Tue Oct 23 201201:15Richardson posts 23-7-6 line; hits six 3PTs
Jason Richardson reportedly left Sunday's game due to an ankle injury, but we heard nothing about it prior to Monday's game and Richardson went on to start and score 23 points with seven rebounds, six assists, and six 3-point buckets.
Wow. Yes, it was the preseason and half the team's core players were out tonight, but last week's issues with knee tendinitis conjured up thoughts of Richardson not being able to get his feet off the ground in Orlando. The ankle issue was clearly a non-issue, and Richardson's outburst suggests he's ready to fight for late-round value for at least one more year.

Mon Oct 22 201208:36Richardson leaves game with ankle injury
Jason Richardson left Sunday's game due to an ankle injury according to NBA TV.
Aside from a quick blurb about it in GameTime's box score last night, we've heard nothing about this and that's the way it has been with Philly injuries this preseason. Evan Turner has hobbled around with some sort of knee ailment and we've seen no reporting on it, and NBA TV is the only one carrying this report. This is probably not a big deal, but we'll be watching.

Sun Oct 21 201222:28Jason Richardson quiet vs. Boston on Sunday
Jason Richardson scored just eight points on Saturday, hitting two 3-pointers to go along with three rebounds, three assists and one block in 24 minutes.
J-Rich won't give you much statistical versatility, but he'll serve as Philadelphia's starting SG and should provide solid points and 3-pointers, with good rebounds from the guard position.

Sat Oct 20 201202:17Richardson (knee) returns to action on Friday
Jason Richardson returned to action on Friday after dealing with a case of knee tendinitis, scoring 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting with six rebounds, three steals, and two 3-point buckets.
J-Rich played 32 minutes and this is a great sign that he's ready to produce in a starting role for the Sixers. The knee issues are officially a concern, as he looked lethargic at times last season in Orlando, but his role and expected production make him a worthwhile late round pick.

Fri Oct 19 201208:38Jason Richardson expected to play Friday
Jason Richardson, who has been battling knee tendinitis, is expected to play on Friday.
J-Rich is at the point in his career where the Sixers won't push him through any knee issues, but he's had a solid preseason and looks to be the starting SG for his new team. After posting stinker numbers last season in Orlando, he should fare better in Philly. As long as his knee issues don't persist, feel free to give him a look at the back end of your draft.

Wed Oct 17 201218:14Jason Richardson bothered by sore knee
Jason Richardson has been bothered by mild knee tendinitis recently, according to coach Doug Collins.
J-Rich has had a great preseason and appears to be the favorite to start at SG for Philly, but this is a good occasion to remember that the 31-year-old was hampered by his knee for much of last season, and wound up shooting a career-low 40.8 percent from the field. Assuming this knee injury doesn't sideline him, he's worth a look in the late rounds.

Sat Oct 13 201218:06J-Rich, Dorell Wright both rested for 76ers
Jason Richardson and Dorell Wright will both be held out of Saturday's game for rest.
Doug Collins decided to bench his veteran swingmen and give their minutes to Damien Wilkins and Royal Ivey -- Ivey will start at SG alongside Jrue Holiday. Tonight's boxscore obviously won't reflect what we expect to see during the regular season.

Thu Oct 11 201200:13Jason Richardson likely starting for Sixers
Jason Richardson is having a great training camp and appears to have surpassed Nick Young as the starting shooting guard for the Sixers.
With the Youngs coming off the bench (Nick and Thaddeus) along with Dorell Wright, the Sixers are going to have a deep squad and a talented second unit. Richardson is now worth a pick after the middle rounds, as it appears he still has some gas left in the tank, while both Youngs and Wright should also be worth a late-round flier in many leagues.

Mon Sep 10 201209:49Jason Richardson leading to be starting SG
CSN Philadelphia believes Jason Richardson is the "front runner" to start at shooting guard.
This confirms a Philadelphia Inquirer report that the veteran was expected to serve as the starter. Richardson had a miserable 2011-12 season with averages of 11.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.9 treys on 40.8 percent shooting, but he'll look to rebound in new surroundings. With Nick Young lurking, Richardson can't afford a poor start in training camp.

Thu Aug 9 201223:15Richardson to Philly in blockbuster
Jason Richardson has reportedly been sent to Philadelphia in the Dwight Howard deal.
Richardson was always attached to this deal thanks to the three years remaining on his contract. He heads to a team that doesn't shoot the three very much and had some difficulty staying healthy last year. He'll compete for playing time with Evan Turner and Nick Young for minutes.

Thu Aug 9 201217:30Jason Richardson named in 4-team blockbuster?
Jason Richardson's name has been a "significant" part of ongoing four-team trade discussions, and he could join Dwight Howard in L.A. if the deal ever happens.
Nothing is imminent, but Adrian Wojnarowski's initial report about the potential trade has since been confirmed by multiple sources, including NBA.com's David Aldridge. In its current form, the blockbuster deal could send Dwight, J-Rich and Al Harrington to the Lakers, Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets, and Andrew Bynum to the 76ers, with Pau Gasol, Aaron Afflalo and draft picks heading to the Magic. Stay tuned.

Sat May 5 201217:28Magic fall in OT, now down 1-3 vs. Pacers
Jason Richardson scored 25 points with four 3-pointers, while Glen Davis had 24 points and 11 rebounds, but the Magic fell in overtime on Saturday and now face a 1-3 series disadvantage.
The Magic deserved a standing ovation, despite the loss. They were down by 19 points with just eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, but their skeleton crew kept battling and managed to force overtime, where they lost by two points. Jameer Nelson had 12 points, six rebounds and 11 assists, and masked Hedo Turkoglu scored 11 points in 40 minutes, but the bench as a unit shot just 3-of-15 from the field.

Wed May 2 201222:11Jason Richardson starts despite thumb injury
Jason Richardson returned to the starting lineup from a thumb injury and had five points on 2-of-8 shooting in 30 minutes of Wednesday's Game 3 home loss to the Pacers.
Richardson should be good to go for Game 4 on Saturday, when the Magic will try to avoid going down 3-1 to the Pacers.

Wed May 2 201212:04Jason Richardson not concerned about thumb
Jason Richardson (thumb) said he was "doing better."
Richardson jammed his left thumb (non-shooting), and although it was never expected to cost him time, this is just confirmation that the veteran isn't expecting to miss any time moving forward.

Sun Apr 22 201201:16Jason Richardson finally cracks 20 points
Jason Richardson scored 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting in Saturday's tough OT loss in Utah, hitting five 3-pointers with seven rebounds in 40 minutes.
This is only J-Rich's second 20-point game in the past six weeks, but with Dwight Howard done for the year he'll need to take on a somewhat bigger role offensively.

Mon Apr 9 201223:44J-Rich hits six 3s, Redick hits four 3s
Jason Richardson scored 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting (including six threes) with one rebound and one assist in Monday's blowout win over the Pistons.
Richardson somehow played 40-plus minutes on Saturday and scored 10 points with eight rebounds and five assists -- and didn't get a blurb -- so our apologies. It's possible he was saving his best for the end of the season and in any event the injury to Hedo Turkoglu is going to pay dividends for both Richardson and J.J. Redick (20 points, four threes).

Thu Apr 5 201222:32Richardson scores 16 points with good line
Jason Richardson showed his face in fantasy leagues in Thursday's blowout loss to the Knicks, scoring 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 37 minutes.
This game is hardly one to formulate an opinion on after the Magic mailed it in, but it's the first sign of life out of Richardson in some time. It's worth noting that Dwight Howard decided he didn't want to participate today, but regardless this outing puts Richardson back on the fantasy radar. As far as adding him goes, he can only be called a risky speculative add at this time.

Sat Mar 31 201203:31Richardson continues to stay slump vs. DAL
Jason Richardson remained dormant in the Magic's 100-98 loss to the Mavs on Friday, scoring six points on 2-of-7 shooting (2-of-6 from deep) with five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and three blocks in 33 minutes.
Richardson's production is way off the fantasy radar, but if we're looking for silver linings his minutes were up and the blocks indicate some level of activity. The fact is, though, that both the Magic and fantasy owners need much more if they're going to go anywhere with Richardson, who belongs on waivers in most formats.

Tue Mar 27 201203:09Richardson still cold for the Magic
Jason Richardson hit just 3-of-7 shots from the field on Monday, scoring seven points with one rebound, one steal, one block, and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes.
Richardson's minutes are down and so is his production, and while we think he has a relatively good shot at ironing things out he's not a must-own player at this point of the season.

Mon Mar 26 201210:32Van Gundy says J-Rich simply playing poorly
Coach Stan Van Gundy said that Jason Richardson is healthy, but "just playing very poorly."
Since coming back from a minor ankle injury five games ago, Richardson is shooting 34.1 percent and scoring a mere 7.0 points while playing 28.6 minutes per night. He's a threat to get hot at any time, but Van Gundy is clearly frustrated with his starting shooting guard's level of play. Richardson hasn't topped 24 minutes in either of the last two games.
