Sun Mar 2 201400:03Anthony Bennett (knee) returns on Sat.
Anthony Bennett returned from knee soreness on Saturday, playing nine minutes for four points and two boards.
His knee soreness kept him out of the lineup on Friday and there's a good chance it did not affect his minutes. Bennett has lost some run due to Spencer Hawes taking no time to get acclimated and has no fantasy value right now.

Fri Feb 28 201418:57Anthony Bennett (knee) out for Friday night
Anthony Bennett (right knee soreness) will not play against the Jazz on Friday.
He will travel for Saturday's game against the Grizzlies and should be considered questionable. Bennett's playing time has taken a serious hit since Spencer Hawes has arrived, so there's no reason to own him in almost any format.

Sun Feb 23 201420:53Anthony Bennett back to being a no-show
Anthony Bennett played 17 minutes against the Wizards on Sunday with four points and four boards.
His minutes have dropped to the teens for three straight and the arrival of Spencer Hawes should not help his playing time. It was nice to see Bennett get a couple double-doubles earlier this month, but he's likely going to go off the grid in fantasy leagues for a while.

Tue Feb 18 201422:49Anthony Bennett double-doubles in win
Anthony Bennett came off the bench for 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in 24 minutes on Tuesday.
He disappeared on Wednesday with two points and two rebounds, but had 19 points and 10 rebounds on Tuesday before the All-Star break. He could be getting ready to go on a run for the Cavs, but he obviously looks like a safer fantasy option any time Anderson Varejao is out. And as it stands, AV doesn't look likely to play again on Wednesday, either.

Thu Feb 13 201400:20Anthony Bennett invisible in win over Pistons
Anthony Bennett played just 15 minutes and hit 1-of-4 shots for two points and two rebounds on Wednesday.
Oops. He went off for 19 points, 10 rebounds and three 3-pointers on Tuesday night, and we suggested picking him up. There's still a good chance the Cavs turn him loose after the All-Star break, but after tonight's line, he's simply more of a luxury-own than a must-own.

Tue Feb 11 201422:30Anthony Bennett breaks out with 19 & 10
Anthony Bennett came off the bench for career highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds, and also had a steal and three 3-pointers on 6-of-9 shooting in 30 minutes on Tuesday.
He was 3-of-3 from downtown, but hit just 4-of-9 free throws. His minutes are on the rise and he could make a run at a starting job at some point after the All-Star break. Tristan Thompson bounced back from a bad game with one of his best of the season, but Bennett also looked great tonight. If you have someone you've been wanting to cut, picking up Bennett could pay off in the future. Bennett has hit double figures in scoring in three of his last five games, but also played just six minutes on Sunday before tonight's explosion.

Wed Feb 5 201423:24Anthony Bennett plays down the stretch
Anthony Bennett played down the stretch at power forward against the Lakers on Wednesday, scoring 14 points, eight boards, one assist and two steals in 22 minutes.
It was his second best game of his career and he's starting to get better. Believe it or not, Bennett averaged 9.2 points, 4.6 boards, 0.8 steals, 0.6 steals and 0.6 triples on 37.8 percent shooting over his last five. The rookie is still fouling way too much and is unlikely to have the stamina to play more than 27 minutes on a regular basis. He's only worth a pick for owners with dead weight on their rosters.

Tue Feb 4 201410:11Anthony Bennett finally turning the corner?
Anthony Bennett has taken a step in his development over the last week.
While the step might be small, it's still an encouraging sign to see the much-maligned 2013 No. 1 overall pick taking any steps at all. "Relaxing, now," Bennett said. "Just going out there and playing basketball, pretty much. Before, it was constantly thinking. But now, it's just free flow. I know all the plays. I've just got to go out there and just go play." Bennett still isn't a worth fantasy option, but it's a promising sign to see him finally start putting the pieces together.

Tue Feb 4 201401:58Bennett scores 11 points in 26 minutes
Anthony Bennett scored 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting (1-of-2 from deep, 4-of-4 from the line) with one rebound, one steal and one block in 26 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Bennett still looks lost out there but he led the bench in minutes and he didn't embarrass himself too badly. There is a long way to go for Bennett in both fantasy and reality, but theoretically the Cavs would like to see him on the court this year.

Fri Jan 31 201415:55Cavs don't want to send Bennett to NBADL
The Cavaliers do not want to send Anthony Bennett to the D-League because it would be an admission of a failure, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.
He would be the highest pick ever to go to the D-League, but Bennett isn't totally against the idea. "I heard it helped out Shabazz [Muhammad] real well," Bennett said. "Any way to help, I'm with it." He doesn't have the athleticism to beat guys off the dribble or any real go-to moves in the post, so he really could use some seasoning with the D-League. Fantasy owners can ignore him in most leagues.

Thu Jan 30 201422:59Anthony Bennett stinks again vs. Knicks
Anthony Bennett played 23 minutes against the Knicks on Thursday, shooting 1-of-6 from the field for four points with two boards, one assist, one steal and three fouls.
Well, that one game was nice. Bennett was coming off a 15-point game on Tuesday, but anyone who has watched him play knew he wasn't going to keep it up. He can't score consistently from anywhere on the court and doesn't have much of a first step with the ball. Fantasy owners in almost every league can ignore him.

Thu Jan 30 201412:29Anthony Bennett remains in rotation for Thurs
Anthony Bennett will remain in the Cavaliers' rotation against the Knicks Thursday.
It's never a good thing when it's news that the reigning No. 1 overall pick will get playing time, but this is where we're at with Bennett. With Anderson Varejao out Tuesday, Bennett has his best game of his career with 15 points and eight boards. Varejao is listed as questionable for Thursday, so while Bennett will be in the rotation regardless, his value largely hinges upon whether or not Varejao suits up.

Tue Jan 28 201421:32Anthony Bennett scores career-high 15
Anthony Bennet had his best game as a pro on Tuesday with a career-high 15 points, adding eight boards, one assist, one block and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes.
The rookie was a litter better on offense and had a couple nice possessions with getting open in good spots. Although, he had a silly foul, was exposed on help defense and about a dozen other things. Bennett's still not up to speed on how to play in the NBA and we'll be in February next week and is only worth a deep-league look while Anderson Varejao (knee) is out.

Sat Jan 25 201411:11Cavs don't plan to send Bennett to D-League
The Cavaliers have no immediate plans to send Anthony Bennett to the D-League.
The No. 1 pick is barely playing these days, as the Cavs fight for a spot in the playoffs. Head coach Mike Brown said he wants Bennett to stay around to learn from the team's practices, scouting reports and video sessions, but in the end sending him to the D-League may strike Cleveland's decision-makers as an admission of defeat. No matter where he's playing, he has no fantasy value.

Thu Jan 16 201402:40Anthony Bennett logs DNP-CD on Wednesday
Anthony Bennett was a DNP-CD (coach's decision) on Wednesday night.
There is talk of him going to the D-League and nothing will bring that talk into the forefront quite like a DNP-CD. There really isn't a single positive to take away from Bennett's rookie season and he can be left on the wire in almost any league.

Wed Jan 15 201417:04Anthony Bennett would be open to D-League
Anthony Bennett said on Wednesday he would be open to playing in the D-League and referred to himself as "clueless."
"It's not a bad thing, especially going down there, hopefully playing a lot, going out there, building my confidence," Bennett said. He needs all of the confidence he can get right now. The top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft is shooting a pathetic 26.9 percent from the field this season, has an average of 6.9 fouls per 48 minutes and has some major deficiencies on defense. Bennett can be left on the waiver wire in almost all leagues.

Tue Dec 31 201311:06Anthony Bennett trying to cope with criticism
Anthony Bennett is trying to fight through the criticism that has accompanied his disappointing first season.
"I'm trying to get back to my old days like I was in college," Bennett said. "It's a tough league." Mike Brown has said that Bennett will see his minutes at the power forward spot going forward and the 2013 overall No. draft pick has now seen his most playing time in December in three of his last four games. The increased playing time hasn't led to increased production, however, so fantasy owners can feel free to look elsewhere for now.

Sun Dec 29 201320:58Anthony Bennett: Professional brick-layer
Anthony Bennett missed all four of his field goal attempts vs. Golden State, scoring three points off free throws in 11 minutes off the bench.
The overall No. 1 draft pick is now shooting 27.7 percent on the season. That's the seventh-worst mark among players averaging at least 10 minutes per game, ahead of only Alexey Shved, Steve Nash, Danny Granger, Phil Pressey, Marquis Teague and Stephen Jackson.

Sat Dec 28 201318:19Anthony Bennett has a good game on Sat.
Anthony Bennett matched his career high with five boards, two assists and one block against the Celtics on Saturday, adding five points and one steal in 19 minutes.
This would be a horrible game for most players, but it was Bennett's most well-rounded game of his career. Coach Mike Brown called a timeout to talk to the rookie and he still has quite a project on his hands. Andrew Bynum no longer in the picture doesn't have a big impact on Bennett's value just yet.
