sense in dropping him now if you've been patient. Though he still has a .235 batting average overall, he is hitting .279 in 68 at-bats this month.
Tue May 18 201000:31Borbon starting to pick it back up
Julio Borbon went 2-for-3 on Monday and now has 10 hits in his last 26 at-bats.
Borbon has just one steal over that span while batting ninth, but the swipes will come. If he was dropped in a deeper mixed format, we'd probably pick him back up. His speed can help most teams, even while batting ninth.
Sun Apr 18 201011:08Borbon sits Sunday, loses leadoff spot.
Julio Borbon is out of the Rangers lineup Sunday and may have lost his leadoff spot to Elvis Andrus according to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant.
Andrus takes over the leadoff spot Sunday but without Borbon in the lineup, it's hard to know where he'll be placed when both of them are playing. No one needs to tell Borbon owners that he's had a slow start to the season, so hopefully a day off and a move down in the order will help him find the stroke he showed at the end of last year. This does raise Andrus' value, as he should get plenty of chances to steal bases from the leadoff position.

Wed Apr 14 201023:16Borbon finally gets a steal
Julio Borbon went 2-for-4 with two RBI on Wednesday night and added his first steal of the season.
If Borbon gets on base, he's going to get steals. The problem is that coming into tonight, his OBP was at .208. That's more than a little fluky, so tonight should be the start of something for Borbon.
Sun Apr 11 201015:01Borbon not in Rangers' lineup
Julio Borbon is not the Rangers' Sunday lineup.
Borbon finally collected his first hit of the season Saturday, leaving him 1-for-21 to start the season. Perhaps a day off will help him get settled and start hitting. David Murphy is leading off in his absence.

Thu Apr 8 201017:02Rangers' Borbon goes hitless again
Julio Borbon went hitless again Thursday to finish the series against the Blue Jays 0-for-12.
Borbon will steal a bunch of bases this year, but it remains to be seen if he's ready to lead off for a contender. He's off to a rough start, but since many of his teammates are as well, it doesn't reflect too poorly on him.
