Mills tweaked the ankle in shootaround, but there's nothing to see here from a fantasy perspective. Gary Neal is locked into the backup PG role behind Tony Parker.

Sun Nov 11 201201:04Patty Mills quiet in start at PG for Spurs
Patty Mills stepped into the Spurs' starting lineup on Saturday, replacing Tony Parker (illness), but he scored just seven points with four assists and one steal in 23 minutes.
Backup PG Gary Neal exploded for 27 points off the bench, and Mills isn't worth picking up while Parker is day-to-day.

Sat Nov 10 201205:47Mills takes advantage of garbage game vs. SAC
Patrick Mills took advantage of Friday's pickup game against the Kings, scoring 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting with two rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes.
Mills took advantage of the Kings' lax defense, and was boosted by the widespread flu going through the Spurs' locker room. There isn't anything to get excited about here, though we think we'll be calling Mills' name at some point down the road.

Tue Oct 23 201209:49Patty Mills behind Gary Neal on depth chart
Patty Mills is behind Gary Neal on the Spurs PG depth chart.
Not a huge surprise as that is how we had it on our depth chart, but it sounds like Mills will be spending most of his time toward the end of the bench again this season.

Sun Oct 14 201220:16Patty Mills (ankle) could practice Monday
Patty Mills (sprained ankle) hopes to resume practicing on Monday.
The Spurs don't play another exhibition until Saturday vs. the Heat, so even if Mills rests another day or two he shouldn't miss any games.

Tue Oct 9 201214:56Patty Mills sidelined with sprained ankle
Spurs reserve guard Patty Mills will miss the next two preseason games with a sprained ankle.
This is a tough break for Mills, as training camp and the preseason are important for him to gel with the Spurs. It doesn't sound like a severe sprain though, so he should be ready for the start of the season.

Sun Aug 5 201210:10Patty Mills scored 39 points for Australia
Patty Mills scored 39 points to propel Australia past Great Britain on Saturday -- he shot 14-of-22 from the field, including 5-of-7 from downtown.
Mills delivered a TKO in just 30 minutes of action, and is primed to have a solid season off the Spurs bench. He'll be a hot waiver wire pickup if anything happens to Tony Parker in 2012-13, considering his stats in three starts last year -- 23.3 points, 2.7 threes, 3.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.0 steals.

Fri Jul 13 201218:45Spurs re-sign Patrick Mills on Friday
The Spurs officially re-signed G Patty Mills on Friday.
Per team policy, contract details were not released. In 16 games (three starts), Mills averaged 10.3 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 16.3 minutes, but really showed his upside in the last two games of the season with the Spurs sitting most of their starters. Mills set a career-high with 27 points on April 25th, only to surpass it the following night with 34 points and a career-high 12 assists. Mills will be a backup to Tony Parker next season, so unless Parker's eye injury lingers, Mills will not have much fantasy relevance.

Wed Jun 27 201217:29Patty Mills opts out, now Spurs restricted FA
Patty Mills has officially declined his player option for 2012-13, but the Spurs can still match any offer for him as a restricted FA.
It's not immediately clear why Mills is restricted after declining a player option, but that comes from reliable beat writer Jeff McDonald. Mills averaged 10.3 points and 2.4 assists in 16 games with the Spurs, while shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from downtown.

Patty Mills said that he is "considering" opting out of his contract.

Fri Apr 27 201204:48Mills hits for 34 & 12; Blair posts 22 & 13
Patty Mills set career-highs in points (34) and assists (12) in the Spurs' win over the Warriors on Thursday, hitting 14-of-25 shots with five rebounds, one steal, and one block in 43 minutes.
Once Gary Neal was ruled out for the final two games, it seemed as academic as it can get with Pop around that Mills would put up some big numbers. DeJuan Blair threw his weight around with 22 points and 13 boards, Danny Green played eight minutes, Boris Diaw scored five points with seven boards, four assists, and a three, Tiago Splitter had just four points and five boards in seven minutes, and Stephen Jackson made love to a DNP-CD.

Thu Apr 26 201201:14Patty Mills drops 27 in start for Spurs
Patty Mills started for the resting Spurs and went off for a career-high 27 points, to go along with five assists, a steal and three 3-pointers on 9-of-23 shooting in 35 minutes of Wednesday's win at Phoenix.
Blazers fans are gritting their teeth on this one, as Raymond Felton hasn't exactly been welcomed with open arms, while Mills was a favorite in Portland. Mills could do it again on Thursday against the Warriors, and if you picked him up prior to tonight's game, congratulations are in order. Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Gary Neal have all been ruled out for Thursday, but it's still hard to tell if the Spurs will turn Mills loose again tomorrow. Our guess is they will.

Tue Apr 24 201201:45Mills scores nine points off the bench
Patty Mills scored nine points on 3-of-4 shooting (all threes) with two rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 12 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Mills could step into a prominent role if Tony Parker is rested and Gary Neal's "stinger" caused Gregg Popovich to play things safe. Although there's not much, if anything to go on for an add here, with two games and a few key breaks Mills could be a nice pickup for Wednesday and Thursday's contests.

Tue Apr 10 201203:28Mills starts for Tony Parker on Monday
Patrick Mills started for Tony Parker (rest) on Monday, scoring nine points on 4-of-10 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds, four assists, and a steal in 24 minutes.
Mills is worth a look whenever he starts on a day off for Parker, but that's about it.

Mon Apr 9 201220:32Mills, Green, S-Jax, Blair, Diaw to start Mon
Patrick Mills, Danny Green, Stephen Jackson, Boris Diaw, and DeJuan Blair will start in Monday's game against the Jazz.
Your guess is as good as ours tonight, as this starting lineup doesn't preclude Gary Neal, Kawhi Leonard, Matt Bonner, or Tiago Splitter from being the big winners of Gregg Popovich's Wheel of Rest.

Wed Apr 4 201223:06Patty Mills gets night off against Celtics
Patty Mills, who had 20 points on Tuesday, didn't even play on Wednesday against the Celtics.
This is a typical move by coach Gregg Popovich, as no team's players are more susceptible to a big game followed by a night off than the Spurs.
