Thu Oct 10 201312:10Royce White to debut for 76ers on Friday
Royce White is expected to make his Sixers debut on Friday against the Celtics.
He was allowed to skip the team's two-game trip to Europe, but is planning to fly to games this season when necessary, and drive to games that aren't too far from home. It's anyone's guess how much or how well White will play for the Sixers this year, but it does appear that this season will be much different from last year, when he clashed with the Rockets in several areas. If he has a good preseason, he might be worth a late-round flier in deep leagues, but let's see him play before going there.

Fri Oct 4 201309:51Royce White won't make trip to Europe
Royce White is not with the team for its preseason trip to Europe.
The team said they are giving White "a pass." He said his fear of flying was not the reason he sat out his entire rookie year, but not flying to Europe with the team does raise some concerns. To be clear, no official reason has been given on why the 22-year-old forward isn't making the trip. The Sixers preseason starts in Spain on Sunday.

Sat Sep 28 201313:10Royce White: flying fears overblown in media
Royce White said his fear of flying is not the reason he sat out his entire rookie season last year.
White said his flying anxiety was misconstrued to appear full-blown, a "glaring" misconception. "The plan was and always will be from now on in this league is to fly when I have to and drive when I can." The Sixers are rebuilding and if White can settle in with the team there's no reason he won't be able to carve out some playing time. Regarding this season, "I don't like to look at it as a second chance or a last chance. I like to look at it as my first chance," said White.

Fri Sep 27 201314:03Royce White to fly in an airplane?
John Finger said on Twitter Friday that Sixers forward Royce White says he will fly on an airplane this season.
While that's really all we know, it's definitely a step in the right direction. If White buys in for the Sixers and is ready to travel with his teammates, he could actually be ready to make an impact this season. Especially with the news that Arnett Moultrie (ankle surgery) will miss half the season and Kwame Brown (hamstring) is also sidelined. We still need to see what role White will have, if any, but this should be looked at as good news.

Wed Sep 25 201319:15Royce White working out with the Sixers
Royce White is with the Sixers for pre-training camp workouts.
"He is slowly getting to a level that we want to try to bring him to," Sixers coach Brett Brown said. White has not done much to prove he's capable of being in the NBA, but he could get some playing time with a strong camp. He's only on the radar in deep leagues for now.

Fri Sep 6 201309:16Royce White denies domestic violence charges
Royce White "vehemently denies" the allegations of domestic violence from June 22, according to a statement from his lawyer.
"Royce vehemently denies the allegations and is looking forward to a speedy and just resolution of these unfortunate and unfair claims," the statement said. "It is all too easy to make allegations, especially when directed at a person who is in the public eye." White's career has been full of distractions and hopefully he can start making some headlines on the basketball court soon.

Wed Sep 4 201309:09TMZ rumor: Royce White investigated for abuse
Royce White is allegedly under investigation on suspicion of domestic abuse, according to the celebrity-rumor site TMZ.com.
White's ex-girlfriend, Tania Mehra, reportedly filed a police report alleging that White assaulted her on June 22, causing a laceration over her right eye. According to an unnamed police officer, "The victim said she had lied [about the true cause of the injury] because the suspect played for the NBA and [she] did not want the incident to damage his career." This TMZ report has yet to be verified by other sources, but it doesn't bode well for White or his future in the NBA.

Sat Aug 31 201310:08Royce White viewed as a throw-in for 76ers?
Furkan Aldemir was reportedly the "primary target" in the 76ers' trade with Houston, which also netted them Royce White and a draft pick.
The Rockets are paying White's $1.7 million salary and it seems the Sixers view him as a low-risk freebie in their deal for Aldemir. White may play for the Delaware 87ers in the D-League, but he's unlikely to join the Sixers unless he overcomes his fear of flying.

Thu Aug 29 201310:50Royce White to open mental health center
Royce White announced a partnership with Bee Busy Wellness Center to create the Royce White Institute of Mental Health in Houston.
He hasn't been quiet about his struggles with anxiety while in Houston, but he was able to impress Sixers GM Sam Hinkie enough to bring him aboard. While his career as a basketball player hasn't taken off yet, it's nice to see White is doing some community work.

Tue Jul 23 201314:36Hinkie on Royce White: He's wildly talented
Sixers GM Sam Hinkie referred to newly acquired Royce White as "wildly talented."
White clearly has a fan in Hinkie, who helped bring him to Houston with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2012 draft. With the Sixers in all-out tank mode, the franchise can afford to stash White and see what happens down the line. If he ever gets his anxiety and off-court issues straightened out, they'll have a nice piece.

Fri Jul 5 201320:02Rockets trade Royce White to Sixers
The Rockets have traded Royce White to the Sixers.
He's been a headache from day one with the Rockets and wasn't going to be a member of the Summer League team this month. White left the D-League without the Rockets permission earlier this year and has taken his complaints about the Rockets publicly. The Sixers are unlikely to give up much in this deal.

Wed Jul 3 201312:06Royce White won't join HOU Summer League team
As expected, Royce White will not be a member of the Rockets' Summer League team.
There are no signs of resolution in the messy situation between the Rockets and White, whom they drafted No. 16 overall in 2012. He played 16 games in the D-League last year, averaging 11.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 personal fouls in 26 minutes per game, but he left the team in the postseason because of the "hectic" schedule (his team went on to win the championship without him).

Fri Apr 26 201308:03Stern: Rockets handled Royce White very well
NBA Commissioner David Stern said the Rockets have "handled the (Royce White) situation as well as it could under the circumstances."
At this point in the White saga, it's hard to guess when or if he'll ever see the floor in Houston. He finished his rookie season without playing a single minute in the league and only seeing sporadic action in the D-League.

Tue Apr 9 201312:15Report: White unlikely for D-League playoffs
Royce White is unlikely to play for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers during the postseason, sources told Mark Berman of Fox 26.
White is not going to spend a single second on the court for the Rockets during the regular season and it's not clear what his future holds after an up-and-down first year. His contract is guaranteed for next season.

Fri Mar 29 201308:09Royce White again at odds with Rockets plans
Royce White's choice to leave the D-League at the end of the season and skip the playoffs is not set in stone, according to GM Daryl Morey.
It sounds like White and the Rockets are at odds again, something that has been a common theme during his turbulent rookie season. Morey said he expects White to play the remaining regular season out and will reach a decision about the playoffs after that. "We'll see where it goes from there," he said. "The plan is to play it by ear." Morey and the organization have been tremendously patient with White, but it's anyone's guess if the rookie will actually contribute on the court in the future.

Wed Mar 27 201317:43Royce White won't go on the road with Vipers
Royce White says he will stay with the Rockets' D-League affiliate the rest of the regular season but won't continue during the postseason because of the "hectic" schedule.
Of course, these comments came after perhaps White's best game as a member of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. White had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists in his first game since returning to the Vipers following an unapproved absence that White says was recommended by the Rockets' team doctor. The troubled first-round pick also reportedly told CNN during his absence that staying in hotels is unhealthy for his anxiety order. It remains to be seen if or when White will play with the Rockets or in the NBA.

Tue Mar 26 201316:58Royce White back with Vipers
Royce White returned to the Rockets' D-League affiliate Monday.
White says there was a "miscommunication" with the Rockets. Last week, he said he went back to Houston -- without permission from the team -- on advice of a team doctor. The troubled No. 16 overall pick in the draft is averaging just 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds for the D-League Vipers this season. He's played zero games with the Rockets.

Mon Mar 25 201314:26Royce White will rejoin D-League's Vipers
Royce White is expected to rejoin the Rockets' D-League affiliate after leaving the team without permission last week.
White claimed that he left to start preparing for next season with the Rockets, which makes the situation even more bizarre. It's conceivable that he and the franchise will get on the same page this summer, but the situation has been far too volatile to expect him to return as a fantasy asset in 2013-14.

Fri Mar 22 201308:29White left D-League without Rockets consent
Royce White, who has left his D-League team, did so without the consent of Rockets management.
This is going from bad to worse. White tweeted that he's preparing for next season with the Rockets and is "very excited," but he looked woefully out of shape in the D-League and averaged 9.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting just 41.6 percent. Rockets officials "would not comment" on White leaving the D-League, and his rookie season is essentially over.

Thu Mar 21 201310:31Royce White leaves D-League team for season
Royce White has been "advised" by a team physician that he should be in Houston for the remainder of the season and will no longer play in the D-League.
To be clear, White is not joining the Rockets, and instead simply finishing out the year in Houston. It's not clear what future plans the team has for him at this point.
