The injury isn't expected to be especially serious, and he should get more involved later in camp.

Bennett (leg) is expected to sit out Tuesday's preseason opener against the Pacers, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Bennett "tweaked" his leg during camp, and the team will hold him out of action Tuesday as a precaution. Coach Flip Saunders also intimated that several veterans will see little or no playing time.
Sat Aug 23 201413:08Anthony Bennett: Traded To Wolves
Bennett was officially traded to the Timberwolves on Saturday, Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press reports.
The deal, which was reportedly completed nearly a month ago, will send Kevin Love to the Cavs, Andrew Wiggins, Thaddeus Young and Bennett to the Wolves, and Alexey Shved, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and a future first-rounder to the Sixers. Bennett was initially expected to be sent to Philadelphia, but it appears the Wolves intend to keep him around as a potential small forward of the future. Bennett figures to compete for a starting spot this season but could open the year as one of the first forwards off the bench.

Bennett will stay with Minnesota after the pending trade with the Cavs goes through, rather than being sent to the Sixers, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.
Things are apparently still a bit murky in the blockbuster Andrew Wiggins-Kevin Love swap, as it now appears Bennett will stay with the Wolves after the trade is complete. Initial reports suggested Bennett would head to Philadelphia in exchange for a package centered around Thaddeus Young, but it now looks as though the Wolves will hold onto the 2013 top pick. After a thoroughly disappointing rookie season that landed him in the same breath as Kwame Brown, Bennett showed flashes of his potential in summer league and appears to be in much better shape. He figures to play a fairly prominent role for a Wolves team transitioning back into rebuilding mode.
Fri Aug 8 201410:52Anthony Bennett: Will Head To Philly In Kevin Love Deal
Bennett will be traded to the Sixers as part of the Cavaliers-Wolves trade involving Kevin Love, the Philadelphia Enquirer reports.
Bennett was originally thought to be headed to Minnesota, but the Sixers emerged Friday morning as part of what now looks to be a three-team deal. Philadelphia will also send forward Thaddeus Young to the Wolves as part of the proposed trade. Bennett's fantasy value was originally set to spike after it was announced he'd be headed for Minnesota, but Philadelphia should offer him an even greater opportunity to thrive in more significant minutes.
Thu Aug 7 201410:48Anthony Bennett: Will be Traded to Timberwolves
Bennett will be traded to the Timberwolves as part of the three-player Kevin Love deal, Yahoo! Sports reports. Andrew Wiggins and a protected 2015 first-round pick will also go to the Timberwolves in the deal.
Iterations of this deal have been tossed around since LeBron James announced July 11 that he would return to the Cavaliers, but this latest report explicitly states that this three-player deal has been agreed upon in principle by the two teams. The only thing stopping the deal from becoming official immediately is the fact that Wiggins is unavailable to be traded until August 23, as he is untradeable during the 30-day rookie contract moratorium the teams are currently waiting to pass. A move to the Timberwolves should result in Bennetts' fantasy value increasing greatly in comparison to the value he would have held on the Cavaliers.
Wed Jul 30 201400:08Anthony Bennett pulled from Pro-Am event
Anthony Bennett was pulled from a Pro-Am tournament in Canada on Tuesday, but is not injured.
His agent reportedly made the move, which should sufficiently throw the 'Kevin Love to Cavs' rumors in full gear. It makes sense, as Bennett's name has been included in potential deals for the Cavs to get Love since day one, although it's clearly speculation that something is in the works. Having said that, it's hard to think of another reason Bennett's agent would make such a move, so let the speculation begin.

Sun Jul 13 201419:24Anthony Bennett down to 240 pounds
Anthony Bennett is down to 240 pounds from the 259 during the regular season.
He looks like a new player in summer league. Bennett's conditioning is way up, and he is much more muscular compared to his round version of last year. There are still some signs of fatigue, but he's on a mission to get better. He's had two very solid games and perhaps the Cavaliers can either play him or trade him.

Sun Jul 13 201418:00Anthony Bennett plays great, posts 13 & 14
Anthony Bennett looked terrific during Sunday's win over the Spurs, scoring 13 points with 14 rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in 31 minutes of action.
Bennett looked confident handling the ball, he made a few nice passes, and he shot the ball with a confidence that was conspicuously absent during his awful rookie season. His improved physique and conditioning are visible and he's poised to have a bounce-back season with the spotlight trained on Cleveland's other three other No. 1 picks (LeBron, Kyrie and Andrew Wiggins).

Fri Jul 11 201422:09Anthony Bennett logs 31 minutes, scores 15
Anthony Bennett played 31 minutes vs. the Bucks on Friday, scoring 15 points with seven boards, two steals, two turnovers, one 3-pointer, two steals and eight fouls.
He looked focused before the game started and it was easy to tell he wanted to have a great game today. Bennett was even getting up and down the court in fast-break and wasn't lagging on either end. Plus, he was much better on the perimeter. Although, at times he did look like his conditioning wasn't quite up to par. He still has a lot of work to do.

Tue Jul 8 201423:26Anthony Bennett in great shape, looks good
Anthony Bennett, last year's No. 1 pick in the draft, is reportedly in great shape and has been working hard all summer.
After last season's rookie disaster, he'll need to be in great shape and turn things around if he's going to make an impact this season. There's a reason he was taken at No. 1 last year, but he's yet to put it on display. Maybe he'll be ready to roll this season.

Thu Jun 26 201418:09Wiggins would love to play with Canadians
Andrew Wiggins said he'd love to play with fellow Canadians Anthony Bennett and Tristan Thompson.
"The chemistry is already there," Wiggins said. Not many people probably want to play with Bennett based on how he played last year. He couldn't get his rookie year off the ground and had nine scoreless games while showing very little offensive promise. He'll get a chance to get it going in Las Vegas Summer League at his college home court at UNLV.

Thu May 22 201420:41Anthony Bennett received a rookie vote
Anthony Bennett received one All-Rookie Second Team vote on Thursday.
The vote came from the New York Daily News' Mitch Lawrence, who actually broke the news of the Jazz parting ways with Ty Corbin last month. Lawrence also was the only person to vote for Andre Roberson on his second team, so his ballot was a bit odd. Bennett has a heck of a lot of work to do to redeem himself and his first chance in the spotlight will be at summer league.

Wed Apr 16 201418:34Anthony Bennett is available to play
Anthony Bennett (knee) is available to play vs. the Nets on Wednesday.
His rookie season has been a disaster, but at least he'll get one more chance to show what he can do. His fitness will likely be a problem for much of his career and the deck is stacked against him to have a breakout year.

Wed Apr 16 201410:49Anthony Bennett (knee) could return Wed.
Anthony Bennett (strained left patellar tendon) went through Tuesday's contact practice and may be available to play on Wednesday.
It would be a token victory for the Cavs if Bennett could suit up, but nothing can dilute the misery of his rookie season. The No. 1 overall pick has appeared in 51 games, averaging 4.1 points on 35.2 percent shooting, with exactly as many turnovers (46) as combined assists (17), steals (21) and blocks (eight). There is little doubt that he'll play for the Cavs' Summer League team.

Wed Apr 9 201409:46Anthony Bennett (knee) may be done for season
Anthony Bennett (strained patellar tendon) didn't practice on Tuesday.
He has returned from Toronto, where he was dealing with a family issue, but it does not seem likely that he'll play again this season. He's averaged a mere 4.1 points on 35.2 percent shooting since being drafted No. 1 overall last summer.

Tue Apr 1 201415:38Anthony Bennett excused for family emergency
Anthony Bennett has been excused from the Cavaliers to deal with a family health issue in Toronto.
Bennett is recovering from a strained patellar tendon so his absence won't impact the Cavs' rotations. He was ruled out for approximately three weeks back on March 10 but there is no indication that he's nearing a return to the court.

Mon Mar 10 201414:40Anthony Bennett (knee) out for three weeks
An MRI on Monday revealed Anthony Bennett is dealing with a left patellar tendon strain and he will be out for approximately three weeks.
He has been dealing with knee soreness since Late February and the Cavs finally know why. Bennett's minutes have fallen off and he's also lost a step after he was showing at least some shred of potential about a month ago. Fantasy owners can cut him everywhere.
