Wed Nov 13 201320:30Meyers Leonard not playing on Wednesday
Meyers Leonard (illness) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.
The Blazers have moved Joel Freeland to play a little more power forward with the second unit, so Leonard did have a bit more of a chance to produce. Still, he's way off the fantasy radar. Robin Lopez will have to play big minutes, which could be interesting after Miles Plumlee took him to school in the season opener.

Tue Nov 12 201316:10Meyers Leonard (illness) limited on Tuesday
Meyers Leonard became ill on Tuesday and was limited at practice.
He wound up vomiting "up to 10 times" during practice but isn't expected to miss any games for Portland. It doesn't matter for fantasy purposes since Leonard has fallen behind Joel Freeland on the depth chart.

Fri Oct 25 201301:07Meyers Leonard out of rotation?
Meyers Leonard looks to be out of the rotation for Portland.
He played just three minutes in Thursday's game and Joel Freeland has leapfrogged him. Leonard is no longer worth drafting in any format.

Thu Oct 17 201300:03Meyers Leonard still not off to a good start
Meyers Leonard returned from a foot injury on Wednesday, playing 10 minutes with no points and four boards.
The good news is that he only committed one foul after fouling out in 16 minutes the last time he played. Leonard has fallen behind Robin Lopez quite a bit, so he's barely worth drafting in even deep leagues.

Wed Oct 16 201314:31Meyers Leonard to see limited minutes
Meyers Leonard (foot) will play limited minutes in Wednesday's game against the Jazz.
He has been sidelined since Friday with a foot injury, but was able to return to practice on Sunday. Leonard's last preseason game wasn't a good one, fouling out in just 16 minutes, but at least he made all three shots from the field. He could have a tough time earning minutes for now.

Tue Oct 15 201316:25Meyers Leonard still limited on practice
Meyers Leonard (foot) was limited in practice on Tuesday.
His right foot injury has kept him in and out of practice for almost a week. Leonard will come off the bench behind Robin Lopez this year and could see around 20 minutes per game, assuming he's healthy.

Sun Oct 13 201315:56Meyers Leonard is back at practice
Meyers Leonard (foot) returned to practice on Sunday.
He sat out of Friday's preseason game with his foot strain, so it seems like he's all set to start the season. Leonard will back up Robin Lopez this season, but Lopez has looked good for the most part in the preseason.

Fri Oct 11 201320:27Leonard (foot) out on Friday vs. Jazz
Meyers Leonard (foot) did not play in Friday's preseason game against the Jazz.
We're tracking Leonard's progress with the injury and we'll let you know as soon as its severity is understood. The Blazers are relying on Leonard to give them serviceable depth in a backup role, so any time missed by the second year player would force them to play small once again.

Thu Oct 10 201316:16Meyers Leonard (right foot) not practicing
Meyers Leonard is dealing with a strained right foot and is not practicing on Thursday.
The Blazers can't catch a break and they've had a litany of injuries this preseason. Leonard will backup Robin Lopez at center and should see more than his 17.5 minutes per game from last season. He's worth monitoring, but isn't quite worthy of a pick in standard leagues unless Lopez flops.

Mon Sep 30 201314:25Blazers pick up Meyers Leonard's third year
The Blazers have picked up Meyers Leonard's third-year option.
Leonard showed improvement with his jump shooting during Summer League, but coach Terry Stotts emphasized that he needs to improve his "defense and rebounding." Portland brought in Robin Lopez to shore up the center spot and serve as a defensive anchor, which relegates Leonard to a backup role.

Mon Jul 22 201316:48Terry Stotts pleased w/ Leonard's development
Terry Stotts is pleased with Meyers Leonard's offensive development, but he said that his "defense and rebounding" will be critical this season.
Stotts is even fine with Leonard shooting the occasional 3-pointer as long as he doesn't fall in love with perimeter shots. "He showed a lot more confidence in shooting the ball [during Summer League]," said Stotts. "He had a nice touch in the paint ... Defensively, I thought he made good strides in communicating and helping on penetration." Robin Lopez is the presumptive starting center for Portland, but Leonard will undoubtedly play important minutes in his second season.

Mon Apr 29 201315:40Blazers young trio to play in summer league
Meyers Leonard, Victor Claver and Joel Freeland will be part of the Trail Blazers' summer league team.
Will Barton already said he'll be part of the team and Elliot Williams is willing if the Blazers retrain him. Leonard, Claver and Freeland were part of a massive youth movement in Portland this season and the Blazers need them to develop into at least solid rotational players, if not starters in Freeland and Leonard's cases.

Sun Apr 14 201320:28Meyers Leonard limited by foul trouble
The Trail Blazers lost their 11th consecutive game on Sunday, as Meyers Leonard fought through foul trouble to finish with 10 points, five rebounds and zero blocks in 23 minutes.
Portland is licking its wounds and evaluating young players, so Leonard should get all the minutes he can handle in the final two games. GM Neil Olshey has already said that J.J. Hickson isn't likely to be re-signed this summer, and it will likely be Leonard or a newly-signed free agent starting at center on opening night.

Thu Apr 4 201316:22Meyers Leonard likely headed back to bench
Meyers Leonard is expected to return to the bench once LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) returns to the lineup.
Aldridge is expected to play Friday night and coach Terry Stotts says he's leaning toward starting Aldridge and J.J. Hickson with Leonard coming off the bench. Despite a disappointing rookie year, Leonard has looked solid when given the chance to start, averaging 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks over six starts this season. Fantasy owners might want to part ways with him once L.A. returns, but Leonard's brief run gives us hope for next season.

Thu Apr 4 201301:07Meyers Leonard scores 10 points on Wednesday
Making another fill-in start with LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) unavailable, Meyers Leonard had 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and zero blocks in 28 minutes vs. the Grizzlies.
It's unclear when L.A. will return to action, which gives Leonard a window of opportunity, and coach Terry Stotts offered more reasons for optimism before tonight's game. "Guys like Victor [Claver] and Will [Barton] and Joel [Freeland] and Meyers [Leonard], they'll get more of a learning experience ... It's a good teaching environment. We want to make the most of these last eight games." Owners should hang onto Leonard and see how this plays out.

Tue Apr 2 201308:51Meyers Leonard still learning how to defend
Meyers Leonard admitted he's "still trying to learn how to guard one-one-one in the post."
Leonard was deemed a project coming out into his rookie season, and he's been thrown into the fire late in the year with LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) sidelined. "I just got to learn and understand," he said. "I've never had to do it before, so it's a learning process for me." We'd expect the Blazers to push hard for a center in free agency in the offseason.

Tue Apr 2 201300:26Meyers Leonard gets 38 minutes
Meyers Leonard played 38 minutes against the Jazz on Monday and had 12 points, seven boards, three assists and one block.
He logged 41 minutes and scred 22 points on Saturday, so the Blazers are clearly comfortable in giving him extended playing time. The Blazers aren't expected to shut down LaMarcus Aldridge, so Meyers isn't a slam-dunk pickup in most leagues. He should be owned by any owner that needs a big man, though.

Sun Mar 31 201301:42Meyers Leonard has 22 & 10 in blowout loss
Meyers Leonard led Portland on Saturday with 22 points, 10 rebounds, one block and zero turnovers in 41 minutes, while sinking 9-of-17 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs.
Leonard exposed the Warriors' lack of defensive mobility all night, even throwing down a sweet one-handed jam in garbage time and hitting a rare 3-pointer. It's easy to dismiss this as a fluke against a tailor-made opponent, but Leonard has double-digit points in each of his past three games and he's worth a long look as a spot-starter with LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) expected out on Monday.

Sat Mar 30 201303:26Leonard scores 12 points with three boards
Meyers Leonard started on Friday for injured LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle), scoring 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting with three rebounds and one assist over 33 minutes in the Blazers' 105-95 home loss to the Jazz.
Leonard did not have a steal or block and when you get past the athleticism there's not much there. He has a decent outlook when it comes to playing time, as the Blazers will be out of the playoff hunt soon and it will make sense to develop him, but he could struggle to maintain any real fantasy value.
