Fri Apr 11 201411:02Chase Budinger out again for Wolves
Chase Budinger (ankle) is out for Friday's game against the Rockets.
Budinger is once again missing an opportunity to put something positive on tape with Kevin Martin (foot) sidelined. Look for Robbie Hummel to start.

Wed Apr 9 201419:00Chase Budinger will not play on Wednesday
Chase Budinger (ankle) will not play against the Bulls on Wednesday.
He suffered an ankle sprain over the weekend and it's too bad because the Wolves are down to the bottom of the barrel for wings. With all of there guys out, Robbie Hummel should start and see all the minutes he can handle. Quite frankly, he's not that great, so he's only a low-end play.

Mon Apr 7 201413:55Chase Budinger (ankle) may be done for year
Chase Budinger's sprained ankle will sideline him on Tuesday and coach Rick Adelman doesn't expect him to play again this season.
Budinger was starting with Kevin Martin (heel) out of commission, but he hurt himself just one minute into Saturday's game. Robbie Hummel may assume the starting role as a consequence, and he's worth a look if you need a cheap source of points and 3-pointers.

Wed Apr 2 201412:41Chase Budinger frustrated after knee surgery
Chase Budinger admitted that he's been frustrated during a "very challenging, very grueling" recovery from multiple knee surgeries.
His struggles are evident in his 38.5 percent shooting this season, which has allowed Corey Brewer to keep his spot as the Wolves' starting SF. "Next year is where you'll see where he's really at," said coach Rick Adelman. "He just needs a whole summer to rehab without any other setbacks." Given Budinger's injuries and limitations this season, fantasy owners should approach him warily during fantasy drafts next year.

Sun Mar 2 201400:40Chase Budinger plays 14 minutes Saturday
Chase Budinger played just 14 minutes and played six points on Saturday.
Kevin Martin returned to action tonight and it hurt Budinger's minutes quite a bit. If you've been rolling with Budinger in Martin's absence, it's time to hit the waiver wire and find a better option.

Thu Feb 20 201400:58Chase Budinger cools off with five points
Chase Budinger scored five points with two boards, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes.
He hit only one 3-pointer and shot 2-of-8 tonight. Budinger's minutes have been at least 27 in each of his last four games, but Kevin Martin's evaluation on Friday will serve as an expiration date for owners in most leagues. If there's a hot free agent from the deadline, he's certainly on the chopping block.

Mon Feb 17 201419:56Grizzlies talking deal for Chase Budinger
The Grizzlies are discussing a deal with the Timberwolves centered around Chase Budinger and J.J. Barea.
The Grizzlies would like to include Tayshaun Prince and may also include Tony Allen. The Grizzlies have been wanting to add some perimeter shooting and Prince isn't really needed much more for defense with the emergence of James Johnson. None of these players would see much more playing time than they're currently receiving, so there's little reason to pick them up.

Thu Feb 13 201401:29Chase Budinger playing well for Kev Martin
Chase Budinger started again for injured Kevin Martin (thumb) and had 12 points, two steals and three 3-pointers on 4-of-13 shooting.
The shooting wasn't great, but he played 27 minutes and is averaging 15 points, four rebounds, one steal and more than two 3-pointers in his last three games. As long as Martin is out, Budinger is worth a look in all formats.

Tue Feb 11 201418:57Chase Budinger feeling better in recent games
Chase Budinger said that his conditioning and health have improved, and he's averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in the past two games.
"I feel like my legs are starting to come back, wind is getting a little better and I'm just happy that I'm seeing improvements each week," said Budinger, who missed the start of the season following knee surgery. He was thrust into a bigger role when Kevin Martin broke his thumb this week, and Budinger's scoring and 3-point shooting should be on fantasy owners' radars with K-Mart likely to miss games after the All-Star break.

Mon Feb 10 201423:45Chase Budinger scores 15 in 28 minutes
Chase Budinger scored 15 points in 28 minutes against the Rockets on Monday with seven boards and one 3-pointer.
He shot 5-of-14 from the field and surprising attempted 11 shots from inside the arc. Budinger getting so many minutes and shots with Kevin Love back speaks louder than his 19-point game on Monday, so he's worth a look for owners seeking 3-pointers.

Sat Feb 8 201423:31Chase Budinger scores 19 points in start
Chase Budinger played 29 minutes in a start in place of Kevin Martin (thumb) on Saturday, scoring a season-high 19 points with five boards, one assists, one steal and three 3-pointers.
The Wolves really needed a guy to space the floor tonight with Kevin Love (quad) out and Budinger was the solution. He scored 22 points combined over his previous six games, so tonight's output is certainly a big surprise. Budinger has been hot before and could be worth a look, but there's almost no way he'll have many more nights like this one. We'd feel a lot better about picking him up with Love in the lineup.

Sat Feb 8 201419:57Chase Budinger starting for Kevin Martin
Chase Budinger is starting in place of Kevin Martin on Saturday night vs. the Blazers.
Chances are this will stick for the Wolves with Martin (thumb) out indefinitely. Budinger's knee injury has kept his minutes in check and he's only played 14.8 per game over his last five. He is also really struggling on the season, shooting just 33.3 percent from the field. Unless you really need 3-pointers, there isn't much incentive to picking him up until he proves otherwise. J.J. Barea could also be used more when the team needs offense. Alexey Shved should see more minutes, but his terrible percentages have never really helped fantasy owners much.

Wed Feb 5 201411:37Budinger slow to regain form after surgery
Chase Budinger admitted that he's struggling with a lack of confidence since returning from knee surgery.
Budinger's knee feels fine but his legs aren't quite strong enough yet, so his shots are falling short and he's made only 31.9 percent of his field goals. He'll turn the corner eventually but it's not worth waiting around for in fantasy leagues.

Mon Jan 27 201422:33Chase Budinger scores season-high 12 points
Chase Budinger scored a season-high 12 points vs. the Bulls on Monday with four boards, one assist and two 3-pointers on 5-of-7 shooting.
He has been in a funk since his debut, making just 28.6 percent from the field in his 16.2 minutes prior to tonight. The Wolves might go with a smaller lineup and it could open up a handful of minutes for Budinger, but there's little reason to add him in most leagues.

Sun Jan 12 201421:46Chase Budinger plays season-high 21 minutes
The Spurs held Chase Budinger to five points on 2-of-8 shooting on Sunday, but he was able to play a season-high 21 minutes in his third game back from knee surgery.
Corey Brewer had two points and one rebound in 23 minutes and his starting job may only last as long as Budinger's minute-limit. Luc Mbah a Moute is at the bitter end of the rotation but he could eventually surface with a decent role and it's hard to rely on any of Minnesota's SFs.

Sat Jan 11 201409:31Chase Budinger (knee) on 18-minute limit
Chase Budinger (knee) will be on an 18-minute limit in games for at least the next two weeks.
Budinger had six points and one rebound in 11 minutes during his season debut on Friday, and this minute-limit decimates his short-term fantasy outlook. It's worth noting that starting Corey Brewer played 28 minutes with Bud back in the lineup, five below his season average.

Thu Jan 9 201400:59Chase Budinger debuts with six points
Chase Budinger made his season debut from knee surgery and had six points, a rebound and a 3-pointer on 2-of-3 shooting in 11 minutes of Wednesday's loss.
Budinger will join a crowded bench rotation and should only be given a look in very deep leagues.

Wed Jan 8 201419:06Chase Budinger will return to action
Chase Budinger (knee) will make his season debut on Wednesday against the Suns.
Budinger has not played all season and the Wolves need some more perimeter scoring. Most fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach with Budinger. His return could impact the minutes of Corey Brewer once Budinger finds his groove.

Mon Jan 6 201417:55Chase Budinger still out on Monday
Chase Budinger (knee) will not play against the Sixers on Monday night.
He has not played all season and is getting closer to a return. The Wolves do need some more perimeter scoring and are one of the worst teams on mid-range jumpers, so Budinger would help. Most fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach with Budinger.

Thu Jan 2 201415:01Chase Budinger (knee) 'close' to returning
Chase Budinger (knee) will not play on Saturday but coach Rick Adelman said that he's "close" to returning.
Budinger went through another full-court, full-contact practice on Thursday but the Wolves are being understandably cautious about his return, given that he's recovering from a second surgery on the same knee. He may eventually start at SF ahead of Corey Brewer, but until that happens fantasy owners should monitor him from a distance.
