Mike Bolsinger was lit up for seven runs -- five earned -- in 3 2/3 innings Saturday by the Braves.
Bolsinger was staked to a 3-0 lead after the top of the first inning but couldn't make it stand, yielding one run in the bottom of the first, one run in the bottom of the third, and then five runs in the fourth. He is 1-5 with a 5.13 ERA and 1.54 WHIP on the year.

Sun Jun 29 201420:36Mike Bolsinger fans six in loss to Padres
Mike Bolsinger pitched well in Sunday's loss to the Padres, surrendering two runs on three hits over six innings of work.
The rookie right-hander racked up six strikeouts on the afternoon while walking four. all of the damage against him came in the fourth inning, where Cameron Maybin delivered an RBI double an Alexi Amarista followed with a sacrifice fly. He remains an underwhelming fantasy option for Saturday's start against the Braves in Atlanta.

Sun Jun 22 201423:47Bolsinger allows one run in tough-luck loss
Mike Bolsinger allowed one run on five hits over 7 2/3 innings but took a tough loss against the Giants on Sunday.
Bolsinger allowed only a Tyler Colvin RBI double in the fifth inning, but his counterpart, Madison Bumgarner, was nearly unhittable on the other side. Even so, the start was undoubtedly Bolsinger's best of his six thus far this year, lowering his ERA from 5.70 to 4.78 with the start. It was the second straight good start he's had since being recalled, and he'll look to keep it rolling Sunday at the Padres.

Wed Jun 18 201400:35Bolsinger surrenders 3 runs in ND vs. Crew
In his return to the big leagues, Mike Bolsinger didn't factor into the decision against the Brewers after allowing three runs over six-plus innings on Tuesday.
Bolsinger actually acquitted himself fairly well this time around against a good offense, striking out six and walking none. All three runs he surrendered came via the long ball. He was taking the rotation spot of the injured Bronson Arroyo (elbow). Bolsinger was demoted early last month after posting an ugly 6.08 ERA and 1.73 WHIP through his first 23 2/3 innings. This outing dropped the ERA to 5.70 and the WHIP to 1.60. We'll see if Bolsinger showed enough here to convince Arizona to send him back out on Sunday against the Giants. If that's the decision, NL-only owner shouldn't make the same mistake.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Mike Bolsinger to Triple-A Reno.
Bolsinger gets the boot after allowing four runs on seven hits over five innings in Monday's loss to the Brewers. It's unclear how the D-Backs will proceed with their rotation, though the newly-recalled Chase Anderson is an option if he isn't needed in relief over the next couple of days.

Mon May 5 201423:40Mike Bolsinger struggles in loss to Brewers
Mike Bolsinger struggled in a losing effort against the Brewers on Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits over his five frames.
Bolsinger walked three and struck out three on the night. His troubles stemmed from his inability to keep the ball in the yard, as Carlos Gomez blasted a solo homer on the game's first pitch and Martin Maldonado added a two-run shot in the second. He owns a disappointing 6.08 ERA and 1.73 WHIP through his first 23 2/3 innings, but could be a decent matchup play for Sunday's outing against Hector Noesi and the White Sox in Chicago.

Wed Apr 30 201401:10Bolsinger surrenders four runs in ND vs. Rox
Mike Bolsinger struggled against the Rockies on Tuesday, coughing up four earned runs on nine hits in five innings in a no-decision.
Bolsinger issued no free passes and struck out four. Despite his struggles, he's actually posted a solid 19/5 K/BB rate over 18 2/3 innings. Will it save his rotation spot? In Arizona, it just might. Assuming he gets another turn, Bolsinger will tote a 1-2 record and 5.79 ERA into next week's date in Milwaukee. He should be miles away from a fantasy lineup despite the potential two-start week.

Thu Apr 24 201418:05Mike Blosinger notches first victory
Mike Bolsinger beat the Cubs for his first major league victory by allowing just an unearned run over 6 2/3 innings on Thursday.
Bolsinger struck out seven in his second big-league start. The first, last Saturday, saw him give up six earned runs in four innings against the Dodgers. Bolsinger's fastball is on the slow side, and it's not like he makes up for it with impeccable command. We're not expecting much.

Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson confirmed Sunday that Mike Bolsinger will remain in the rotation to start against the Cubs in Chicago on Thursday.
Bolsinger struggled in his MLB debut on Saturday, allowing six earned runs in four innings of work against the Dodgers. He remains an unattractive option in all but NL-only formats.

Sat Apr 19 201423:18Mike Bolsinger gives up seven runs in loss
Mike Bolsinger was tagged for seven runs -- six earned -- in four innings by the Dodgers in his major league debut Saturday.
Bolsinger lacks major league-quality stuff, and he was only called up because the Diamondbacks are both panicking and too thrifty to go to Archie Bradley just yet. With the team still in a tailspin, it'd be no surprise to see Bolsinger jettisoned right away, with Trevor Cahill rejoining the rotation.
