Wed Oct 9 2013 | 17:01 | Kenyon Martin resting up for 'real show' |
Kenyon Martin says he's resting during Wednesday's preseason game in preparation for the "real show." |
He says he's healthy and ready to go for the real season, but his first injury could be just around the corner. It's hard to see him having much fantasy value given the fact he should be playing limited minutes. |

Fri Oct 4 2013 | 14:25 | Martin, Chandler out as a precaution |
Kenyon Martin and Tyson Chandler were both held out of Friday's practice for precautionary reasons. |
There's nothing to see here. Neither player needs to be pushing it hard at this stage of the preseason and we'll let you know if anything worsens. |

Wed Oct 2 2013 | 16:10 | Kenyon Martin limited in practice Wednesday |
Kenyon Martin was limited in practice on Wednesday. |
He did some work on the stationary bike and coach Mike Woodson said Martin's health is "good." The Knick keeping Martin may have been wiser than they thought given the issues with Amare Stoudemire's knees, but he's still unlikely to see a major role while Andrea Bargnani and Tyson Chandler are healthy. |

Wed Jul 24 2013 | 15:57 | Agent: Knicks, Kenyon Martin agree to deal |
The Knicks and Kenyon Martin reached agreement on a contract Wednesday, according to his agent. |
The Knicks' interest in retaining Martin wasn't a secret. The veteran forward was a steal after the Knicks signed him during the season. Martin's defense and rebounding helped hold the frontcourt together while the Knicks dealt with injuries to Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler. Martin won't impact any fantasy formats this season, but he will be a solid depth player for New York. |

Thu Jul 11 2013 | 10:48 | Kenyon Martin getting full attention from NYK |
Kenyon Martin is getting the "full consideration" from the Knicks on a contract. |
"Kenyon is getting our full consideration," Knicks GM Glen Grunwald said. Martin was a great pickup off the scrap heap last season and he held the frontcourt rotation together while Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler were hurt. He won't be worth a fantasy draft pick, especially with the addition of Andrea Bargnani. |

Tue Jul 9 2013 | 15:52 | Knicks shifting attention to Kenyon Martin |
The Knicks are likely shifting their attention to re-signing Kenyon Martin. |
It sounds like the Knicks won't be able to bring on Elton Brand and the they could use the $1.7 million left in their mid-level exception on K-Mart. Martin would fit the bill for what the Knicks need as a bench big, but they're is also interest in players like Brandan Wright. |

Wed Jul 3 2013 | 20:03 | Kenyon Martin getting interest from teams |
Kenyon Martin has received interest from the Knicks, Nets, Clippers, Lakers and Spurs. |
He's played for 60 percent of those teams in his his 13-year career. K-Mart's knees were never really in good shape and at 35 years old, he's unlikely to get multiple years on his contract. He scored 8.8 points per game in his 11 starts last year as an emergency-type option for the Knicks last season. |

Thu Jun 27 2013 | 17:46 | Martin could end up in BK if KG deal happens |
Knicks beat writer Frank Isola theorizes Kenyon Martin could end up in Brooklyn if the Nets execute their reported trade for Kevin Garnett. |
The rumored deal would gut Brooklyn of much of its front-court depth while also saddling it with some heavy-duty contracts for the 2013-14 season. Martin wouldn't cost much and showed he's still useful during his run with the Knicks last season. Also worth noting is the mutual affinity between Martin and new Nets coach Jason Kidd, who were teammates with the Knicks last year and with the Nets years back. |

Thu May 16 2013 | 09:48 | Kenyon Martin dealing with wrist injury now |
Kenyon Martin did not go through practice on Wednesday because he's dealing with an "apparent new wrist injury," a source told the New York Post. |
Martin's protective wrist wear is "precautionary" and the "sore wrist isn't considered extensive," but it's not clear exactly what the injury actually is. He wasn't on the injury report prior to Thursday's Game 5, so we're guessing this is nothing serious. |

Tue May 14 2013 | 10:53 | Kenyon Martin going through shootaround |
Kenyon Martin (illness) is going through shootaround on Tuesday. |
Martin's bug was not believed to be severe, so it's a good sign that he went through shootaround. He's unlikely to be at full strength, but it would be surprising if he didn't play, especially since he said he planned to play at shootaround. Officially, he's a game-time decision. |

Tue May 14 2013 | 08:59 | Kenyon Martin's bug not believed to be severe |
Kenyon Martin's (illness) bug is not severe, according to Mike Woodson. |
It seems like Martin's absence is more precautionary than anything else, and it would be a real surprise to see him be forced out of a critical Game 4 for the Knicks. "We've just got to be careful there," Woodson said. |

Mon May 13 2013 | 10:12 | Kenyon Martin does not practice on Monday |
Kenyon Martin (illness) did not practice again on Monday. |
Martin also missed Sunday's session, and while we'd be surprised if he didn't play in Game 5, two straight days of not participating in practice indicates just how sick he is right now. |

Sun May 12 2013 | 11:49 | Kenyon Martin not at practice due to illness |
Kenyon Martin (illness) did not practice on Sunday. |
Martin led the team with seven rebounds on Saturday, which was a massive area of weakness for the Knicks. They allowed 18 offensive rebounds and 20 second-chance points to the Pacers, so that'll have to be something the Knicks will need to fix by Tuesday. K-Mart should be ready. |

Wed Apr 24 2013 | 15:32 | Woodson says STAT won't affect Martin minutes |
Mike Woodson says Amare Stoudemire won't affect Kenyon Martin minutes whenever STAT returns from knee surgery. |
Martin has been excellent since signing with New York and his presence on defense has been noticeable. Woodson says STAT and Martin could play together with Martin aiding Stoudemire on the defensive side of the ball. Of course, none of this is an issue just yet as Stoudemire is still not ready to return to the lineup. |

Kenyon Martin (ankle) practiced on Thursday and is expected to play in Game 1 vs. Boston. |

Kenyon Martin tested his sprained ankle for the first time in running drills on Wednesday and reiterated he expects to be ready for the playoffs. |
"Whatever it is, I'm playing," he said when asked to put a percentage on his health. "This is the time of year injuries really don't matter, especially for me." The Knicks will need Martin as a crucial reserve behind Tyson Chandler (neck), who has dealt with health issues of his own. Martin had X-rays which came back negative. |

Sun Apr 14 2013 | 13:47 | Kenyon Martin out vs. Indiana on Sunday |
Kenyon Martin (ankle) will not play against the Pacers on Sunday. |
His ankle injury isn't of the garden variety and he's likely out for the season. K-Mart was helpful for the Knicks with Tyson Chandler's neck injury, so they got a good reward out of minimal risk. Martin could be ready for the postseason. |
