Wed Dec 7 201109:05Hornets hoping to re-sign Aaron Gray
The Hornets are hoping to re-sign Aaron Gray.
"I think that the coaching staff has been very adamant about getting him back and has expressed that to Aaron directly," said Gray's agent, Andy Miller. The big man has drawn interest from several teams, but it's too early to tell if any has emerged as a frontrunner for his services.

Mon Jun 27 201113:41Aaron Gray opts out of deal, now a free agent
Aaron Gray has opted out of his contract with the Hornets for next season according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
Gray's representation gave the team the news just hours after fellow big man David West also opted out of his deal. The Hornets are suddenly hurting for size with Carl Landry also scheduled to hit free agency, and it's likely that the team will need to address the situation before the start of next season.

Thu Apr 21 201101:25Aaron Gray returns from sprained ankle
Aaron Gray played through his sprained ankle on Wednesday, finishing with two points, eight boards and a block in 23 minutes.
The fact he played is impressive, but he didn't do much to thwart the Lakers tonight.

Wed Apr 20 201115:45Aaron Gray plans to play in Game 2
Aaron Gray (ankle) says he's planning to play in Wednesday's Game 2 against the Lakers.

Tue Apr 19 201118:03Gray still listed as day-to-day
Aaron Gray (ankle) remains questionable for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Lakers.
Gray rehabbed on Tuesday and took some close-range shots on the gimpy ankle. He's likely headed for a true game-time decision. The Hornets badly need the true 7-footer's size to battle with the Lakers' bigs. Gray had 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting in Game 1.

Mon Apr 18 201109:18Aaron Gray questionable for Game 2 vs LAL
Aaron Gray (ankle) said, "I've got a softball on the ankle right now" after suffering a sprain late in Sunday's Game 1.
The initial diagnosis was a mild sprain, according to Coach Monty Williams. Gray said that he's going to do everything he can to get ready for Wednesday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him sit out Game 2 against the Lakers with his team already staked to a 1-0 series lead. D.J. Mbenga would see an uptick in minutes if Gray doesn't play.

Sun Apr 17 201118:21Aaron Gray plays well, injures ankle badly
Aaron Gray hit 5-of-5 shots to finish with 12 points, a rebound and an assist in Sunday's surprising win over the Lakers, but left near the end of the game with a severely sprained ankle.
He was writhing in pain and couldn't put any weight on it, and while we'll have to wait for an official report, the guess is he's done for at least a few games. He was great today, but you'd have to be in a pretty deep fantasy playoff league for it to matter to anyone but the Hornets.

Sat Feb 12 201101:00Gray stops double-double streak vs. Magic
Aaron Gray, who has secured two double-doubles since taking over as the starting Hornets center, scored just four points on 2-of-5 shooting with eight rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocks against Dwight Howard and the Magic on Friday.
We didn't expect much, but this actually surpasses expectations and it's time we give Gray his due for the job he has done. He will go back to being irrelevant when Emeka Okafor returns, but if you're in a pinch he's worth a look as a desperation option.
Thu Feb 10 201100:26Aaron Gray starts, double-doubles
Aaron Gray started again for Emeka Okafor and had his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday.
He'll continue to start while Okafor recovers from a strained oblique, but will also be very inconsistent. He should only be considered in very deep leagues.
Mon Feb 7 201119:01Gray to start again for Hornets
Aaron Gray will make another start for the Hornets on Sunday.
Gray double-doubled with Emeka Okafor and Jason Smith sidelined on Saturday, but Smith has returned and Gray has a built-in timer -- Okafor is due back around the All-Star break.

Sun Feb 6 201101:07Gray double-doubles w/ Jason Smith ill
Aaron Gray was the next man up with Emeka Okafor (oblique) and Jason Smith (illness) out on Saturday, and double-doubled with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting with 10 rebounds and a block in 25 minutes.
Backup David Andersen also scored 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes, but frankly, with or without Smith returning soon we don't like any of them to have consistent fantasy value. Avoid this situation.
Wed Feb 2 201101:34Aaron Gray returned to action on Tuesday February 1
Aaron Gray returned to action on Tuesday February 1.
Wed Feb 2 201100:23Gray (ankle) returns to action on Tuesday
Aaron Gray (ankle) returned to action on Tuesday, scoring four points on 2-of-2 shooting with eight rebounds, one steal, and one block in 15 minutes.
He hustled tonight and played with no regard for his body, and while the boards and defensive numbers are nice, you would have to be in a massive format to even consider using him.
Fri Jan 21 201118:06Aaron Gray felled by high ankle sprain
Aaron Gray will sit out Friday's game with a high ankle sprain.
No timetable has been announced but it seems unlikely we'll see Gray in the next few weeks. He is a giant man with a serious ankle sprain, who was averaging under eight minutes in 10 appearances this season.
Tue Oct 19 201002:00Gray gets start for resting Okafor
Aaron Gray got a look at center while Emeka Okafor was rested on Monday, and finished with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting with eight rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes.
He will not matter in fantasy leagues unless Okafor gets injured, and even then he won't matter much, if at all.
Sun Jul 11 201015:33Hornets re-sign Gray
The Hornets have re-signed center Aaron Gray to a two-year contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Gray is a plodding big man who hasn't done much to inspire confidence, but he gives the Hornets some necessary frontcourt size and depth behind starter Emeka Okafor.
