Tue Aug 27 2013 | 16:55 | Carlos Delfino expected to start for Bucks |
Beat writer Gery Woelfel reiterates that the Bucks are expected to start Carlos Delfino at small forward. |
The Bucks apparently have no intention of playing Ersan Ilyasova at small forward, thus allowing enticing prospect John Henson to start up front. They'll enter camp with a lineup of Brandon Knight, O.J. Mayo, Delfino, Ilyasova and new $44 million center Larry Sanders. Delfino started five games a year ago, averaging 10.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 3-pointers in 35.2 minutes per game. But with Mayo capable of playing a little small forward, Henson needing minutes and Kris Middleton intriguing, Delfino won't get that much burn in 2013-14. Something closer to 27-29 is more realistic if he holds onto the starting gig. |

Sun Aug 11 2013 | 10:10 | Carlos Delfino slated for starting SG job |
Bucks GM John Hammond views Carlos Delfino as the team's starting small forward, backed up by Khris Middleton. |
Bucks writer Frank Madden suggests that trading Ekpe Udoh for a small forward would be "the optimal way to rebalance the roster." The Bucks undeniably have too many PF/Cs but there are no indications yet that a trade is in the works. Delfino made a career-high 2.4 threes in just 25 minutes per game last year, and he'll have major fantasy appeal if he enters the season with a starting gig on a team in need of perimeter shooting. |

Sun Jul 7 2013 | 20:42 | Delfino heads to Milwaukee on three-year deal |
Carlos Delfino and the Bucks have agreed on a three-year contract worth as much as $10 million, with the third year a team option. |
Last year, in his eighth NBA season, Delfino averaged a career-high 2.4 three-pointers in just 25 minutes per game. He will no longer have the benefit of Houston's up-tempo attack, but he's a leading candidate for the starting SF spot, competing with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute while rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo develops in a reserve role. Delfino is recovering from foot surgery but he's targeting a return during training camp. |

Sun Jul 7 2013 | 19:02 | Bucks nearing deal on Carlos Delfino |
The Bucks are nearing a three-year deal on unrestricted free agent Carlos Delfino. |
He spent two years with the Bucks and scored a career-high 11.5 points per game in 2010-11. The Bucks have a noticeable hole at small forward and this would be a great landing spot for Delfino's fantasy value. If you're looking for some late 3-pointers in your draft, he's shaping up to be a nice value pick. |

Sun Jun 30 2013 | 13:55 | As expected, Rockets waive Carlos Delfino |
The Rockets waived Carlos Delfino on Sunday. |
Delfino's $3 million salary was reasonable for a guy who averaged 10.6 points while shooting 37.5 percent from downtown last season, but he was a casualty of the Rockets' cap-clearing efforts to land Dwight Howard. He's recovering from a fractured foot and may not be ready for training camp, but he shouldn't have any trouble finding another contract. |

Tue Jun 25 2013 | 02:09 | Rockets eager to unload Delfino and/or Brooks |
The Rockets are doing "anything and everything" they can to trade Aaron Brooks or Carlos Delfino in conjuction with Thursday's draft, according to ESPN.com. |
If Houston can't turn Brooks and/or Delfino into assets via trades, they are expected to lose them to free agency. Brooks would earn $2.5 million next season while Delfino would earn $3 million option, but both salaries are fully unguaranteed and the Rockets are eager to clear salary cap space for their pursuit of Dwight Howard. |

Sun Jun 16 2013 | 10:40 | Rockets will waive Carlos Delfino by June 30 |
The Rockets will waive Carlos Delfino before his $3 million option becomes guaranteed on June 30th. |
The price-tag isn't unreasonable for Delfino, who shot 37.5 percent from downtown last year, but he had foot surgery in May and his 4-6 month timetable makes him iffy for the start of the 2013-14 season. The decision to waive him is even less surprising given Houston's desire to clear cap space for a run at top-tier free agents. |

Thu May 30 2013 | 04:08 | Delfino's foot surgery has 4-6 month recovery |
Carlos Delfino's surgery to repair a fractured foot bone has an expected recovery time of 4-6 months. |
Delfino was in pain since at least April and he was finally shut down in early May. Rockets GM Daryl Morey said that the team "expect[s] he will be fully recovered in time for the start of next season," but the 4-6 month timetable means it's far from a certainty. Houston has a $3 million option for Delfino next season, which is fully unguaranteed if he's waived by June 30. |

Fri May 3 2013 | 17:40 | Carlos Delfino (foot) done for the playoffs |
Carlos Delfino (foot) is out for the rest of the playoffs. |
Delfino has a bone fracture in his right foot and needs surgery. It's a severe blow to the Rockets' chances of coming back from an 0-3 hole to beat the Thunder. Delfino was one of the defenders coach Kevin McHale was using on Kevin Durant and he made 11 3-pointers in the first four games of the series. Francisco Garcia and Chandler Parsons are going to have to avoid foul trouble while guarding Durant. |

Fri May 3 2013 | 11:37 | Carlos Delfino not going through shootaround |
Updating a previous item, Carlos Delfino (foot) did not take part in shootaround on Friday, and he'll be further examined before a decision on his availability is made. |
Delfino was going for X-rays and evaluation on his sore foot on Thursday, so it's not a good sign that he wasn't on the floor. Even if Delfino does suit up, we'd expect very little production given that he's nowhere close to full strength. |

Fri May 3 2013 | 10:24 | Carlos Delfino to get X-rays on ailing foot |
Carlos Delfino, who is wearing a walking boot for his sore left foot, was scheduled to undergo X-rays on Thursday. |
Delfino's status for Game 6 is up in the air, but after dealing with a sore left foot earlier in the season, the issue hasn't gone away. "I've been having this for a couple of weeks now," he said. "I've been playing in pain." Kevin McHale revealed Delfino is dealing with bone spurs, a fracture of a bone spur, and "a lot of different stuff going on." Even if Delfino somehow plays on Friday, expect Francisco Garcia to see extended minutes. |

Thu May 2 2013 | 15:14 | Carlos Delfino getting foot examined Thursday |
Coach Kevin McHale said Carlos Delfino will have the bone spurs in his left foot examined Thursday. |
Delfino's been dealing with a foot injury since at least early April, but the tests come one day after his worst performance of the Rockets' opening-round series. The veteran swingman was held scoreless and managed just one assist in 10 minutes of action Wednesday night. McHale said the Rockets would have an update on his status for Game 6 later in the day. With Jeremy Lin still dealing with a chest contusion, the Rockets' backcourt would be stretched pretty thin if Delfino has to sit out. |

Wed Apr 24 2013 | 10:47 | Carlos Delfino expected to play a ton of PF |
Carlos Delfino is expected to play more power forward in Game 2. |
With the Thunder utilizing a small lineup at times, Delfino at the four is more effective than someone like Donatas Motiejunas. Delfino's ability to play multiple positions should secure at least 25-30 minutes per night going forward. |

Tue Apr 16 2013 | 01:00 | Carlos Delfino busts loose vs. Phoenix |
Carlos Delfino hit six 3-pointers in a loss at Phoenix on Monday to go with 23 points, eight boards, two assists, two steals and one block in 31 minutes. |
He had four 3-pointers on Sunday and he's creeping back into the conversation just as the season comes to a close. If you're on the hunt for triples, Delfino could be useful in the finale against the Lakers on Wednesday. Although, the Rockets won't be able to go small against Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. |

Sat Apr 13 2013 | 00:14 | Carlos Delfino returns with a goose egg |
Carlos Delfino did not score in his return from the flu in Friday's 82-78 loss to Memphis. |
He played just 15 minutes after missing four games and he probably still isn't quite up to 100 percent. Delfino can be left on the wire and those that picked up Francisco Garcia (six points with two 3-pointers) can probably start looking elsewhere. |

Carlos Delfino (flu) returned to a full practice on Thursday. |

Carlos Delfino (flu) did not participate in shootaround on Tuesday and is 50-50 to play against the Suns. |
Delfino did not play on Saturday against the Nuggets and he must be dealing with a really bad flu bug to still be feeling the effects. With Chandler Parsons (calf) already out, Francisco Garcia, Terrence Jones and James Anderson should all see even more minutes if Delfino sits. |

Sat Apr 6 2013 | 19:54 | Carlos Delfino (illness) won't play Saturday |
Carlos Delfino (illness) will not play in Saturday's game vs. Denver. |
Chandler Parsons is also out with a calf injury, which means Francisco Garcia will play all the minutes he can handle. Cisco is a great spot-starter in fantasy leagues, though his value is tentative with both Delfino and Parsons day-to-day. |
