Tue Oct 30 201208:27Henry, Aminu to be free agents next season
The Hornets will not pick up the fourth-year contract options on Xavier Henry or Al-Farouq Aminu.
As a result, both players will become unrestricted free agents at the end of the season. Aminu was drafted No. 8 overall in 2010, while Henry was the No. 12 overall pick in the same draft class. Although Aminu will start at SF for the Hornets on opening night, both former lottery selections have had underwhelming careers to date.

Fri Oct 26 201211:15Xavier Henry unlikely to be in the rotation
Xavier Henry is unlikely to have a large role in the rotation when the season begins.
Henry was the No. 12 pick in the 2010 draft, but he's had a multitude of injuries that have impacted his development. Now fully healthy following a sprain of his MCL earlier in the preseason, Henry hopes he can make an impression and earn consistent playing time, but he's got to stay healthy to do so.

Fri Oct 19 201200:15Henry (knee) returns to action on Thursday
Xavier Henry (knee) returned to action on Thursday against the Hawks, scoring three points on 1-of-6 shooting with five rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes.
It's a win for Henry to simply get on the court, but if the Hornets end up without Eric Gordon's services for any length of time they'll need Henry's help. He hasn't done enough to warrant much fantasy attention, as his first step is simply not to have a setback.

Wed Oct 17 201216:09Xavier Henry (knee) hopes to play Thursday
Xavier Henry (MCL strain) is hopeful that he can return to action on Thursday.
Henry is eager to earn a bigger role in New Orleans' rotation, but he can't do that from the sidelines. "It's been a little frustrating," he said. "But there's no time for me to sit out." His development could prove critical if Eric Gordon (knee) can't stay on the court.

Mon Oct 15 201210:39Xavier Henry returns to practice on Sunday
Xavier Henry (knee) returned to a full practice on Sunday.
Henry sat the previous three games due to a sore right knee, but Monty Williams is still unsure of exactly how close Henry is to returning to game action. For that reason, we'll leave him sidelined and the Hornets are hopeful he can get on the court sooner rather than later.

Fri Oct 12 201220:24Henry (knee) held from Friday's game
Xavier Henry (knee) did not play in Friday's exhibition game against the Rockets.
Henry's right knee has been a problem since arriving in the NBA, and at this point we're wondering if he can simply get on the court and stay on the court. He has no fantasy value until he can prove that.

Wed Oct 10 201219:27Xavier Henry still dealing with right knee
Xavier Henry injured his knee in Sunday's preseason opener and he will not play in Wednesday's preseason game.
"Right now I would say I'm going to hold him out," coach Monty Williams said. "But he practiced today but we didn't do a lot of contact. But he's still a bit sore." Henry has a pretty well-rounded fantasy game, but we'd have to see something out of him before endorsing him as a sleeper pick in deeper leagues.

Mon Sep 3 201208:41Xavier Henry's knee 100 percent healthy
Xavier Henry (knee) said that he's "healthy now."
Henry wants to "bring energy, scoring, defense" to the Hornets, and added "that's what they've been looking for me to do." Now that his knee is healthy, Henry will enter a big season as he looks to prove his worth after being the No. 12 overall pick in 2010. With the lack of depth at SF in New Orleans, Henry could very well see extended time at the position. Keep an eye on him in training camp.

Fri Jul 27 201216:24Henry has surgery to repair meniscus tear
Updating a previous item, Hornets general manager Dell Demps said that Xavier Henry had arthroscopic surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee on Friday.
Henry is expected to be recovered sufficiently to participate in training camp, which starts at the end of September. With Trevor Ariza (Wizards), Marco Belinelli (Bulls) and Jarrett Jack (Warriors) all on new teams this season, Henry could get some run as a backup SG in New Orleans. Henry played in all five of the Hornets' summer league games, averaging 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists and could be a sleeper this year in deeper leagues.

Fri Jul 27 201215:08Xavier Henry had minor knee procedure
A source tells Jimmy Smith of the New Orleans Times-Picayune that swingman Xavier Henry had a minor knee procedure.
Details of the procedure are very limited right now, but as soon as more information becomes available, we will be sure to pass it along. Henry will take on a larger role with the Hornets this year with Trevor Ariza (Wizards), Marco Belinelli (Bulls) and Jarrett Jack (Warriors) all on new teams this season. Henry is set to be the backup SG in New Orleans and with only injury-prone Eric Gordon ahead of him, he is a potential deep sleeper in fantasy circles.

Sat Mar 3 201202:38Henry scores career-high 19 points vs. DAL
Xavier Henry scored a career-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 24 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Trevor Ariza (illness) was inactive and this is likely Henry's best line of the year. If Ariza misses anymore time, we'll still probably lean toward recommending Al-Farouq Aminu (six points, 3-of-12 FGs, eight rebounds, three assists) as the spot-play.

Xavier Henry (ankle) will return to action on Monday against the Spurs.
It is asking too much for Henry to be productive after an injury-prone start to his NBA career, but the Hornets aren't exactly stocked right now with talent. We'll let you know if Henry can make any waves upon returning.

Sat Jan 21 201212:29Xavier Henry (ankle) could play next week
Xavier Henry (ankle) has a "great chance" of returning to action next week.
Hornets coach Monty Williams views Henry as more of a SF than a SG, and sounds like he'll find a way to fit Henry into the rotation. "We don't want to just put him on the floor just to get a look at him," said Monty. "We think he can help us."

Mon Jan 9 201216:01Hornets see Henry as a small forward
Coach Monty Williams said he sees Xavier Henry as more of a small forward than a shooting guard.
Henry is currently rehabbing from a serious ankle sprain and is expected to miss another 10-14 days. When he returns, he'll be battling for minutes with Trevor Ariza and Al-Farouq Aminu.
