Thu Aug 26 2010 | 09:45 | Laffey not ready yet |
Aaron Laffey (shoulder) allowed two runs on four hits over 1 1/3 innings during a rehab appearance Tuesday with Triple-A Columbus. |
''Laffey is not 100 percent yet,'' Indians manager Manny Acta said. ''He doesn't feel like he's ready to get major-league hitters out. His velocity is better, but it's not all the way back. He is improving, but he's not ready yet.'' Laffey, who has been out since late July with left shoulder fatigue, should return to the Tribe sometime in September. |

Wed Aug 25 2010 | 20:16 | Laffey close to returning to Tribe's bullpen |
Aaron Laffey (shoulder) has tossed 4 1/3 innings of relief on a minor league rehab assignment and is likely to return in early September. |
Laffey isn't putting on much of a display in the minors and the Indians want to see more before activating him. "He's not 100 percent yet," Tribe manager Manny Acta said. "He doesn't feel physically ready to compete and get Major League hitters out." He's been sidelined since mid-July. |

Sat Aug 14 2010 | 17:38 | LHP Laffey to relieve when he returns? |
The Indians' Aaron Laffey will start a rehab stint on Monday, but will relieve when he returns to the major leagues. |
Laffey has walked more batters than he's struck out on his last two attempts at pitching in the Cleveland rotation, so something has to change. The southpaw can keep the ball on the ground and is decent against lefties, so perhaps the move to the bullpen will stick. It's hard to imagine much fantasy relevance for him going forward, though. |

Thu Aug 12 2010 | 20:25 | Laffey scheduled for bullpen session Friday |
Aaron Laffey (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Friday at Cleveland's Progressive Field. |
It will be his second. Laffey, 25, has been out since July 19 with shoulder fatigue and the Indians still have no timetable for his possible return. If he makes it through Friday's bullpener without pain or discomfort, that will be a nice step. Look for him in late August. |

Fri Jul 23 2010 | 14:54 | Indians place Laffey on 15-day DL |
Indians placed LHP Aaron Laffey on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 20, with left shoulder fatigue. |
It'll be interesting to see who is called up to replace him. Jeanmar Gomez turned in a gem in his spot start for the Indians on Sunday, but he hasn't been nearly as effective as Carlos Carrasco in Triple-A this year. Then there's David Huff, who was supposed to get called on Sunday before his Twitter misfire. Gomez is probably the favorite for the assignment, which will come up Tuesday. Justin Masterson is being moved up to Sunday's start. |
Wed Jul 21 2010 | 13:28 | Laffey to undergo MRI on left arm |
Indians manager Manny Acta said that Aaron Laffey will get an MRI on his left arm Thursday. |
Laffey is scheduled to start against the Rays on Sunday, but Acta isn't sure whether he will be available. "I won't guess if Aaron is going to make his next start," said Acta. "He'll get an MRI on Thursday. He'll continue to be evaluated by Lonnie (Soloff, Indians head athletic trainer), while we're waiting to get the results of the MRI before making a decision." Laffey acknowledged that his arm has been bothering him for longer than just his last two starts. |

Tue Jul 20 2010 | 19:02 | Aaron Laffey complains of 'dead arm' |
Aaron Laffey said he was dealing with a "dead arm" during Monday's start against the Twins. |
Laffey allowed only an unearned run over five innings on Monday, but threw just 58 of 101 pitches for strikes and walked four. He is currently being "evaluated" by the team. |

Tue Jul 6 2010 | 00:12 | Laffey labors through 4 1/3 innings |
Aaron Laffey labored through 4 1/3 innings Monday but left with a no-decision in the Tribe's 9-3 win over Texas. |
He allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks. The left-hander was removed after throwing 101 pitches, so he wasn't exactly economical. Laffey was making just his third start of the year after spending most of the season in the bullpen. His effort the last time out was promising, but he took a step back tonight. He'll look to rebound Saturday in Tampa. |
Fri Jun 25 2010 | 22:21 | Laffey allows five earned in return to Tribe |
Aaron Laffey allowed five earned runs over four innings Friday as the Indians fell to the Reds. |
Not much better than David Huff was doing. Laffey was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Friday afternoon to take Huff's spot in the starting rotation and may be headed back before the night is through. He allowed five hits, walked three and watched his ERA skyrocket to 6.37. Yikes. |
Fri Jun 25 2010 | 13:24 | Indians recall LHP Laffey from Triple-A |
Indians recalled LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Columbus. |
Laffey will move into the rotation and start tonight against the Reds. AL-only leaguers in need of a starter can give him a try, but he's probably not going to be of much use in wins or strikeouts. His upside is limited. |
Tue Jun 22 2010 | 22:05 | Laffey to start Friday vs. Reds |
Aaron Laffey will be called up from the minors to start against the Reds on Friday. |
Carlos Carrasco was also considered as an option to replace David Huff in the rotation. Laffey posted a 5.61 ERA in 20 relief appearances before being sent to the minors last month, but he has a 3.98 ERA over his first four starts with Triple-A Columbus. |

Sun May 30 2010 | 10:01 | Laffey demoted to Triple-A |
Indians optioned LHP Aaron Laffey to Triple-A Columbus. |
Laffey didn't adjust very well to pitching out of the bullpen for the Indians. He was 0-1 with a 5.61 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP, and perhaps more distressingly, was walking more hitters than he was striking out. Jensen Lewis will take over his spot in the Indians' bullpen. |
