Wed Oct 9 201316:04Beasley, Haslem, Birdman doubtful Thurs.
Michael Beasley (calf), Udonis Haslem (knee) and Chris Andersen (foot) are all doubtful to play on Thursday against the Pistons.
"It's day-to-day," Erik Spoelstra said. "Everybody's progressing. Everybody was able to get on the court (Wednesday) and do something." In good news for the Heat, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James are expected to play against Detroit.

Mon Oct 7 201318:11Michael Beasley out w/ mild calf injury
Michael Beasley will not play on Monday due to a "mild" calf injury.
Expectations are low for Beasley as he attempts to rehab his image with the Heat this season. Even if he buys into Miami's championship-or-bust attitude and thrives in a bench role this season, he's unlikely to sustain reliable fantasy value.

Sun Oct 6 201319:08Michael Beasley not playing in scrimmage
Michael Beasley will not participate in Sunday's scrimmage.
Greg Oden, Chris Andersen, Roger Mason Jr. and Udonis Haslem will also sit this one out. There have been no reasons given for their absences, but some of them are obvious. We'll update once the specifics are available.

Mon Sep 30 201312:13Beasley doesn't have specific expectations
Head coach Erik Spoelstra said he doesn't have any "specific expectations" for Michael Beasley.
There's little reason to think the Heat would be inclined to have any expectation for Beasley since he's been in the business of disappointing people for the past few years. The Suns waived him over the summer thanks to a marijuana charge along with horrible play, so he's unlikely to be a major part of Miami's rotation.

Wed Sep 11 201316:52Michael Beasley signs with the Heat
Heat sign F Michael Beasley.
"Michael had the best years of his career with us. We feel that he can help us," Pat Riley said. It's not saying much that he had his best years since his career has been a disaster. His contract is non-guaranteed and is no lock to make the roster. The Suns waived him after Beasley was charged with marijuana possession, but his 40.5 percent from the field last season didn't help his cause either. He's not on the fantasy radar.

Sat Sep 7 201316:16Heat considering adding Michael Beasley
The Heat are "considering the possibility" of signing Michael Beasley, according to Yahoo! Sports.
To be clear, there has been no offer made and nothing is imminent. Beat writer Tim Reynolds added that the Heat are not interested in signing the trouble forward. Beasley's checkered history suggests he'll have to go on a team with veteran leadership and rebuilding teams might not even want to deal with the headache, so Miami makes sense in that regard. He had a great chance to produce for Phoenix, but squandered what could be his last chance to be a regular contributor to an NBA team.

Tue Sep 3 201316:17Suns officially waive Michael Beasley
Suns waive F Michael Beasley.
Both sides agreed to end his contract and as part of the deal Phoenix will pay him a reduced amount in both 2013-14 and 2014-15. Beasley is coming off a lousy season in which he shot under 41 percent from the field, and his off-court behavioral issues will make teams wary of giving him much guaranteed money. With Beasley gone, P.J. Tucker and Gerald Green are the Suns' clear-cut primary options at SF.

Tue Sep 3 201315:07Suns expected to release Beasley this week
The Suns are expected to release Michael Beasley by the end of the week, according to ESPN.com
Beasley averaged just 10.1 points on 40.5 percent shooting last season, and his release was widely expected after he was arrested earlier this summer on suspicion of marijuana possession. The Suns will pay him $6 million this season, and they can pay his remaining $3 million guarantee over three years via the 'stretch' provision.

Sun Sep 1 201322:47Suns' writers anticipate Beasley being waived
There is growing sentiment among Suns' writers that Michael Beasley will not be with the team for training camp.
Beat writer Paul Coro refers to September as "the last month of Michael Beasley's Suns career," and John Gambodoro of Arizona Sports expects Beasley to be waived in the next few days. The Suns may waive Beasley via the 'stretch provision', but since it's past Aug. 31 they'd have to pay him a full $6 million this season, while spreading his remaining $3 million guarantee over three years.

Fri Aug 30 201312:09Michael Beasley resolution coming soon?
Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said the Caron Butler trade has nothing to do with Michael Beasley and the team will have a resolution on Beasley in "the next week or so."
"Trading Caron Butler has nothing to do with the Beasley situation," McDonough said. "We thought this was a good deal for basketball reasons. I'd imagine over the next week or so we would have resolution [regarding Beasley]." The Suns do need to waive some players to get to a roster of 15, so the rumors are going to be flying around with the mercurial forward.

Thu Aug 29 201317:20Suns could trade for another exciting player
Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said the team made the trade with the Bucks to add "another exciting player" from the extra cap space.
"This deal gives us significant cap space as well as the flexibility to trade for another exciting player," McDonough said. Butler has $8 million on his contract for this season, then will become an unrestricted free agent. Assuming rookie Alex Len signs, the Suns will have 17 players with guaranteed deals, so they have more work to do in order to bring on another player. Even though Michael Beasley could be in line for minutes at small forward, he's probably one of the first players that the Suns might waive.

Thu Aug 22 201322:34Caron Butler teaching Michael Beasley
Caron Butler said that he's willing to mentor Michael Beasley.
Well, someone has to do it. Beasley has been in trouble basically since day one. What's more, his production has been sub par since he was selected second in the 2008 draft. He shot just 40.5 percent from the field last season. He has a lot of work to do as an asset for the Suns.

Wed Aug 7 201313:24Suns may use stretch provision on Beasley
According to Suns beat writer Paul Coro, Michael Beasley's recent arrest for marijuana possession isn't likely to allow Phoenix to terminate his contract.
The Suns can still use the 'stretch provision' to unload Beasley, but the benefits diminish if he's not waived by Aug. 31. He'll earn $6 million this season and his 2014-15 salary is guaranteed for $3 million (out of a possible $6.3 million), so they'd have to pay him a total of $9 million to stop wearing their uniform.

Tue Aug 6 201313:58Michael Beasley arrested on marijuana charges
Michael Beasley was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona on suspicion of marijuana possession, according to Arizona Central's 12 News.
Behavioral problems have been a theme throughout Beasley's NBA career. He had a pot-related infraction during his NBA 'rookie camp' in 2009, he was cited by police for possession of marijuana during the summer of 2011, and he was arrested for criminal speeding and driving without a license last February. The 2011 incident would have resulted in a five-game suspension if it hadn't happened during the lockout, and the new CBA retains a five-game penalty for third-strike marijuana infractions, so there's a good chance that he'll start the season with an unpaid suspension.

Fri May 10 201315:00New GM: Beasley has growing up to do
New Suns GM Ryan McDonough said Michael Beasley "has come growing up to do."
McDonough was referring to both the current sexual assault investigation surrounding Beasley and his play on the court. He's 24 years old, has already played four three teams and has been labeled as a team cancer. "Michael has made mistakes and has some growing to do, but he is a talented young player," said McDonough. "Whoever the next coach is, he and I are going to try and help him see the value of hard work and hope he learns from those mistakes." Beasley is entering the second year of a three-year deal he signed with the Suns last offseason.

Tue Apr 16 201301:26Michael Beasley returns and doesn't score
Michael Beasley returned to the lineup on Monday and did not score in four minutes.
His wife gave birth to their 11-pound baby girl last week and Beasley missed the last three games. Markieff Morris and Luis Scola are playing well, which has essentially taken Beasley out of the rotation.

Mon Apr 15 201314:44Michael Beasley finally rejoins Suns
Michael Beasley has rejoined the Suns after missing a three-game road trip for the birth of his daughter.
We're guessing this means he's a good bet to play Monday night against the Rockets, but how many minutes he'll get, and what kind of shape he'll be in, is anyone's guess.

Sat Apr 13 201319:15Michael Beasley won't return on Saturday
Michael Beasley has yet to rejoin the Suns after the birth of his daughter, which rules him out for Saturday's game.
It's understandable that Beasley isn't rushing back for a meaningless showdown with the Wolves, though he should be ready for Monday's home game vs. the Rockets. Jared Dudley, P.J. Tucker and Marcus Morris each get marginal boosts in his absence.
