Sat Jul 21 201216:20Luke Scott says he's heading to disabled list
According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Luke Scott(lower back) says that he is heading to the disabled list.
Scott left Friday's game in the 11th inning when his back started acting up on him again. It's the same injury that sent him to the DL earlier in the season. While he initially thought he would be able to play through it, it looks like the Rays will play it safe. Hideki Matsui will likely be the primary beneficiary of the additional at-bats while Scott is out.

Scott fully intends to return when he is first eligible later this month. Hideki Matsui should continue to see most of the at-bats out of the DH spot and makes for a fine short-term addition in AL-only and even some deeper mixed leagues. The Rays will announce a corresponding roster move on Friday.

Wed Jun 13 201220:42Luke Scott hasn't started since June 5
Luke Scott hasn't started a game since June 5, partly due to a stiff back.
The Rays have also wanted to see what they have with Hideki Matsui, and Scott's minor ailment has allowed them to do that. Scott has nine homers this season but is batting just .220 with a .281 OBP. Of course, Matsui is hitting only .179/.207/.429 so far, so we'd expect Scott to see plenty of starts once he's back to 100 percent.
