Fri Mar 22 201301:06Jason Thompson scores four points
Jason Thompson scored four points with four boards and one block in 21 minutes against the Wolves on Thursday.
His production has dropped off and the emergence of Patrick Patterson is the culprit for him. Thompson and the Kings have a sub-par schedule the rest of the way, so he's a prime candidate to cut in several leagues.

Thu Mar 21 201308:34Jason Thompson listed as probable starter
Jason Thompson (head) is listed as the probable starter on Thursday against the Timberwolves.
Thompson was forced to leave Tuesday's game after colliding with DeAndre Jordan and required stitches near his eye, but apparently he's expected to give it a go on Thursday. If Thompson is forced to sit this one out, Patrick Patterson would likely step into the starting lineup with Chuck Hayes seeing more burn off the bench.

Wed Mar 20 201301:31Jason Thompson leaves after head injury
Jason Thompson collided with DeAndre Jordan on Tuesday and didn't return to the game after receiving stitches, finishing with just two points and two rebounds in 15 minutes.
With Patrick Patterson available and playing well, Thompson simply wasn't needed to come back in the game. Thompson scored just seven points in his previous game, but had scored in double figures in six straight prior to his last two duds. He's in a timeshare with Patterson now, but his injury doesn't appear to be serious and he's still the Kings' starting power forward until further notice.

Sun Mar 10 201323:46Jason Thompson notches 18 pts in defeat
Jason Thompson finished Sunday's narrow loss with 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 37 minutes.
He knocked down 8-of-13 field goals and became a focal point once DeMarcus Cousins was ejected after a Flagrant-2 foul. Cousins may well be suspended vs. Chicago on Wednesday, but Thompson remains a risky option with just two games on the schedule next week.

Thu Mar 7 201301:55Jason Thompson still hot for Kings
Jason Thompson had 17 points, eight rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes on Wednesday.
Thompson is playing very well over the past few weeks, but beware that the Kings play just two games next week.

Wed Mar 6 201300:59Jason Thompson hits 9-of-11 shots in loss
Jason Thompson hit 9-of-11 shots for 18 points and six rebounds in Tuesday's loss to the Nuggets.
After a three-game stretch of scoring eight or fewer points, Thompson had 18 points and 14 boards in his previous game before tonight's gem. He's a fine player to own right now, but just beware that the Kings play two games next week, before finishing 4-3-3-3-2, which is not great news for their owners in playoff leagues.

Sun Mar 3 201322:01Jason Thompson notches 18 & 14 in victory
The Kings cruised on Sunday behind an efficient game from Jason Thompson, who scored 18 points on 6-of-8 FGs and 6-of-6 FTs, with 14 rebounds and two steals.
JT did his damage in only 28 minutes, and none of Sacramento's starters broke the 31-minute barrier in the rout. He's gone through some rough patches this season, but Thompson has resurfaced as a reliable source of points (10.8), rebounds (6.8) and blocks (0.8).

Fri Feb 22 201323:16Thompson nears double double on Friday
Jason Thompson scored nine points on 3-of-9 shooting with 10 rebounds and two blocks in 30 minutes on Friday.
Thompson has earned the starting spot in his teammates' eyes, but there is no telling what Keith Smart will do when Patrick Patterson arrives. There is no management component to the Kings at all right now, so it's unclear if there will be an internal push to prove their trade wasn't a classless salary dump. Thompson is putting up decent numbers right now, so give him a look.

Thu Feb 14 201302:08Jason Thompson goes for 17 & 9 in loss
Jason Thompson had 17 points, nine rebounds and a block on 6-of-11 shooting in 36 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Mavericks.
His slump is officially over, and he's averaging 17.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks over his last five, while getting 36 minutes and hitting 61 percent of his shots. Prior to the hot streak, he scored nine or fewer points in five straight games and played 21 minutes or less in four of those. If he's still available in your league, pick him up.

Sun Feb 10 201301:26Thompson's 21 points help Kings beat Jazz
Jason Thompson scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Saturday's win vs. the Jazz, making 9-of-11 field goals in 36 minutes.
JT added a steal and a swat without any turnovers, capping a worthy follow-up to his 23 & 10 line on Monday. He has a combined one assist and two blocks in his past eight games, which speaks to his fantasy limitations, but anyone who owns him should ride him until he cools off.

Tue Feb 5 201301:16Jason Thompson goes for 23 points in loss
Jason Thompson played 45 minutes against the Jazz on Monday and had 23 points, 10 boards, two steals and one block.
He took full advantage of DeMarcus Cousins getting ejected for calling a ref a "bleeping female." Thompson's fantasy value has dropped off a cliff prior to this explosion, so he would probably need Cousins to miss time in order to make his way back to standard league rosters.

Sat Feb 2 201323:31Jason Thompson very quiet off Kings' bench
Jason Thompson came off the Kings' bench on Saturday for the first time this season, notching four points, four rebounds and one steal.
With Carmelo Anthony playing PF, Keith Smart opted for a smaller lineup than usual. However, he also shied away from using Thompson to match up with Amare Stoudemire in the second unit, and we've stopped guessing where his rotations will go on any given night. Even as a starter, JT had scored double-digit points just twice in the past 14 games.

Fri Feb 1 201322:29Thompson plays 31 minutes vs. Sixers
Jason Thompson played 31 minutes on Friday against the Sixers, scoring six points on 3-of-9 shooting with four rebounds and one steal.
Thompson had a lot of friends and family in the Philly crowd tonight, which is the kind of thing that will tilt a playing time decision in Sacramento. The Kings have given up on Keith Smart and their organization has officially been Maloofed, so players like Thompson that were barely hanging onto value have gone in the toilet over the past few weeks.

Sat Jan 26 201302:32Thompson scores 14 points
Jason Thompson (knee) started and scored 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting with five rebounds over 33 minutes in the Kings' 105-95 loss to the Thunder on Friday.
Thompson has been a victim of Keith Smart's rotations but may be getting back in the coach's good graces, and we wouldn't read into the knee soreness too much at this point. Thompson has been openly upset with the developments in Sacramento, on and off the court. We need to see more production before jumping on him as a pickup in standard formats.

Fri Jan 25 201308:15Jason Thompson battling left knee soreness
Jason Thompson has been battling soreness in his left knee.
Over his last 13 games, Thompson is averaging just 4.6 rebounds. Over the same span, rookie Thomas Robinson is averaging 5.8 rebounds in 15 minutes per game, compared to 24.9 minutes for Thompson. Thompson admitted he needs to be more aggressive, but Robinson's play is making a strong case for more minutes. "Rebounding is desire and effort, and (Thompson has) got to find that again," Keith Smart said.

Mon Jan 21 201316:07Jason Thompson plays season-low 17 minutes
Jason Thompson played a season-low 17 minutes vs. the Hornets, scoring seven points with six rebounds and three turnovers.
DeMarcus Cousins is finally asserting himself and the results haven't been pretty for JT, as he's scored single-digit points in six of the past seven games. His rebounding has also tailed off and he doesn't provide any steals or blocks, making it advisable to cut him in standard leagues.

Sat Jan 19 201300:36Thompson goes for three and four vs. MEM
Jason Thompson scored three points on 1-of-6 shooting with four rebounds in 21 minutes on Friday against the Grizzlies.
This had nothing to do with the Grizzlies and everything to do with an offensive scheme that is outclassed at your local high school. Tyreke Evans or DeMarcus Cousins trade off bad shot after bad shot, with a little bit of John Salmons mind-numbing point guard play to top it off. This leaves the Kings' most consistent player this season in Thompson off to the side, watching in horror.

Thu Jan 17 201301:37Jason Thompson struggles again Wednesday
Jason Thompson had another bad game on Wednesday, hitting just 3-of-8 shots for six points and two rebounds in 22 minutes.
We can't blame this one on Thomas Robinson, who played just seven minutes after crashing his car on Tuesday night. We're still worried about Robinson coming on, but even if he doesn't, the Kings are often playing a small lineup and Thompson hasn't scored more than six points or grabbed more than four rebounds in four straight games. He should eventually bounce back, but if you want to move him for a hot free agent, it should be a safe move for now.

Sun Jan 13 201300:29Jason Thompson held to season-low two points
Jason Thompson scored a season-low two points vs. the Heat on Saturday, adding four rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes.
The game was a blowout and Thompson was soon benched in favor of Thomas Robinson, who posted a double-double in 24 minutes. JT's paltry steals (0.5) and blocks (1.0) tend to limit his value, but it's hard to fault his steady 11.6 points and 7.5 rebounds.

Fri Jan 11 201301:22Jason Thompson cools off in a loss
Jason Thompson scored just six points with three rebounds in 30 minutes against the Mavericks on Thursday.
It was an overdue dud for Thompson. His consistency on offense has been a pleasant surprise this year and he's shooting 51.9 percent from the field this season. Thompson scored in double figures in 10 of his last 11 games and he is worth owning in all leagues.
