Sat Feb 1 201402:29Burke (illness) plays, struggles vs. Warriors
Trey Burke played through his illness in Friday's loss to the Warriors, but struggled and lasted just 22 minutes before fouling out.
Burke hit 2-of-10 shots for four points, three rebounds and six assists without any 3-pointers. He has been a late-round value in 12-team formats over the past month, though his 2.5 turnovers per game in that span have him below the cut line in those formats. Owners should exercise some patience here and realize that he'll continue to get better with time, but whether or not he has mid-round upside this season is debatable.

Fri Jan 31 201422:08Trey Burke starting vs. Warriors
Trey Burke (illness) is starting against the Warriors on Friday.
He should be fine and will have his hands full on defense against Stephen Curry. Burke's shooting numbers are still a mess on the season, but he's doing enough to be started in standard leagues right now.

Thu Jan 30 201412:14Trey Burke to miss Thurs practice w/ illness
Trey Burke will miss Thursday's practice with a stomach bug.
The Jazz are listing Burke's malady as "gastric distress", so we'll leave the details up to the imagination and list him as questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors. Burke has hit a bit of a rookie wall as of late, but can still be an asset for fantasy owners in need of 3-pointers and assists as long as his low field goal percentage can be stomached.

Tue Jan 28 201400:11Burke still struggling; shut down by Thomas
Trey Burke's struggles continued on Monday against the Kings, as he scored just eight points on 3-of-10 shooting with four assists and one trey.
Burke was set up for failure against the quick and solid on-ball defense of Isaiah Thomas, but the recent slide isn't just a one-game thing as he has hit just 35.9 percent of his shots with 0.8 combined steals and blocks in his last seven contests. If he can get at least the shooting under control in his rookie year, the other numbers are there, with 12.5 points, 1.8 threes and 7.0 assists in that same span.

Sun Jan 19 201401:09Trey Burke gets shut down by Rubio
Trey Burke shot 2-of-10 during Saturday's ugly 98-72 loss to the Wolves for nine points, adding three boards, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.
His offense still isn't clicking yet. Burke just seems to settle for shots way too often and just doesn't want to get his points in the paint. He's only been blocked on 3.3 percent of his shots, so that's not the problem. Burke obviously going to be one of the worst players in field goal percentage, but there are a lot of positives for the Rookie of the Year candidate.

Fri Jan 17 201423:15Trey Burke has 20 pts w/ career-best 12 dimes
Trey Burke led Utah to a road win in Detroit on Friday with 20 points and a career-high 12 assists, in addition to three rebounds, two steals and one block.
The rookie made one 3-pointer and his seven turnovers were the only thing that marred his solid line. He was averaging just 2.0 turnovers in Utah's previous seven games, so that's hardly a concern, but his fantasy value has been dragged down by 39.1 percent shooting and just 0.7 steals per game from the PG position.

Thu Jan 16 201402:03Trey Burke double-doubles in loss to Spurs
Trey Burke hit 7-of-19 shots and two 3-pointers for 17 points and 11 assists in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs.
That's an impressive line against the tough Spurs D and this was Burke's third double-double of the season, and second one that featured assists and points. He's hot right now, averaging 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games.

Tue Jan 14 201402:25Burke ankle issue not a big deal after game
Trey Burke hit 6-of-12 shots for 18 points, three triples, two boards and eight assists in Monday's win over the Nuggets.
Burke tweaked his Achilles' during the game but said it wasn't serious. "I slid," he said afterward. "I think it was a little wet spot out there and it wasn't my ankle, it was kind of near my Achilles. It's fine. It's just a little sore. I don't know what I did. It doesn't seem serious at all so I'm going to get treatment on it, ice it and see how it feels tomorrow." Burke is improving his efficiency but he didn't have a steal or block tonight, but owners can expect slow improvement throughout the year.

Mon Jan 13 201421:41Trey Burke gets taped up, good to go
Trey Burke had his right ankle re-taped on Monday and is expected to return.
He should be fine and hopefully it doesn't swell up on him for Wednesday's game. Burke is struggling on offense, but his owners should ride it out and hope for a big second half.

Sat Jan 11 201402:22Burke looks good for fantasy owners on Friday
Trey Burke scored 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, six assists and two steals in Friday's loss to the Cavs.
This is what a more polished version of Burke will look like at some point down the road, but this season he's more likely to struggle with his field goal percentage and steals. But still, as you can see he'll be a pretty fun guy to own in the future.

Sat Jan 4 201402:46Burke gets torched by Kendall Marshall
Trey Burke hit just 3-of-15 shots (0-for-8 from deep) for six points, three boards, nine assists and no steals or blocks in the Jazz's loss to the Lakers on Friday.
Fresh off his Rookie of the Month award, Burke also got torched by Kendall Marshall for a ridiculous career night. He has improved lately and become a bit more solid of a late-round play, but on the season that's where he has settled as sub-par field goal shooting and a lack of peripheral stats has hurt his value in standard leagues. Still, he should incrementally improve as the year goes on.

Mon Dec 30 201323:56Burke scores 21 points, hits big shot late
Trey Burke scored 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in the Jazz's 83-80 win over the Bobcats on Monday.
Burke also saved a broken play late with a late-drive to hit the game-deciding shot with just seconds left. If he were to show this type of versatility and efficiency on a nightly basis, he would be in the discussion among the league's top fantasy point guards, but with just 0.7 combined steals and blocks per game and a 40 percent mark from the field he's stuck with late-round value.

Mon Dec 30 201313:34Trey Burke still has some soreness in ankle
Trey Burke said after shootaround that his ankle is "a little sore," but he's ready to go vs. the Bobcats on Monday.
He returned from a minor ankle injury on Friday and is still feeling the lingering effects. Burke leads Utah with 5.1 assists per game, and he's knocking down an impressive 1.6 threes while making 92.9 percent of his free throws. The downside is that he's 39.3 percent from the field, he's only offering 0.7 steals per game, and he's blocked one shot in 570 minutes of action this season. It adds up to borderline value in 12-team leagues.

Sun Dec 29 201301:52Trey Burke gets CP3'd in loss on Sat.
Trey Burke was shut down by Chris Paul in Saturday's loss to the Clippers, shooting 4-of-14 from the field for 12 points, two boards, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.
He did turn the ball over six times tonight, which is suddenly a problem after a seven-turnover Friday. Burke is already going to have some issue in field goal shooting, so he'll really have to keep his turnovers down to help his fantasy value going. He is still getting better at scoring and the rookie's upside will make him a coveted piece in most leagues.

Sat Dec 28 201302:01Trey Burke's ankle looks fine in win over LAL
Trey Burke returned from a minor ankle tweak against the Lakers on Friday, scoring
He didn't look to be bothered by the injury outside of not being too aggressive with his shot selection. Burke did not take any shots within eight feet tonight, but he's been terrific in the mid-range game lately -- shooting 54 percent on those attempts over his last four. After tonight's game, Burke boasts averages of 16.8 points, 3.0 boards, 5.4 assists and 2.4 triples on 47.0 percent from the field and 100 percent from the line. He's in the mix for Rookie of the Year.

Fri Dec 27 201321:43Trey Burke (ankle) back on court vs. Lakers
Trey Burke had his ankle re-taped and returned to Friday's game against the Lakers.
He looks like he's fine and dodged a bullet here. Burke should be owned in all leagues and we'll let you know how he does against the Lakers.

Fri Dec 27 201321:32Trey Burke tweaks ankle in first quarter
Trey Burke suffered an apparent ankle injury in the first quarter of Friday's game against the Lakers and went to the locker room.
He walked back to the locker room under his own power and didn't have too bad of a limp. Burke is having a solid rookie season and he's done a nice job of making his teammates better. He was replaced John Lucas III, but there's no reason to pick him up an almost any format.

Tue Dec 24 201302:03Trey Burke plays okay vs. Memphis
Trey Burke shot 5-of-12 from the field for 18 points against the Grizzlies on Monday with one rebound, five assists and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
The Jazz are playing much better with Burke in the lineup and there is no competition behind him. The rookie is shooting 91 percent from the free throw line this season, so that makes his 39 percent from the field a little easier to swallow. He shouldn't be considered a sell-high player following his 30-point game last Wednesday.

Sat Dec 21 201322:51Trey Burke bounces back in win over Bobcats
Trey Burke bounced back from Friday's disaster (2 points, 1-of-8 shooting) with 20 points, three rebounds, four assists and four 3-pointers on 7-of-16 shooting in Saturday's win over the Bobcats.
Burke is right there in the running for Rookie of the Year and Friday's dud was just a bump in the road. Hopefully you had him in your lineup tonight.
