Mon Dec 26 201121:46Petro starts at center and plays 29 minutes
Johan Petro started at center in the wake of Brook Lopez's foot injury, and scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting with five rebounds and a block in 29 minutes.
This is a decent performance for Petro, but we're skeptical that he can both hold minutes and also be productive with them long-term. Mehmet Okur didn't show much in the box score, but he should be able to increase his minutes and production as the year goes on.

Wed Dec 21 201123:13Petro plays well in final exhibition
Back up center Johan Petro had nine points and 10 boards off the bench for the Nets on Wednesday.
He may have solidified the back up center job in New Jersey with this performance, but isn't likely to have any fantasy value.

Sat Mar 26 201121:49Petro has nice line in loss to Hawks
Johan Petro had a season-high 12 points to go along with eight rebounds and a block in 22 minutes Saturday.
Brook Lopez was terrible tonight, allowing Petro to get some run as the Nets made a minor comeback late in the game. Continue to ignore Petro going forward.

Wed Mar 9 201113:55Petro to only be used in emergency Wednesday
Johan Petro will be active, but will only be used in an emergency situation on Wednesday.
Petro reportedly returned from London feeling "a little imbalanced" and "out of whack," and the Nets are still awaiting test results on the reserve big man. Petro is averaging 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game this season.

Mon Nov 8 201009:48Johan Petro playing poorly w/ New Jersey
Nets center Johan Petro is averaging a mere 0.8 points and 2.2 rebounds this season.
New Jersey inexplicably gave the veteran a three-year, $10 million contract in July, but he's already ceded backup center duties to Kris Humphries. Clearly he is not a fantasy asset as long as Brook Lopez is playing.

Thu Oct 21 201001:29Petro plays well for Nets
Johan Petro started in place of Brook Lopez (rest) and had eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.
As long as Lopez is healthy, forget about Petro.
Sat Jul 10 201010:49Johan Petro agrees to deal with Nets
Free agent center Johan Petro has reached agreement on a three year, $10 million deal with the Nets, according to Yahoo! Sports.
This is a reasonable deal for the veteran big man, who wound up starting 16 games for the decimated Nuggets frontcourt last year. He has never averaged more than 6.2 points or 5.1 rebounds in a season, and only has fantasy relevance in the deepest leagues.
