Thu Jun 29 2023 | 10:27 | Kelly Oubre Jr. "Unlikely" To Return To Charlotte |
Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer has written that it's "unlikely" the Charlotte Hornets will re-sign Kelly Oubre Jr. The 27-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent and Boone notes that the Hornets are overcrowded at the wing position, meaning there simply isn't room for Oubre Jr. Charlotte has the No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller in the mix now, Gordon Hayward needs minutes, Cody Martin and Bryce McGowens are competing for playing time, and Miles Bridges is set to return to the team after sitting out last season. Oubre Jr. had a career year in 2022-23 scoring 20.3 points per game and there should be a lot of teams after his signature in free agency. |

Mon Apr 10 2023 | 15:34 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Wants To Remain With Hornets |
Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. is set to become a free agent this season. Despite that, Oubre mentioned he'd like to remain with the Hornets going forward. However, he also said that he understands there's a business side to basketball. That means, if the money isn't there or the Hornets don't want him then he'll head elsewhere. Oubre is coming off a fairly strong season in Charlotte. He averaged a career-high 20.2 points. 5.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 48 games. The injuries kept him down at times, but Oubre was solid whenever he was able to get on the court. It'll be interesting to see if the Hornets want Oubre to be part of their future plans. |

Tue Apr 4 2023 | 00:27 | Kelly Oubre Jr. To Miss Tuesday's Game |
Charlotte Hornets guard/forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (shoulder) is questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Raptors. No surprise here, as Charlotte will also be without Terry Rozier (foot), Gordon Hayward (thumb), P.J. Washington (ankle), and potentially Dennis Smith Jr. (toe). As a result, guys like JT Thor, Kai Jones, Svi Mykhailiuk, Bryce McGowens, and Theo Maledon will see a bump in DFS interest. However, it's anyone's guess who will be the most productive, especially since none of them have been consistent fantasy options all year. |

Fri Mar 24 2023 | 15:29 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Uncertain For Friday |
Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (shoulder) is considered questionable for Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. Oubre was forced to exit early on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. He didn't return to the game and it appears the left shoulder issue is still bothering him. His absence would mean increased minutes for Gordon Hayward and Svi Mykhailiuk. Both could have streaming value with the Hornets already shorthanded. |

Thu Mar 23 2023 | 21:09 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Won't Return On Thursday |
Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (shoulder) has been ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. More bad news for the Hornets with Terry Rozier (foot) exiting early during this game. Now, Oubre leaves after 12 minutes due to a left shoulder strain. The Hornets don't have any reason to push their players back on the court considering they aren't in the playoff hunt. The absence of Oubre should mean more minutes for Bryce McGowens and Svi Mykhailiuk. Fantasy managers should check back after the game for another update on Oubre. |

Tue Mar 14 2023 | 15:51 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Expected To Play On Tuesday |
Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (back) was forced to miss their game on Sunday with back discomfort but is now listed as probable for their contest on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The good news is that the injury wasn't in his wrist that kept him out for a lot of this season. Hopefully, the one-game absence is all that is needed as he could be an important piece for fantasy managers since LaMelo Ball (ankle) is out for the season. He's currently ranked in the top 80 for per-game value in nine-category leagues. |

Sun Mar 12 2023 | 16:46 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Sidelined Against Cleveland |
Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (back) won't suit up for Sunday's clash with Cleveland. The 24-year-old scored a team-high 24 points in 36 minutes against the Utah Jazz on Saturday. However, he's now out with back discomfort, although he may just be getting the evening off. As a result, Dennis Smith Jr. will take Oubre's spot in the rotation. Smith has averaged 10.0 points, 6.8 assists, and 2.0 steals in 12 starts this season, so category managers could benefit from his presence in the lineup. Yet, his shooting percentages aren't the best, which is something to consider. |

LeBron James has dominated the National Basketball Association since entering the league straight from high school. He's won numerous awards and has led several teams to an NBA Championship. During the 2022-23 season, the Akron, Ohio, native continued to get it done, despite battling several nagging ailments along the way. However, James' latest issue, a right foot injury, is expected to keep him out indefinitely. Is there a chance he won't return? To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.  James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20  LeBron James' Season RecapDespite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Fri Feb 24 2023 | 15:04 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Probable To Return On Friday |
Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (hand) is expected to make his return from hand surgery on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 27-year-old hasn't played since December 29 and his original timetable did target a return right after the All-Star break so it looks like his recovery is right on time. With Terry Rozier (hand) also listed as probable, Oubre may come off of the bench for the first game back. There isn't any word about a minute restriction, so managers might want to proceed with caution when thinking about deploying him into lineups. |

After spraining his hand, and reaggravating it, the team will play it safer by ruling him out ahead of time. Oubre enjoyed a lot of added fantasy value at the beginning of the year when a lot of the team was injured. While he's sidelined, look for Gordon Hayward and Jalen McDaniels to both get some added usage and become solid streaming options. |

Thu Dec 29 2022 | 14:37 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Doubtful For Thursday's Action |
Charlotte Hornets guard/forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (hand) looks set to miss a second consecutive game Thursday against OKC, with the team listing him as doubtful for the contest. He sprained his left hand versus Portland at the start of the week, and with it being his shooting hand, Oubre Jr. was unable to take the court Tuesday against Golden State. With Oubre Jr. missing, Jalen McDaniels picked up a lot more minutes Tuesday and had a solid game with 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists. It's been a while since he was able to string two strong performances together, but managers should definitely keep an eye on McDaniels until Oubre Jr. is ready to return. |

Mon Dec 12 2022 | 07:47 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Bags 29 Points Versus Philadelphia |
Charlotte Hornets guard/forward Kelly Oubre Jr. had a 29-point outing against the Sixers on Sunday, shooting 11-for-23 from the field with a 3-for-8 effort from downtown in a 131-113 loss. He collected three rebounds as well with one assist, two steals and one block in 37 minutes. The 27-year-old has now scored 20-plus points in eight consecutive games. Injuries have hurt the team badly, but Oubre Jr. likely isn't complaining, as it's allowed him to play a bigger role. Through six games, he's even averaged 38.7 minutes a night this month. Oubre Jr. had only seven games in total with 20-plus points this season before starting his current scoring surge, so he's clearly playing his best basketball of the campaign right now. For the whole season, Oubre Jr. is averaging 20.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals. |

Fri Nov 25 2022 | 20:24 | Kelly Oubre Jr. Finishes With 28 Points |
Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has been asked to pick up the slack on offense with the team shorthanded. On Friday, Oubre knocked down 10-of-21 field goal attempts for 28 points with six rebounds and three steals in the win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. This was another nice outing by Oubre who has been playing better lately. The Hornets are without LaMelo Ball (ankle), which has forced Oubre to be more of a playmaker on offense. It's uncertain if this type of play will continue once Ball returns to the court. Until then, it looks like Oubre is going to be a reliable fantasy option. |

Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. cashed in a big night in the team's blowout win against the Atlanta Hawks. On Sunday night, he dropped 24 points, 10 rebounds and one steal on 9-for-20 shooting overall and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. He's going to continue to get starter's minutes with Miles Bridges not around, but fantasy managers shouldn't always expect this production when LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier return to the lineup. |
