Sun Mar 23 201419:51Drew Gooden scores 15 points in 18 minutes
Drew Gooden's hot streak continued with 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting in Sunday's road loss the Nuggets.
Mid-range jumpers are Gooden's bread and butter play, but he's shown impressive range this season with 0.5 threes per game on 45.5 percent shooting beyond the arc. He added only three rebounds in 18 minutes of action and the low playing time is a concern, but he remains a viable option with three games on the Wizards' schedule this week.

Sat Mar 22 201420:32Drew Gooden gets a $15,000 fine
Drew Gooden received a $15,000 fine from the NBA for "committing an unnecessary act by clamping" Nick Young's arm and "attempting to throw him to the floor."
That's not a very common infraction to be fined for, but it sums up what Gooden did for the most part. He won't be suspended and continues to be a pleasant surprise for the Wizards this season.

Sat Mar 22 201404:03Drew Gooden double-doubles, gets tossed
Drew Gooden was ejected for a flagrant-2 foul against the Lakers on Friday, finishing with 11 points and 11 boards in 19 minutes.
He hooked arms with Nick Young as the major infraction. Young called Gooden's action "uncalled for" and he also called Gooden "over-aggressive." Gooden hasn't really been in the making friends business in the NBA, but he's playing extremely well for the Wizards and is worth owning in standard leagues while he's hot like he is right now.

Fri Mar 21 201400:31Gooden plenty: Drew scores 18 w/ nine boards
Drew Gooden kept his momentum going on Thursday vs. the Blazers with 18 points, nine boards, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes.
He and D.J. Augustin are probably two of the most surprising players to make serious contributions on playoff teams after being picked up off the scrap heap this season. Gooden has scored at least 18 points in three consecutive games and is definitely on the radar as a pickup in standard leagues with Marcin Gortat (back) going down tonight.

Wed Mar 19 201401:52Drew Gooden stays hot, hits two more 3's
Drew Gooden hit 7-of-10 shots and two more 3-pointers for 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in Tuesday's loss.
He was unconscious in this one and is now averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.5 3-pointers over his last two games. We have no idea how long he's going to be this hot, and he even had to pull a 'Jordan shrug' after one of tonight's triples. If you have someone you want to cut, picking up Gooden might work out.

Tue Mar 18 201415:28Wizards sign Drew Gooden for rest of season
The Wizards signed Drew Gooden for the remainder of the season on Tuesday.
Gooden is coming off a strong game with 21 points and nine rebounds on Saturday, but in his previous game he was scoreless in seven minutes. His typical production will fall somewhere in between most games, making him an unlikely source of value in standard leagues.

Sat Mar 15 201421:39Drew Gooden blows up for 21 points, 9 boards
Drew Gooden came off the bench and hit 8-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to a season-high 21 points, nine rebounds and a block in Saturday's win over the Nets.
This came out of nowhere and it was his first 20-point performance since 2012. Gooden has been coming on a bit and may have fully arrived on Saturday. We profiled him in this week's Waiver Wired column and Gooden looks like an interesting waiver-wire grab if you have a player you've been wanting to drop. But he also played just 15 minutes on Friday, so this could easily just be a one-hit wonder for Gooden. Trevor Booker is going to take a hit if Gooden can find a way to keep it going.

Sat Mar 15 201401:05Gooden plays just seven minutes on Friday
Drew Gooden played just seven minutes on Friday with Kevin Seraphin (knee) back with just two rebounds to show for it.
Gooden's 15 minutes per game got cut in half with Seraphin back on the floor and the only silver lining for deep league owners that made an add is that Bradley Beal's injury could open some minutes up. Feel free to grab even a low-level free agent given Gooden's low upside, anyway.

Thu Mar 13 201410:03Drew Gooden expected to stick with Wizards
Drew Gooden is expected to remain with the Wizards for the rest of the 2013-14 season.
Gooden is expected to remain in Washington after his current 10-day contract expires on March 18 and will provide the Nene-less Wizards with frontcourt depth. "A lot of teams wanted a stretch four, so I'm like, 'I have to re-invent myself.' So I think you guys are seeing a re-invented Drew Gooden." While we admire his ability to speak in the third person, Gooden's fantasy value is solely limited to deeper leagues at this point.

Wed Mar 12 201422:26Gooden posts another odd, low-end line
Drew Gooden scored four points on 2-of-5 shooting with eight rebounds and two blocks over 18 minutes in Wednesday's loss.
Gooden is good for something similar on most nights and we're having a hard time seeing Kevin Seraphin (DNP-CD) unseating the veteran at this stage in the game. Gooden will be a poor man's version of Nene for the rest of the season, and since returning to action this season he has returned low-end value in 14-16 team formats.

Tue Mar 11 201409:18Drew Gooden playing with house money
Drew Gooden is enjoying his mini career renaissance with the Wizards.
After playing just 16 games last season, Gooden is making the most of his late-season opportunity with the Wizards. "Confidence is back & I'm at ease. People say I'm playing with the house's money. I kind of got that feeling going right now," Gooden said. Gooden has averaged 8.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.7 blocks in 13.8 minutes per game over his last three and is proving that he can make a difference in deep fantasy leagues going forward.

Mon Mar 10 201422:10Gooden scores 15 points off the bench
Drew Gooden scored 15 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-12 shots (including a three) with three rebounds and no other stats in 17 minutes.
The low minute totals are going to cause some abnormalities in his stat lines, but it's becoming increasingly clear that he's going to be productive in some way, shape or form on the court. Over his last three games he has averaged 13.8 minutes, 8.3 points, 0.3 treys, 3.0 boards, 1.0 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.7 blocks and 66.7 percent shooting from the field.

Sun Mar 9 201400:23Drew Gooden scores 13 points vs. Bucks
Drew Gooden kept up his productive ways on Saturday vs. the Bucks with 13 points, five boards, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
He did all of this in just 17 minutes of action and he was able to build off a 12-point game on Wednesday. Gooden's minutes haven't really taken off and they're probably not going to at age 32, but he still knows how to get free in the low post and is a nice fit around all the Wizards' 3-point shooters. His last two games came against the Bucks and Jazz, so his potential owners might want to take that into consideration before adding him. Plus, Kevin Seraphin (knee) should be back at some point.

Sat Mar 8 201413:48Drew Gooden earns second 10-day contract
The Wizards have signed Drew Gooden to a second 10-day contract, as expected.
The veteran has gained a foothold in the rotation with Nene (MCL) out of commission and Kevin Seraphin (knee) still day-to-day. He scored 12 points in 19 minutes of action on Wednesday, which probably represents his ceiling, so don't give him much thought outside of the deepest leagues.

Wed Mar 5 201423:11Drew Gooden plays 19 minutes, scores 12
Drew Gooden played a surprising 19 minutes against the Jazz on Wednesday, making 6-of-7 from the field for 12 points,
He didn't score at all in his first two games and played just a combined 13 minutes. Gooden was making some nifty cuts and was able to get easy buckets against the leaky Jazz defense, which is not an adept area of Trevor Booker's game. He was a headache to own two seasons ago, so it would take a special kind of crazy to add him in even the deepest of leagues.

Mon Feb 24 201417:13Wizards likely to sign Drew Gooden to 10-day
The Wizards are "likely" to sign Drew Gooden to a 10-day deal.
The loss of Nene (knee) for the next 4-6 weeks will make the Wizards very thin up front. Trevor Booker has quite a few injuries on his medical chart and Kevin Seraphin's progress has plateaued the past two season, so the move makes sense. Obviously Gooden is only worth a look in extremely deep leagues for now.

Mon Aug 12 201315:28Knicks looking to fill final roster spot
The Knicks have reportedly expressed interest in FA big men Lou Amundson, Drew Gooden, Ivan Johnson and Tyrus Thomas.
The Knicks roster is at 14 players, and the team is looking to add one more frontcourt player. Regardless of who is signed, playing time will be limited and fantasy value will be minimal.

Fri Jul 19 201317:19Drew Gooden clears waivers, becomes UFA
Drew Gooden cleared waivers on Friday, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Gooden signed a five-year, $32 million deal in 2010 which quickly became an anchor for the Bucks. He appeared in a total of 108 games between 2011-2013, and spent most of last season as a healthy DNP-CD on the Bucks' bench. It's conceivable that he'll land a minimum contract to add frontcourt depth for a team, but he's not a fantasy option.

Tue Jul 16 201319:38Bucks waive F/C Drew Gooden via amnesty
Bucks waive F/C Drew Gooden using the amnesty clause.
Like most amnesty waives, this one's not too surprising. Gooden's nearing the end of his career and while he's likely still capable of being a solid contributor to an NBA team, his fantasy value is nonexistent. Larry Sanders and John Henson will handle most of the big-man minutes for the Bucks this season and both will be popular fantasy picks. Sanders had his breakout season last year, while Henson's should be right around the corner.

Tue Apr 9 201318:51Drew Gooden inactive on Tuesday
Drew Gooden (illness) is inactive for Tuesday's game against the Heat.
Gooden has appeared in just 16 games all season, mostly due to coaches' decisions.
