Fri Apr 26 2013 | 11:06 | Report: Jodie Meeks has torn ankle ligament |
An MRI on Jodie Meeks' ankle revealed a partial ligament tear, a source told the Los Angeles Daily News. |
To put it bluntly, Meeks' season could be over. Already listed as doubtful for Friday's Game 3, it's hard to imagine how he plays again in the first round, but he'll continue to undergo treatment and take anti-inflammaroties in order to keep his hopes of playing again alive. Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock, the expected starting backcourt for Game 3, will play a ton for the Lakers. |

Thu Apr 25 2013 | 19:01 | Jodie Meeks (ankle) doubtful for Game 3 |
Jodie Meeks (sprained ankle) is doubtful to play in Game 3 on Friday. |
Meeks is having an MRI on Thursday, the results of which should be known soon, but L.A. is preparing as though he won't be available. With Kobe Bryant and Steve Blake (hamstring) already sidelined, and Steve Nash (hamstring) also doubtful, the Lakers backcourt is running on fumes. |

Thu Apr 25 2013 | 08:04 | Jodie Meeks to have ankle MRI on Thursday |
Jodie Meeks (ankle) will have an MRI on Thursday. |
Originally, Meeks was set to have his MRI on Friday, but the Lakers pushed it up a day after he was forced to sit during Wednesday's Game 2 loss to the Spurs. Depending on the results of the MRI, it could be yet another injury to the Lakers, and the team really can't afford anyone else to go down in the backcourt. The team is already missing Kobe Bryant (Achilles) and could be without both Steve Blake and Steve Nash due to hamstring injuries as well. |

Wed Apr 24 2013 | 20:09 | Jodie Meeks (ankle) a game-time decision |
Jodie Meeks is a game-time decision due to his sprained left ankle. |
While it sounded like he was a lock to play earlier in the day, the Lakers will wait and see how he looks in pre-game workouts before clearing him to go. In short, if he's not moving close to 100 percent, he might be held out for precautionary reasons. |

Jodie Meeks (ankle) went through shootaround on Wednesday and is expected to play in Game 2 vs. the Spurs. |
Despite Meeks not practicing on either Monday or Tuesday, the expectation was always that he would play in this one. He's likely to come off the bench again with Steve Nash and Steve Blake starting in the backcourt. |

Tue Apr 23 2013 | 14:46 | Jodie Meeks sits out another practice |
Jodie Meeks (ankle) sat out practice again Tuesday but is expected to play in Wednesday's Game 2. |
Meek sustained a mild sprain in the first half of the the Game 1 loss to the Spurs. He ended up playing 19 minutes and scoring just four points. Meeks shouldn't be counted on as anything more than a mediocre spot-up 3-point specialist. |

Mon Apr 22 2013 | 14:35 | Jodie Meeks expected to play Wednesday night |
Jodie Meeks (ankle) didn't practice Monday but is expected to be available for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Spurs. |
Meeks spent Monday's practice session getting treatment, but it would be surprise if he wasn't in uniform Wednesday night. Meeks said after the game Sunday that the ankle was stiff and sore but he doesn't expect to miss games. |

Sun Apr 21 2013 | 21:19 | Jodie Meeks says ankle injury isn't too bad |
Jodie Meeks says his left ankle is sore and stiff after spraining it on Sunday, but that he should be ready to play in Wednesday's Game 2 against the Spurs. |
"It's stiff, it's sore, but I should be good," he said. He'll rest and receive treatment on Monday and Tuesday, and we'd be surprised if he's not ready for Wednesday's Game 2. |

Sun Apr 21 2013 | 16:15 | Jodie Meeks sprains ankle vs. the Spurs |
Jodie Meeks suffered a sprained left ankle in the first half of Sunday's game against the Spurs and went to the locker room. |
He is expected to return after getting it re-taped. Meeks played 31.2 minutes per game in his previous 10 contests, but that number should come down with Steve Nash back in the lineup. |

Mon Apr 15 2013 | 00:01 | Jodie Meeks quiet in 36 minutes of action |
Jodie Meeks played 36 minutes as the Lakers' starting SG on Sunday, but he scored only eight points with two 3-pointers, four rebounds and four assists. |
It wasn't a total loss for anyone who plugged Meeks into their lineups, but we certainly hoped for more with Kobe out and unlimited minutes available. His numbers in eight starts this season don't inspire much confidence for L.A.'s final regular season games -- 7.5 points, 1.3 threes, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals. |

Sat Apr 13 2013 | 16:13 | Jodie Meeks will start on Sunday |
Jodie Meeks will start in place of Kobe Bryant on Sunday. |
Meeks has been horrible lately, shooting 32.4 percent from the field in his six April games. He should get about 30 minutes per game, but Steve Blake will also get his fair share of the action at shooting guard. |

Wed Apr 3 2013 | 01:58 | Jodie Meeks struggles, still plays 37 minutes |
Jodie Meeks struggled from the field, shooting 2-of-9 for eight points with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers against the Mavericks on Tuesday. |
He's made 2.0 triples per game over his last six and that seems like a fair expectation with Metta World Peace out of the lineup. Meeks logged 37.3 minutes per game over his last four games and should be owned in all leagues that count triples. |

Thu Mar 28 2013 | 22:33 | Jodie Meeks gets 39 minutes vs. Milwaukee |
Jodie Meeks played 39 minutes against the Bucks on Thursday, shooting 4-of-12 from the field for 11 points with two boards, one assist, two steals and one 3-pointer. |
It's not a line that will whet your appetite, but 12 shot and 39 minutes for spot-up shooter like Meeks does bode well for him. He is starting now and the Lakers have minimal depth on the wing behind him. If you're seeking some threes down the stretch, he has an outside chance to flirt with 2.0 triples per game the rest of the way. |

Thu Mar 28 2013 | 00:47 | Jodie Meeks scores five points in start at SG |
Jodie Meeks started at shooting guard on Wednesday, finishing with five points, four rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer on 2-of-7 shooting in 35 minutes. |
Kobe Bryant slid over to small forward with Metta World Peace out for the season with knee surgery, and while Meeks didn't do much tonight, the minutes are something to be happy about. We'd still rather own Antawn Jamison and his bum wrist, but Meeks is now worth keeping a close eye on if he continues to start. |

Wed Mar 27 2013 | 12:08 | Jodie Meeks practicing with starting lineup |
Updating a previous item, Jodie Meeks is going through shootaround with the starting lineup in advance of Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves. |
We noted that Meeks could be a new starter with World Peace (knee) going down, and it sounds like he'll get the first crack at it with Kobe Bryant sliding down to small forward. Meeks will help owners in need of triples and potentially points, but that's about all he'll do. |

Wed Mar 27 2013 | 09:32 | Jodie Meeks could slide into starting lineup |
Jodie Meeks could be promoted to the starting lineup after Metta World Peace tore his lateral meniscus. |
Meeks started the second half of Monday's game when World Peace was originally forced out, and it's possible the Lakers will go that way again with Kobe Bryant sliding to small forward. The other options are to either start Antawn Jamison or Earl Clark at small forward, and it's not clear what Mike D'Antoni plans to do at this point. World Peace is expected to be out indefinitely. |

Tue Mar 26 2013 | 01:11 | Meeks scores 13 points off the bench |
Jodie Meeks started the second half of Monday's game after Metta World Peace (knee) exited the game, scoring 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 24 minutes. |
Of the potential replacements for World Peace, Meeks is the healthiest of the bunch and is worth a look as a speculative add, but he'll need MWP to remain out and owners needing threes need only apply. |

Mon Mar 18 2013 | 00:07 | Jodie Meeks invisible in start at SF vs. SAC |
Jodie Meeks started and played 28 minutes vs. the Kings, but he finished with six points, one steal, one turnover and nothing else to his credit. |
One of his two field goals came from downtown, but that hardly satisfies owners who spot-started him with Kobe Bryant (ankle) unavailable. With just two games on the Lakers' schedule next week there should be better options on all waiver wires. |

Fri Mar 15 2013 | 22:58 | The Meeks inherited nothing on Friday |
Jodie Meeks missed all seven of his field goal attempts to finish with zero points, four rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes on Friday. |
Kobe Bryant could not make it into the second half of action and Meeks started in his place. This is gut punch to anybody that started Meeks, but he'll shoot the ball better on most nights and is worth watching while Bryant's status is in doubt. Feel free to drop him for a hot free agent with Bryant and Pau Gasol returning sooner rather than later. |
