Chase Budinger (knee surgery) confirmed that he's targeting a March return.
"March hopefully, but who knows?" he said. Budinger was expected to be out until at least March, so owners can just monitor his progress from the waiver wire with the fact that he's still a ways away.

Mon Nov 26 201208:26Chase Budinger to have checkup in a month
Chase Budinger (knee surgery) is expected to be reexamined in "about a month."
Budinger's surgeon has told him that he'll be back by March, which would mark four months after surgery. His initial timetable was three to four months, so that outlook sounds about right. There is no reason to stash him.

Sat Nov 24 201209:48Chase Budinger aiming to return by March
Rick Adelman said Friday that Chase Budinger is aiming to return by March.
That would fit right in line with the initial timeline, but hopefully you've moved on already. Budinger certainly isn't worth holding a bench spot.

Tue Nov 13 201211:55Report: Chase Budinger out 3 months
Chase Budinger (left knee) will miss three months after having surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear, a league source told Adrian Wojnarowski.
The reported timetable will take Budinger into at least early March. Hold on to him at your own risk, but the gamble doesn't seem worth it. If Brandon Roy (knee) and J.J. Barea (foot) can stay healthy, they should benefit. Rookie Alexey Shved also stands to garner attention given the Roy and Barea's injury woes.

Sun Nov 11 201220:25Chase Budinger needs surgery on torn meniscus
Chase Budinger will have surgery later this week to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee.
A timetable for his recovery will be given after the surgery, but his absence will likely be measured in months. The hits keep coming for the Wolves, who are already playing without franchise cornerstones Ricky Rubio (knee) and Kevin Love (hand). Once they return from their own injuries, Brandon Roy (knee) and J.J. Barea (foot) should be the primary fantasy beneficiaries of Bud's absence, while rookie Alexey Shved will also be thrown into the fire. Let's all hope Luke Ridnour's herniated disk stays put.

Sat Nov 10 201222:39X-rays negative for Chase Budinger (knee)
Chase Budinger has been diagnosed with a left knee injury, but X-rays were negative and he'll be re-evaluated after the Wolves travel to Dallas.
It sounds like Minnesota avoided disaster, but Budinger's status for Monday's game is up in the air. With only three games on the schedule this week, owners in weekly leagues should look elsewhere for production.

Sat Nov 10 201222:13Chase Budinger leaves w/ left leg injury
Chase Budinger left Saturday's game with a left leg injury, and he appeared unable to put any weight on the leg as he headed for the locker room.
The injuries are piling up for the Wolves -- Budinger was starting at SG because Brandon Roy is already nursing a knee injury. With J.J. Barea also dealing with a sprained foot, Alexey Shved and Malcolm Lee will be forced to assume major roles in the rotation until healthy bodies filter back into the lineup.

Sat Nov 10 201219:02Chase Budinger will start at shooting guard
Chase Budinger will draw the start at shooting guard on Saturday for the injured Brandon Roy.
Budinger put up 18 points last night and played 27 minutes. Brandon Roy did travel with the team, so the Washington product might not be out for an extended period of time. However, Budinger's 3-point range makes him well worth a look tonight and he should be picked up is some standard formats.

Sat Nov 10 201204:50Budinger scores 18 points with game-winner
Chase Budinger scored 18 points on 4-of-6 shooting (1-of-3 3PTs, 9-of-10 FTs) with four rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Pacers.
Budinger, who scored the game-winner on a last-second backdoor cut, is the favorite to start at shooting guard for however long Brandon Roy (knee) is out, though Roy traveled with the team and could be back relatively soon by the latest reports. Regardless, Budinger has averaged 15 points and 1.3 treys over his last three games and is worth a look.

Mon Nov 5 201223:52Budinger scores 16 points, hits late dagger
Chase Budinger hit 7-of-10 shots (including two threes) for 16 points in Monday's comeback win against the Nets.
Budinger was part of the second unit push that brought the Wolves back, and hit a dagger three at the end of the game to put things out of reach. He has yet to truly take advantage of Kevin Love's absence, but he's officially worth a look after tonight's result.

Sat Nov 3 201205:47Budinger scores nine points off the bench
Chase Budinger scored nine points off the bench on Friday, hitting 3-of-12 shots (0-for-5 from deep) with five rebounds and one block in 21 minutes.
Budinger looked like a beneficiary of the Kevin Love injury but he struggled in his bench role tonight, as the Wolves looked really bad against a Kings team that played even worse. He'll likely have better nights than this, but calling him a must-own player in 12-team formats is much too optimistic.

Sat Oct 27 201200:11Chase Budinger scores 20 in Wolves win
Chase Budinger made another start at small forward and had 20 points, four assists and four 3-pointers on 6-of-8 shooting in 30 minutes on Friday.
He's been the leading scorer for the Wolves since Kevin Love suffered a broken hand, and looks like a great way to blow a late pick. If you're sitting on Derrick Williams, dropping him for Budinger makes sense. The question is, how big of a role will he have when Love returns? Until it happens, Budinger is starting material in fantasy leagues.

Thu Oct 25 201201:24Chase Budinger goes for 21 off the bench
Chase Budinger scored 21 points, was 5-of-8 from deep and had four rebounds in 20 minutes Wednesday.
Budinger is seeing more time with Kevin Love sidelined and this performance was encouraging, especially the three-point shooting. More nights like this and Budinger could force his way into fantasy consideration.

Sat Oct 20 201203:16Budinger scores 10 in loss to Bulls
Chase Budinger hit 4-of-8 shots for 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 24 minutes off the bench in Friday's preseason loss.
Budinger is expected to see extra time at small forward with Kevin Love sidelined and tonight he came through with a decent stat line. Budinger is only worth a look in deeper leagues, and is even a long shot at serious fantasy value if taken late. But the increased minutes potential is intriguing and he should be monitored closely for the rest of the preseason and over the first few games of the regular season.

Sat Oct 13 201223:27Chase Budinger quiet in fill-in start for MIN
Chase Budinger couldn't capitalize on Andrei Kirilenko's absence on Saturday -- he started at SF and played 37 minutes, but scored only six points of 2-of-11 shooting.
Budinger shot over 40 percent from downtown last season but he made just 1-of-5 tonight, one reason this line is anomolous. Rick Adelman is happy with Budinger's play this preseason, and he should have a healthy role in support of Kirilenko.

Tue Oct 2 201217:40Chase Budinger (hamstring) sits out 5-on-5
Chase Budinger (strained left hamstring) didn't play in the Wolves 5-on-5 scrimmage on Tuesday.
The injury is "not serious" and Budinger did participate in less strenuous parts of practice. The Wolves are wisely being cautious, but he should be fine for the preseason and opening night.

Wed Aug 15 201209:01Chase Budinger happy to be back with Adelman
Chase Budinger said that the Timberwolves are "definitely a good fit," and also revealed he's been working on his ball handling and his pick-and-roll game.
"The greatest thing about the trade is that I'm back with head coach Rick Adelman, who I played with for two years," he said. "I know his system and I know the coaches very well. Coach Adelman told me that he wanted me to be more involved in the pick-and-roll, so that's what I've been working on a lot." Budinger had more fantasy appeal before the signings of Brandon Roy and Andrei Kirilenko.
