Tue Apr 8 2014 | 18:33 | A's move Michael Ynoa to bullpen |
The Athletics have moved pitching prospect Michael Ynoa to the bullpen at High-A Stockton. |
It's a little surprising after Ynoa finally pitched well and stayed healthy last season. However, he does have a career 4.9 BB/9 rate, so the A's must be thinking the 22-year-old will have a better shot to throw strikes and stay off the DL as a reliever. |

Athletics prospect right-hander Michael Ynoa hasn't reported to camp due to chicken pox. |
Ynoa is expected to be stuck at home in the Dominican Republic for another 6-10 business days. The 21-year-old right-hander has been a huge disappointment since getting a $4.25 million bonus as a 16-year-old in 2008, but the A's still elected to protect him in the recent Rule 5 Draft. |
