He's definitely a player to monitor and he should continue to be a high risk, high reward player, especially with all the injuries piling up for this team.

However, it appears the team has changed its mind, and the Fresno State product will return for a second stint. Johnson, who has appeared in only one game this season, will need to be signed for the rest of the season or released when his second 10-day deal is up.

The Heat opted not to re-sign Tyler Johnson after his 10-day contract expired Thursday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Johnson signed with Miami on Jan. 12 after the Heat waived Andre Dawkins, who is now with the Celtics. He played in only one game, logging 1:44 of garbage time against the Warriors. Johnson's rights are retained by Sioux Falls of the D-League, and he'll be eligible to sign another 10-day deal with the Heat later in the season, if the team chooses to do so.
