Fri Nov 21 201415:52Kirk Hinrich: (Chest) Will Not Play Friday
Hinrich (chest) will not play in Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hinrich suffered the injury in Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings after taking a charge from DeMarcus Cousins in the fourth quarter. He won't play Friday and should be considered questionable for Monday's game against the Utah Jazz. He'll join both Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol as the Bulls' inactives. Aaron Brooks figures to get the start at point guard with both Rose and Hinrich sitting out.
Fri Nov 21 201410:18Kirk Hinrich: Suffers Chest Contusion Thursday
Hinrich will be evaluated Friday for a chest contusion that he suffered during Thursday's game against the Kings, although initial X-rays came back negative, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hinrich took a charge from DeMarcus Cousins in the fourth quarter and ultimately came away from the incident bruised and battered. The Bulls play the Trail Blazers on Friday and Hinrich should be considered questionable until his availability is determined.

Hinrich started for Derrick Rose (hamstring) and provided 15 points (7-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt) and seven assists in 32 minutes in the loss to the Pacers on Saturday.
Hinrich has struggled from the field in November. He came into the game hitting just 26.1 percent of his field goals in his previous seven games. He is capable of decent numbers when he starts for Rose, but should only be considered in deeper leagues.
Sat Nov 15 201412:08Hinrich will start at point guard Saturday
Hinrich will start at point guard Saturday, the Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson reports.
Johnson says the Bulls will be careful with Hinrich's minutes, so Aaron Brooks will also serve as a solid option in daily leagues off the bench with Derrick Rose (hamstring) sidelined.

Hinrich scored eight straight points in the fourth quarter of the overtime loss to the Cavaliers on Friday. He finished with 20 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT) in 34 minutes.
Hinrich, who looked very spry, did miss a long jumper in regulation after his eight-point binge that could have won the game for the Bulls. He received extra playing time because Derrick Rose sat out after the third quarter with a sprained ankle. Hinrich will continue to start in place of Jimmy Butler (thumb) and provide points and 3-pointers.

Hinrich scored 12 points on Wednesday (4-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT) in place of Jimmy Butler, who is missing 2-4 weeks with a thumb injury.
Hinrich and rookie Doug McDermott split time at shooting guard without Butler on opening night for the Bulls against the Knicks. Outside of his scoring, Hinrich did little statistically, pulling down just one rebound and failing to record a single assist. As long as Butler is out, though, Hinrich is the favorite to start at shooting guard.

Hinrich scored 14 points (4-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT) to go along with one rebound and three assists in 31 minutes Friday against Minnesota.
Hinrich started in place of Jimmy Butler (thumb) and might start the first game of the regular season if Butler can't play. Hinrich is a valuable player for the Bulls, but he doesn't hold significant fantasy value.

Hinrich scored two points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt) to go along with four assists and one steal in 16 minutes Monday against the Cavaliers.
Hinrich started in place of Jimmy Butler (thumb), but wasn't able to contribute much as he didn't see a lot of playing time. He may get the occasional start this season in place of an injured starter and could have the occasional offensive explosion as well, but he won't be a major contributor on a nightly basis.

Hinrich scored seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt) to go along with three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 26 minutes Saturday against the Bucks.
Hinrich is a solid veteran presence and an excellent leader for the Bulls second unit, but he's not likely to have significant fantasy value this season as the Bulls have a much deeper roster than last year.
Mon Jul 21 201413:11Bulls announce Kirk Hinrich deal
Bulls sign G Kirk Hinrich.
"Kirk had other opportunities elsewhere, but we are very happy he chose to remain in a Bulls uniform," general manager Gar Foreman said. Hinrich will backup Derrick Rose again this season and he'll be even more important with D.J. Augustin in Detroit. The Bulls are expected to add another backup soon.

Sun Jul 13 201417:11Report: Kirk Hinrich will re-sign w/ Bulls
Kirk Hinrich has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Bulls.
Terms of the deal should soon be disclosed but it's likely a short-term deal worth somewhere around $2-3 million per season. Hinrich will backup Derrick Rose at PG, but even if Rose gets injured there's not much fantasy value to be had -- in 61 starts last season, Hinrich averaged a modest 9.4 points on 39.2 percent shooting, 1.2 triples, 3.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

Fri Jul 11 201416:39Report: CHI, CHA pursuing UFA Kirk Hinrich
The Bulls, and Hornets are reportedly pursuing unrestricted free agent Kirk Hinrich.
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau is a big supporter of Hinrich, and Bulls GM Gar Forman stated that re-signing Hinrich would be "a priority" this offseason, so it would appear the Bulls would be a favorite to retain Hinrich. However, Charlotte currently has more flexibility with what they'd be able to offer Hinrich, so as it stands, nothing is certain. Hinrich would be a backup role wherever he lands, and doesn't do enough statistically to be considered a fantasy option outside of very deep leagues.

Wed Apr 30 201414:54Kirk Hinrich hopes to re-sign with Bulls
Kirk Hinrich expressed his desire to re-sign with the Bulls on Wednesday.
"I grew up a Bull in this league," Hinrich said. "I will always think of myself as a Chicago Bull no matter what happens. Just moving forward, I have a great relationship with a lot of my teammates here who are coming back. The organization -- there's definitely a lot of history there." At this stage of his career, he may be looking at the veteran minimum if he hopes to stay in Chicago. Still, Hinrich performed well after being thrust into the starting role due to the Derrick Rose injury. He provides little fantasy value, but with Rose's injury history, he could see steady minutes if he does return next season.

Wed Apr 23 201400:45Kirk Hinrich misses free throw, Bulls lose
Kirk Hinrich went to the line with less than three seconds remaining in overtime of Tuesday's Game 2 and the Bulls down 101-99, but missed both free throws in the loss.
He missed the first one, then intentionally missed the second one and the Bulls weren't able to get the rebound. Hinrich had 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals on 5-of-13 shooting, but this game might have ended differently had he hit the free throws at the end of the game. The Bulls are now down 0-2 and heading to Washington for Games 3 & 4.

Thu Apr 3 201409:20Kirk Hinrich may re-sign with Bulls as FA
Kirk Hinrich suggested that he might re-sign with the Bulls as an unrestricted free agent this summer.
"I like it here," Hinrich said. "Obviously, returning home was a big factor in why I came back. I would like to stay here. But I don't know what's in their future plans." He added that he's finishing the regular season in better health than he has for the past "three or four seasons," which bodes well for the Bulls as they roll toward the playoffs as the East's fourth seed.

Sun Mar 30 201421:35Kirk Hinrich recovers after scoreless game
On the heels of Friday's scoreless game, Kirk Hinrich scored 11 points with four assists and one steal in 30 minutes vs. the Celtics.
D.J. Augustin caught fire off the bench with 33 points in 31 minutes, but on most nights he and Hinrich remain locked in a value-stunting timeshare. There's no reason to rely on Hinrich for value in standard fantasy leagues, even with four games on tap this week.

Sat Mar 29 201417:50Kirk Hinrich scoreless in 18 minutes on Sat.
Kirk Hinrich missed all six of his field goals for his first scoreless game of the season on Saturday, playing 18 minutes vs. D.J. Augustin's 33 minutes.
Hinrich has only cracked double-digits in 27 games this season, so it's not surprising to see him sputter out from the field. The Bulls had 36 points at halftime on Saturday and Tom Thibodeau simply needed Augustin's offense more than Hinrich's defense, and the two should continue a fairly even minute-share at PG vs. Boston on Sunday.

Wed Mar 26 201413:41Kirk Hinrich on fire from downtown in March
Kirk Hinrich is averaging 10.6 points and 1.6 three-pointers since the All-Star break, while shooting 49.2 percent from downtown during that stretch.
He's chipping in 2.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 0.9 steals for borderline value in 14-team leagues, but his contributions have been far more valuable for the playoff-bound Bulls. "I'm trying to be aggressive," said Hinrich, who will be a free agent this summer. "I feel like I've been in a good rhythm." He and D.J. Augustin are both averaging 29 minutes per game over the past month but Augustin's superior scoring gives him the edge for fantasy purposes.

Fri Mar 21 201422:50Kirk Hinrich scores seven points
Kirk Hinrich scored seven points with two boards, three assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes on Friday vs. the Pacers.
His March stats have been all over the place with averages of 8.9 points, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.8 triples on 38.5 percent from the field. This has been the story for Hinrich all season, but the contributions in steals and triples put him on the radar as a player to own in standard leagues.

Thu Mar 13 201422:18Kirk Hinrich scores 19 points vs. Rockets
Kirk Hinrich matched a season-high 19 points vs. the Rockets on Thursday with one rebound, four assists, one block, two steals and five 3-pointers.
It's the first time he's made at least four 3-pointers in a game and the first time he's shot over 50 percent from the field since Mar. 2. Hinrich and D.J. Augustin aren't having any trouble putting up numbers together, but the extra treys from DJA makes him the better player to own in standard formats.
