Pino is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Rochester to start one game in Saturday's doubleheader against Detroit, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
It's possible Pino could remain in the rotation if Trevor May continues to struggle, but the Twins say Pino will be up for just one start for now.
Fri Aug 15 201417:37Pino optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Friday
Pino was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Friday, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports.
Pino struggled in his last outing with the Twins on Tuesday, allowing seven runs over just 4.1 innings. He will head back to Triple-A to make room for Ricky Nolasco on the active roster, who was activated from the disabled list Friday. Pino could find himself back in the majors in September if the team decides to call him up when the rosters expand.
Wed Aug 13 201400:07Pino lasted just 4.1 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits ...
Pino lasted just 4.1 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits (including three home runs) and one walk while striking out seven batters in picking up his fifth loss (1-5) of the year in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.
It has been mostly a struggle for Pino this year,as he continually gets burned by the long ball. He now has served up eight home runs in 55.1 innings pitched. His 5.37 ERA and 1.30 WHIP doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Nor does the fact the he's only completed seven innings once in his 10 starts in the big leagues. Pino's next start is scheduled for Monday at home against the Royals.

Pino gave up three runs over 5.2 innings with two strikeouts and one walk in Thursday's loss to Oakland.
Pino has a 4.81 ERA in his last four starts but does have a strong 18:4 K:BB ratio in 24.1 innings over that span. That's likely enough to keep him in the rotation in the short term, but it's unclear if he'll remain in the rotation when Ricky Nolasco comes off the DL or when/if the Twins decide to call up top prospects Trevor May and Alex Meyer from Triple-A.

Pino gave up four runs over 6.1 innings with five strikeouts and two walks, but got a no-decision in Saturday's win over the White Sox.
Pino has given up ten runs in 18.2 innings over his last three starts, but does have a strong 16:3 K:BB ratio over that span. He'll remain the rotation in the short term until Ricky Nolasco comes off the DL or the Twins finally decide to call up Alex Meyer and Trevor May from Triple-A.
Sun Jul 27 201416:58Pino allows two runs in no-decision vs. Sox
Yohan Pino allowed two runs over six innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Sunday.
Pino turned in his third good start in his last four, lowering his ERA to 4.38. Pino walked one and struck out six. He remains 1-3 and isn't a factor outside of deep AL-only leagues. He'll face the same White Sox club on Saturday.

Tue Jul 22 201423:47Pino allows four runs over 6 1/3 against CLE
Yohan Pino allowed four runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Indians on Tuesday.
Pino had limited his opponents to two runs in his final two starts before the break, but the 30-year-old failed to carry that momentum over to the second half. The right-hander gave up a home run to Carlos Santana among his seven hits allowed, but he didn't walk a batter while striking out five. Pino may stick around with the lack of better options currently in Minnesota, but he offers little in the way of fantasy upside.

Yohan Pino will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester to start Tuesday against the Indians.
That was the expectation already, but it's now official. Pino, 30, owns a 4.39 ERA and 19/7 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings over five starts with the Twins this season and can be ignored outside of AL-only formats.

Yohan Pino is expected to be recalled to start on Tuesday against the Indians.

Fri Jul 11 201401:26Pino earns first big league win in Seattle
Yohan Pino surrendered just one run over five innings to earn his first MLB victory over the Mariners on Thursday.
He allowed seven hits and two walks while notching four strikeouts. Pino is expected to be demoted to make room for Friday starter Kris Johnson, but he might have done enough in his past two starts to book a reservation in the rotation to begin the second half. Pino put up an ugly 6.32 ERA in his first three outings, but yielded just two runs in 11 innings over his last two. Pino is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.31 WHIP overall.

Sat Jul 5 201417:27Pino allows one run in no-decision
Yohan Pino allowed just one run over six innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Saturday.
He allowed just three hits and two walks while notching three strikeouts. The only run scored on an RBI single from Francisco Cervelli in the fifth inning, but it was enough to cost him a chance at a win. Pino has been decent since coming up from the minors last month, posting a 4.98 ERA and 15/5 K/BB ratio in 21 2/3 innings over four starts. He's strictly an AL-only option.

Tue Jul 1 201400:00Yohan Pino loses to Royals
Yohan Pino gave up four runs in 5 2/3 innings Monday in a loss to the Royals.
Pino has pitched effectively in just one of his three starts, leaving him 0-2 with a 6.32 ERA. Most likely, he won't get a fourth chance to impress. We'd rather see Kris Johnson get a look if the Twins remains set on keeping Alex Meyer in the minors (Trevor May, sidelined with a calf injury, isn't an option at the moment).

Twins recalled RHP Yohan Pino from Triple-A Rochester.
Pino was sent down Thursday after allowing seven earned runs over 10 innings in his two starts, but Danny Santana's knee injury gives him another chance. The righty should re-enter the rotation next week, allowing the Twins to keep Samuel Deduno in the bullpen.

Thu Jun 26 201401:07Pino smacked around by Angels in start No. 2
Yohan Pino fell back to earth in his second major league start, coughing up five runs on seven hits over three innings in a loss to the Angels on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old snuck up on the White Sox in his MLB debut on Thursday, allowing two runs over seven innings in a victory, but his stuff simply isn't MLB worthy. With Trevor May and Alex Meyer demanding promotions at Triple-A, Pino doesn't have the leash to perform like this. If the Twins give him one more chance, it'll be against the Royals on Monday. Fantasy owners shouldn't mimic their mistake.

Fri Jun 20 201401:03Pino impresses in big league debut vs. ChiSox

The 30-year-old Pino, replacing Sam Deduno in the rotation, made his big league debut after posting great numbers with Triple-A Rochester. The right-hander allowed five hits, walked one, and struck out seven. Pino will look to repeat the success in his next outing against the Angels on the road.

Twins purchased the contract of RHP Yohan Pino from Triple-A Rochester.
Pino will take the place of Samuel Deduno in the Twins' rotation and make his major league debut Thursday against the White Sox. The 30-year-old had a 1.92 ERA and 61/16 K/BB ratio over 61 innings this season in Triple-A, but we're not expecting much in fantasy leagues.

Tue Jun 17 201417:00Yohan Pino to join Twins' rotation Thursday
Yohan Pino will join the Twins' rotation Thursday.
He's replacing Samuel Deduno, who was demoted to the bullpen on Tuesday. Pino has registered a 1.92 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 61/16 K/BB ratio in 61 innings this season at Triple-A Rochester and is probably worth a flier in AL-only fantasy leagues. The 30-year-old right-hander will make his MLB debut at Target Field against the White Sox.
