Fri Nov 1 201311:02No decision on Andrew Bynum for Friday
Coach Mike Brown is unsure if Andrew Bynum will play on Friday after logging eight solid minutes on Wednesday.
Brown added that Bynum could be a game-time decision all season long. While he showed some promise on Wednesday, owning him in fantasy could be more of a headache than anything else this year. Proceed with caution.

Thu Oct 31 201316:52Andrew Bynum's status unknown for Fri & Sat
The Cavaliers will wait until before tip-off to determine Andrew Bynum's status for games on Friday and Saturday.
He made it through eight minutes of action unscathed on Wednesday, but is likely to be a 'game-time decision' for the foreseeable future. Anderson Varejao's starting C job is safe as long as Bynum is being eased gently back into the rotation, and anyone relying on Bynum will have to hold their breath until his status is announced pre-game.

Thu Oct 31 201301:24Andrew Bynum looks good in debut
Andrew Bynum finally returned to action on Wednesday and played pretty well in his eight minutes, hitting 1-of-5 shots to finish with three points, three rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Baby steps. The fact that Bynum played at all is a minor miracle and while his numbers weren't mind blowing, he did look like a basketball player. The key will be how he feels when he wakes up in the morning, but for now, it looks like Bynum at least deserves a spot and the end of many fantasy benches in case he can stay healthy and work his way into 20 minutes a night.

Wed Oct 30 201318:21Andrew Bynum will play in season opener
Andrew Bynum (knees) will play in the season opener against the Nets on Wednesday.
One day after Derrick Rose suited up in the season opener, Bynum will also be in action after missing the entire 2012-13 season. Although, he is expected to play in just one stretch and is unlikely to get double-digit minutes. The 26-year-old big man won't be worth starting in leagues for some time.

Wed Oct 30 201317:27Andrew Bynum may play on Wednesday
Andrew Bynum has been cleared by the Cavaliers medical staff to play on Wednesday, but a final decision won't be made until he warms and and sees how he feels.
Even if Bynum makes an appearance tonight, it's sure to be a short one. However, if you drafted him late in a fantasy draft, this is possibly a good sign for the future, assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks in the next few weeks.

Wed Oct 30 201312:35Andrew Bynum (knees) won't play in opener
Andrew Bynum (knees) has not yet been cleared to play.
This officially rules him out for Cleveland's opener, for which his status had been cryptically listed as "to be determined." He's been playing 5-on-5 for at least a week but has no clear return date, and Anderson Varejao will continue starting at C at least until Bynum is cleared for game action.

Tue Oct 29 201309:51Andrew Bynum listed as inactive for opener
Andrew Bynum (knee) has been listed as inactive for Wednesday's opener -- for now.
Rosters were due to the league by Monday morning and teams can change their inactive lists prior to each game, so the "inactive" listing is currently being spun by the Cavaliers as a procedural move in advance of Wednesday's opener. A change from inactive would seem a bit unlikely, as Bynum has yet to be cleared for full practice or game action as of Monday. Head coach Mike Brown said that Bynum has been playing five-on-five for a week and a half now, however, so while a change in Bynum's status for Wednesday is unlikely, it is not entirely out of the question.

Mon Oct 28 201317:08Andrew Bynum (knees) listed as 'day to day'
Andrew Bynum (knees) has been practicing for over a week, including full-court 5-on-5, and Mike Brown said Bynum is "day to day."
It's been a long time since we've seen Bynum on the court and a veneer of skepticism is warranted, but it sounds like he's on the verge of returning. Just remember that he has no firm return date and Cleveland will initially spoon-feed him minutes, at least until his conditioning improves and his knee responds well to playing in live games.

Sun Oct 27 201315:51Andrew Bynum practices on Sunday
Andrew Bynum participated in "most of practice" Sunday, including 5-of-5 drills.
This certainly qualifies as breaking news, although it's still too early to guess whether he'll play in any of the Cavs' three games in Week 1. He still hasn't been cleared by doctors for the opener so we're assuming he won't play, but another positive update or two in the next few days could change things.

Thu Oct 17 201319:51Andrew Bynum does contact work pre-game
Andrew Bynum did some contact work with the coaching staff before Thursday night's game.
The Cavs telecast showed him doing some work in the post. He was concentrating on back-to-the-basket moves and moving around in the paint with some contact. Bynum's feet looked very slow and he lacked a lot of lateral quickness. He didn't look like a player that's close to playing in games yet and has no timetable to return.

Mon Oct 14 201313:57Andrew Bynum joins Cavs for practice
Andrew Bynum (knees) was at practice with the team on Monday.
He hasn't been with the team and it's unlikely he was able to take on most of the activity. Bynum had ice on both of his knees and he's not likely to be be ready to start the season on time. Draft him at your own risk.

Sat Oct 12 201310:29Tyler Zeller sidelined after appendectomy
Tyler Zeller had his appendix removed on Friday after being diagnosed with acute appendicitis.
Appendectomies are relatively straight-forward procedures, but all surgery has risks and the Cavaliers haven't provided a timetable for Zeller's recovery. If his absence extends into the regular season, there'd be a bit more breathing room for Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Anthony Bennett and possibly Andrew Bynum.

Tue Oct 1 201314:28Andrew Bynum limited in Tuesday's practice
Andrew Bynum (knees) was limited in Tuesday's practice.
He still hasn't been cleared for contact and spent much of practice working on his post moves. Bynum said he's "definitely" going to play on Monday and while it's nice to see he's progressing, he still could miss the opener. It'll take a little slice of crazy to draft him, but he could be a value pick in the last few rounds of drafts.

Mon Sep 30 201319:55Bynum says he's definitely playing this year
Andrew Bynum (knees) said that he's "definitely" playing this year.
"I felt like my approach had to change," Bynum said. "I have to be more of a professional now than ever. Before I might come in and work out really hard and it might take an hour-and-a-half or two." Usually, a statement like this wouldn't be news, but it wouldn't be an absolute shock to see Bynum on the sidelines all year. He still doesn't have a timetable to return and has lost 18 pounds over the summer. The former Sixer Laker will be a risky pick in the second round of drafts.

Mon Sep 30 201315:01Bynum ramps up activity, still no return date
Andrew Bynum began basketball activities in the past two weeks, but his return date remains uncertain.
Bynum said that he will "definitely" play this season. He's just not sure when that will be. Fantasy owners who witnessed last year's sequence of fruitless injury updates will be understandably jaded about his return date, and we recommend avoiding him on draft day.

Mon Sep 23 201320:54Andrew Bynum (knee) still without a timetable
Andrew Bynum (knee) is still without a timetable to return, according to Cavs GM Chris Grant.
Grant added Bynum has made significant progress and has been working hard. The news on the injured center has resembled a broken record and there hasn't been any clear indicator when we'll see him on the court. The former Laker is not expected to play in training camp, so we wouldn't pass on proven assets in the middle rounds of drafts to take a chance on such a giant question mark.

Mon Sep 23 201315:51Andrew Bynum (knees) not cleared for contact
Andrew Bynum (knees) still hasn't been cleared for contact.
Bynum has reportedly been working out in Cleveland since July, and he's recently been running on treadmills, but it's anyone's guess when he'll be cleared for basketball activities. Fantasy owners should view him with extreme skepticism until we've seen him on the court.

Tue Sep 17 201323:48Report: A. Bynum expected to miss preseason
Sam Amico is reporting that Andrew Bynum (knees) is not expected to participate in training camp or play in the preseason for the Cavaliers.
Here we go again. Bynum, who missed all of last season with numerous knee issues and only made it through one practice, doesn't sound close to being ready for game action. We weren't really expecting any miracles, but given all the time he's had to get right, the news is disappointing. The Cavs are determined to keep Bynum out of uniform until he's fully healthy, and while that could be as soon as opening night (Oct. 30), he's going to be extremely rusty when he does eventually play. At this point, you're probably better off letting someone else draft him.

Thu Sep 5 201309:51Andrew Bynum's rehab is on schedule
Andrew Bynum (knee) said that his rehab has "all been green" and is on schedule to make a return.
He added that he has "no idea what the schedule's going to be" and has moved in the right direction every day. Bynum missed all of last season and didn't work out for the Cavs before they signed him to a two-year deal, so it's good to see that he's making progress. He was one of the best centers in fantasy hoops just two seasons ago, so he makes sense as a high-risk, high-reward pick later in drafts.

Mon Sep 2 201310:24Andrew Bynum has been working out in CLE
Andrew Bynum has been working out in Cleveland "nearly every day since he signed," according to the Plain Dealer.
The extent of the workouts is not yet known, but considering that he didn't do any sort of activity during his attempt to be signed in free agency, Bynum probably isn't doing much. He has the inside track to be the starting center for the Cavs, which should push Anderson Varejao to the bench. Of course, it's hard assume he's going to be healthy.
