Fri Mar 28 201422:33McLemore scores 18 points with three treys
Ben McLemore scored 18 points on 5-of-16 shooting (3-of-7 3PTs, 5-of-6 FTs) with one rebound, three assists, two steals and one block in Friday's blowout loss to the Thunder.
McLemore will have trouble with consistency if the Kings' Big Three are on the court together, and tonight he got all he could eat with DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay playing just a combined 38 minutes. The Kings are going to go out of their way to give their lottery pick a boost to end the season, so give him a look if you have some dead weight to cut.

Thu Mar 27 201401:52Ben McLemore scores 16 w/ 4 3-pointers
Ben McLemore hit 6-of-12 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points, one rebound and one assist in Wednesday's loss to the Knicks.
McLemore is coming on for the Kings now that he's been starting for a few months, averaging 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 3-pointers over his last five games. He's been better than that over his last four and is worth a look if you need a shooting guard who can hit 3-pointers. He's hit seven of them over his last two.

Wed Mar 12 201422:49McLemore and Thompson excel vs. bad team
Ben McLemore scored 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting (including three treys) with one rebound and one steal in 28 minutes on Wednesday against the Sixers.
It's nice to see McLemore hit a few shots but we're not buying one good game against a D-League team, and while we're at it the same thing applies to Jason Thompson (14 points, seven boards, one block), who had family cheering him on in the crowd.

Sun Mar 9 201420:43Ben McLemore in single-digits again vs. Nets
Ben McLemore shot 3-of-4 from the field for eight points in 30 minutes vs. the Nets on Sunday.
The rookie continues to start at SG and he's getting plenty of opportunities, but he hasn't scored double-digit points in consecutive games since late January. He belongs on the waiver wire unless some glimmer of consistency appears on the horizon.

Fri Mar 7 201422:18McLemore scores 14 points in Toronto
Ben McLemore scored 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, one steal and one block over 30 minutes on Friday.
McLemore did well when his feet were set and was otherwise the same guy we've seen all season rushing shots. Owners should make him show consistent progress in that area before considering an add.

Sat Mar 1 201401:16McLemore struggling like crazy for Sacto
Ben McLemore was just about the only guy in Staples Center that couldn't make a shot on Friday, coming up empty on four attempts over 30 minutes of action.
McLemore's jumper is officially broken and he has lacked polish on anything going to the hoop, too. Improved dribbling skills could help him from feeling so boxed in on his attempts and he'll need to spend the offseason working on his touch. Owners can back away from any stash and wait for signs of life before jumping in again.

Wed Feb 26 201401:40Ben McLemore scores 15, but struggles
Ben McLemore hit just 4-of-16 shots for 15 points, four steals and a 3-pointer in Tuesday's ugly loss to the Rockets.
He hit three straight shots late in the game to salvage his night, but that was the lone highlight. He's getting every opportunity to succeed with Marcus Thornton in Brooklyn, but still hasn't had the breakout game his owners are waiting for. It will happen at some point, but there will be plenty of ups and downs in his roller coaster ride over the rest of the season.

Sun Feb 23 201402:26McLemore scores 11 points with four boards
Ben McLemore started and logged 27 minutes in Saturday's win, scoring 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds and no other stats.
McLemore started out aggressive but slowly faded into the background a bit, which can happen with a team that only has one real distributor in Isaiah Thomas. Ben Mac has been bad this season but the deck has been somewhat stacked against him playing for a team still scraping the Keith Smart off of them. The silver lining is that Sacto is going to keep forcing the action with him and the biggest issue seems to be comfort. A few tweaks and he might make some noise before it's said and done.

Thu Feb 20 201403:03Ben McLemore quiet in start for Kings
Ben McLemore started after Marcus Thornton was traded on Wednesday but hit just 1-of-4 shots for four points and four rebounds in a loss to the Warriors.
McLemore could be in line for a boost in production with the move to the starting lineup, but with Isaiah Thomas, DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay taking care of Sacramento's offensive needs on most nights, Mac may not have any more success than Thornton did as the starter, which can't really be classified as a 'success.' The opportunity for minutes will be there, but we're not expecting any miracles from McLemore.

Wed Feb 19 201414:37Ben McLemore in line for more playing time
Ben McLemore figures to have a more expanded role with the trade of Marcus Thornton.
Calling McLemore a disappointment so far this season is a bit of an understatement. He's only scored three field goals in isolation all year and really has struggled getting his own shot on the wing. However, he just lost his primary competition for minutes and is certainly athletic enough to take on a major chunk of playing time. McLemore is going to have some major bumps in the road the rest of the way, but the opportunity in front of him is undeniably promising. He's worth a flier in standard leagues.

Wed Feb 19 201409:45Kings GM shoots down Ben McLemore trade talk
Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro unequivocally denied that Ben McLemore has been discussed in any trade deals.
"I'm standing here today and I'm saying Ben McLemore is a guy that we have not put in deals," D'Alessandro said. "He's a guy that we love here. So, sources? I think I'm a source." The Kings are still actively in talks, including a possible deal sending Marcus Thornton to the Nets for Jason Terry and Reggie Evans, but it's safe to rule out McLemore as a trade chip.

Thu Feb 6 201402:09Ben McLemore picks up some extra minutes
Ben McLemore played 24 minutes against the Raptors on Wednesday with six points, three boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.
Marcus Thornton went down at the end of the second quarter and it opened up some playing time for the rookie. McLemore has been a disaster in isolation and in spot-ups all year, so he's going to have to really turn some heads to get it going again. He isn't worth owning and will likely need a year make a noteworthy impact.

Mon Jan 27 201423:54McLemore keeps putting up numbers on Monday
Ben McLemore scored 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting (including a three) with nine rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes off the bench on Monday.
The Kings played without 2.5 of their guys tonight and that's certainly helping, but the only real takeaway for owners here is that it's good to see McLemore getting some confidence back. If he can show any signs of life for the Kings he'll get heavy minutes, but he needs to carve out a niche playing with the aforementioned guys. He's just a short-term asset right now until the cavalry returns.

Sun Jan 26 201423:51Ben McLemore notches 18 points in defeat
Kings rookie Ben McLemore got hot off the bench vs. Denver, scoring 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting with a pair of 3-pointers.
He also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals, rounding out what was arguably his most complete fantasy line of the season. Extended minutes as a starter didn't equate to reliable value earlier in the year, and fantasy owners should be even more skeptical now that he's coming off the bench -- Sunday marked the second time in January that he's cracked double-digits and his role was increased with DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay out due to injuries.

Thu Jan 23 201400:42Ben McLemore plays 35 minutes in loss
Ben McLemore played 35 minutes and hit 3-of-10 shots (all 3-pointers) for 11 points in Wednesday's loss.
Marcus Thornton started again and had four points in 22 minutes, and neither one of these shooting guards is doing enough to be used in fantasy leagues right now.

Fri Jan 17 201423:16McLemore (ankle) returns to action on Friday
Ben McLemore (ankle) returned to action in Friday's close loss to the Grizzlies, scoring seven points on 3-of-6 shooting with one rebound and one three in 13 minutes off the bench.
McLemore has taken a back seat with the Kings more interested in winning right now than developing players. If that dynamic changes he could be an interesting piece later on down the road, but for now he's waiver wire fodder.

Fri Jan 17 201413:19Ben McLemore will play Friday night vs MEM
Ben McLemore (ankle) will play in Friday's game against Memphis.
McLemore left Wednesday's game with an ankle sprain, but held true to his word for his availability Friday night. The Kings' prized rookie has played 18.9 minutes a game in the month of January, but only has 3.3 points per game to show for it. At this point, it's extremely tough to use a roster spot on the former Kansas Jayhawks star outside of a keeper league.

Thu Jan 16 201403:05Ben McLemore says he'll be ready for Friday
Ben McLemore (ankle) said he'll be fine for Friday's game at Memphis.
The Kings didn't get anything out of Marcus Thornton on Wednesday with two points. McLemore's season has taken a turn for the worse, so he's not really worth owning in just about any league. We'll let you know if he starts turning it around.

Wed Jan 15 201420:52Ben McLemore (ankle) out for game Wednesday
Ben McLemore will not return to Wednesday's game against the Wolves due to a sprained ankle.
He suffered the injury in the first half and will finish with no points, one board and one block on zero shots in seven minutes. McLemore is having a horrible start to 2014 and might be hitting the proverbial rookie wall. If he needs to miss time, Marcus Thornton would likely pick up some extra minutes. He's worth adding for any owner looking to bolster their 3-point shooting.

Sat Jan 11 201402:35McLemore left behind in Sacramento
Ben McLemore fell off a cliff in Friday's game, missing all four field goal attempts to finish with zero points, two rebounds and one assist in 18 minutes.
McLemore is trying to find himself right now as a fourth or fifth option at best on any given night, and with the Kings trying to showcase guys like Marcus Thornton, Jason Thompson and Jimmer Fredette he really doesn't have the freedom he'll need with the Kings' Big Three gobbling up all the shots. He may have value down the road, but he's not worth owning in most formats for now.
