Sun Dec 22 201300:39Brandan Wright scores 19 points in loss
Brandan Wright came off the bench for 19 points, six rebounds and four blocks on 8-of-10 shooting in 29 minutes on Saturday.
If you throw out Wright's four-point dud from last Wednesday, he's averaging 17 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in three of his last four games. He also looks like the center of choice for Rick Carlisle, making him worth a close look by any owner in need of a center.

Sat Dec 21 201301:20Brandan Wright meets expectations on Friday
Brandan Wright fell in line with preseason expectations in Friday's overtime loss, scoring 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting with six rebounds and two blocks in 26 minutes off the bench.
Meanwhile, DeJuan Blair went for just four and four with a steal in 21 minutes and Samuel Dalembert saw just six minutes. Wright has been on fantasy radars even while hurt with his blend of moderate rebounds and scoring, efficiency shooting the ball, low turnovers, and of course the blocks. He should be owned in all standard formats at this time.

Thu Dec 19 201301:45Brandan Wright blocks three shots
Brandan Wright blocked three shots in 13 minutes against the Grizzlies on Wednesday to go with four points and two boards.
Coach Rick Carlisle praised Wright after the game and called him an "extra weapon." This certainly wasn't the line his owners wanted after a 19-point explosion on Saturday, but the block total is where his value will lie for fantasy owners. There shouldn't be any hasty decisions made on Wright even after a bit of a letdown.

Tue Dec 17 201310:45Dirk complimentary of Brandan Wright's play
In a recent interview Dirk had nice things to say about teammate Brandan Wright.
"We play well off each other. He's good at the stuff I stink at," said Dirk. "He plays above the rim. On those rolls and little floaters and little hook shots, he's as good as anybody in this league." It's always nice to hear an endorsement of a role player from the teams best player, and these are the type of things Wright owners will want to hear. With Samuel Dalembert putting up dud after dud, and DeJuan Blair being undersized, it's reasonable to think Wright could eventually overtake the starting center position. Despite the logjam, Wright should be owned in all formats for his upside.

Sun Dec 15 201300:10Brandan Wright scores 19 in season debut
Brandan Wright started his season in excellent fashion on Saturday during a 106-93 win over the Bucks, shooting 9-of-10 from the field for 19 points with six boards and one assist in 19 minutes.
He made all five attempts from the field in the first half and really gave the Mavericks a nice interior, athletic presence. While Dirk Nowitzki did not play, almost all of Wright's minutes came at the center spot, so there should still be plenty of stock put into this game. What's more, Samuel Dalembert did not leave the bench. Based on Wright's upside for blocking shots and all the buzz from the preseason, he should be picked up in all standard leagues.

Thu Dec 12 201303:50Brandan Wright could debut on Saturday
Brandan Wright (shoulder) could make his debut in Saturday's game against the Bucks.
The Mavericks are off Thursday and Friday and it would be a welcomed sight after DeJuan Blair and Samuel Dalembert didn't play well on Wednesday at Golden State. Wright has some terrific upside for his blocks, but there is quite a bit of risk associated with picking him up considering the fluidity at the center position for Dallas.

Tue Dec 10 201318:01Brandan Wright (shoulder) won't return Wed.
Brandan Wright (shoulder) will not be ready to return for Wednesday's game vs. the Warriors, according to coach Rick Carlisle.
Owners who have waited this long won't mind another DNP or two, as long as it means Wright is fully healthy when he returns. DeJuan Blair's ascension to the starting lineup complicates B-Wright's outlook, however, as initially he'll be battling Samuel Dalembert for backup minutes.

Fri Dec 6 201313:48Brandan Wright returns to practice Friday
Brandan Wright (shoulder) returned to practice on Friday and said there's an "outside chance" he can play on the team's road trip.
He did mention he won't play on Saturday at Portland, but the Mavs will play at Sacramento on Monday and at Golden State on Wednesday, so it's at least possible he suits up for those. Wright has been out for the season with a shoulder injury and had been doing some 5-on-0 work before this news. DeJuan Blair has recently moved into the starting lineup and even played a season-high 29 minutes on Wednesday. It'll be a bit of a logjam at center, but Wright makes for an interesting pickup in deeper leagues for his potential block totals.

Fri Dec 6 201313:41Brandan Wright hoping to return
Brandan Wright said in a recent interview, "whenever I feel good, whenever my legs feel good and I'm comfortable out there, I'll be ready to go."
A rather vague proclamation, but the Mavs could really use Wright back, especially with the lackluster play of Samuel Dalembert as of late. Upon Wright's return, he could seriously challenge Dalembert for the starting gig, and is capable of putting up decent numbers in points, rebounds, and blocks, stay tuned.

Fri Nov 29 201318:21Brandan Wright doing 5-on-0 work
Brandan Wright (shoulder) was doing some 5-on-0 work at practice on Friday.
He isn't taking contact and has no timetable to return. Wright was playing well last season and would really help the Mavs' interior defense. He's worth stashing in some deeper leagues while owners of Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair might want to prepare for a loss of some minutes.

Tue Nov 26 201314:03Brandan Wright (shoulder) may practice soon
Brandan Wright (shoulder) has been shooting around and hopes to return to practice next week.
An early December return isn't out of the question, and Wright is worth watching closely if you're in need of a big man who can provide high-percentage points and a handful of rebounds and blocks. Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair present an obstacle for minutes, but it wouldn't be shocking to see Wright surface with the most playing time of the three.

Fri Nov 22 201319:50Wright (shoulder) still has no timetable
Brandan Wright (shoulder) still has no timetable to return.
Updates have been sparse and owners should feel free to move along. This update doesn't change his timetable, but it's enough to signal that a return is not imminent.

Fri Nov 8 201309:45Brandan Wright still not practicing
Brandan Wright continues to recover from his left shoulder injury, but there is still no timetable on when he migh start practicing with the team.
When he does start practicing and returns to game action, guys like Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair could see their minutes pinched a bit. Had Wright not gotten hurt, he would have had some sleeper potential this season, but at this point, we'd just like to see him play in a game.

Fri Oct 25 201311:42Still no timetable on Brandan Wright
There is still no timetable on a return date for Brandan Wright, who will miss "an undetermined amount of time" to start the season with a fractured left shoulder.
Samuel Dalembert is going to be on the court a lot as long as he can stay out of foul trouble and has had a nice preseason. DeJuan Blair is also going to get some run, but both players will take a hit when Wright is back. We just have no idea when that's going to be.

Mon Oct 14 201312:32Brandan Wright (shoulder) out indefinitely
Brandan Wright (fractured shoulder) isn't sure if he'll play on opening night, and for now he's "just got to take it day-to-day."
Wright missed the 2009-10 season with a shoulder injury, but that was soft-tissue damage and was a "night and day" difference from the fracture he's dealing with now. His indefinite absence thrusts DeJuan Blair and Bernard James into bigger roles, while putting inordinate pressure on Samuel Dalembert and Dirk Nowitzki to stay healthy and play solid minutes.

Thu Oct 10 201320:59Brandan Wright has fracture in his shoulder
Brandan Wright suffered a small, non-displaced fracture of his left shoulder and is out indefinitely.
He's not expected to have surgery, but the fracture should cost him some time in the regular season. It's a tough break for Wright after a productive and eye-catching offseason. Samuel Dalembert will take on most of the minutes at center and the team may have to call upon DeJuan Blair more than anticipated.

Wed Oct 9 201320:10Brandan Wright (shoulder) out Wednesday
Brandan Wright will miss Wednesday's game due to a sore left shoulder.
He bulked up over the summer hoping to be able to bang with opposing big men and was coming off a big game against the Pelicans on Monday. This is probably a precautionary move in order to protect their second-string center.
