Tue Apr 3 201221:21Patty Mills scores leads Spurs w/ 20 points
Patty Mills led the Spurs to an easy win over the Cavaliers on Tuesday when he hit 8-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers on his way to 20 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Mills came off the bench and was one of 13 players to see decent run for the Spurs tonight. They were up big for most of the 125-90 win over the Cavs, and we'd recommend you leave Mills on waivers for now unless you're in a 20- or 30-team league.

Spurs signed G Patrick Mills to a contract.
Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. Mills is expected to serve as Tony Parker's backup at point guard, and now his signing is official after clearing up work visa issues. He's highly unlikely to come into consistent fantasy value barring an extended absence from Parker.

Thu Mar 22 201211:49San Antonio Spurs sign Patty Mills to deal
Patty Mills has signed a contract with the Spurs and could join the team "within a week, pending the resolution of work visa issues."
We had previously noted that Mills' delay was a result of government work visa issues, so this should have been expected. Mills' agent said he's "eager" to resume in the NBA, and he should immediately see minutes as Tony Parker's (hamstring) backup. The deal is believed to be for two years. We'd like to see the severity of Parker's injury and how Mills looks in a game before recommending him.

The Blazers renounced Mills' rights and multiple teams were quick to jump on him, as he's a solid backup PG with both NBA and international experience. He should slide into the Spurs' rotation before long, playing the backup PG role vacated by retiring T.J. Ford.

Patty Mills' Chinese team Xinjiang alleged that he faked his hamstring injury before releasing him on Tuesday.
Mills had been out almost two weeks with the ailment, but the team didn't believe he was truly injured. "Due to a fake injury, the Xinjiang team has cut the foreign player Mills," said GM Hou Wei. This is just another friendly reminder that basketball in China doesn't exactly work the same way it does stateside.

Sun Aug 28 201114:43Mills eyeing Australia for overseas stance
According to the Herald Sun, Patty Mills will sign with the Melbourne Tigers.
Mills was linked to the Turkish team Anadolu Efes a few weeks ago, but he never put pen to paper and has decided to play in Australia instead. He wasn't a lock to make the Trail Blazers despite the team extending a qualifying contract offer, so hopefully he hones his skills overseas.

Fri Aug 5 201110:13Patty Mills to decide in next few weeks
Patty Mills wrote on Thursday that he has not signed a contract with any team, but will be "making [his] decision in the next couple of weeks."
Mills was said to have agreed on a deal with the Turkish club Anadolu Efes, but that was a premature report. He's a backup guard in the NBA but could have a featured role on the right squad in Europe -- it is likely that Mills won't have an 'NBA-out' for the end of the lockout.

Wed Aug 3 201111:56Report: Patty Mills to play with Anadolu Efes
According to Ismail Senol, Anadolu Efes has agreed to terms with Patty Mills.
Mills was mulling overseas offers, and it appears he finally found one to his liking. With the signing, Senol confirmed that Keyon Dooling will no longer be joining the team, as they have chosen Mills instead of him. Mills will join Sasha Vujacic on the team. He will not have an "out" clause in the deal.

Wed Jun 29 201120:46Blazers make qualifying offer to Patty Mills

Wed May 11 201112:44Mills an unrestricted free agent
Blazers PG Patty Mills is an unrestricted free agent.
The Blazers have a lot of decisions to make this offseason, particularly at point guard. Andre Miller has a $7.8 million team option and Mills has some upside that they likely won't want to get away. GM Rich Cho has to decide if Mills is ready to take the reigns -- we doubt the St. Mary's product is.

Thu Mar 3 201102:38Patty Mills back in rotation for Blazers
Patty Mills played 14 minutes and hit 6-of-8 shots for 14 points and three assists Wednesday.
He's not a fantasy-worthy player in most leagues, but is back in the rotation to stay. If Andre Miller were ever to go down, Mills would be worth a look.

Thu Jan 6 201100:35Patty Mills outplays Andre Miller Wednesday
Patty Mills played 28 minutes and hit four 3-pointers on his way to 14 points and three assists Wednesday, while starter Andre Miller had just 11 points and four dimes in 19 minutes.
We didn't see the game, but know that Miller was in there late, meaning he's healthy. Maybe Mills simply outplayed him tonight, but as of now, Miller is still the point guard to own in Portland. Watch for news on this developing situation on Thursday and Friday, and keep a close eye on Mills is he out-minutes Miller again on Friday against Minnesota.
Sun Jan 2 201123:40Patty Mills scores season-high 14 points
Trail Blazers guard Patty Mills set a new career-high with 14 points vs. the Rockets on Sunday. He made 6-of-12 FGs with two 3s, five assists, and five steals.
Mills also turned the ball over four times, but he was undeniably effective and helped add some punch to a solid showing from Portland's bench. Still, he's only worth owning in deep leagues while Andre Miller is around.
Wed Dec 8 201002:24Mills goes for nine points and seven dimes
Patrick Mills did not start Tuesday's game as previously discussed by coach Nate McMillan, but still played 29 minutes off the bench on his way to nine points on 4-of-9 shooting (no threes) with three rebounds and seven assists.
McMillan decided to start Brandon Roy and Wesley Matthews in the backcourt, but Mills looked pretty good tonight and locked up the backup PG job. He won't have any fantasy value going forward with Andre Miller returning from his one-game suspension.
