Brand will start Sunday, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

The Hawks are resting all their starters Sunday, so Brand will get the start as a veteran. Even though he is starting, backup Pero Antic could end up getting more playing time than Brand in the frontcourt.

Brand is starting in the frontcourt with Paul Millsap and Al Horford getting the night off Saturday against the Hornets.

Brand should be avoided in virtually all formats. He doesn't have a consistent enough role. Even in daily games, it would be hard to trust Brand will produce enough to warrant paying even the minimum salary for him.

Brand is starting Monday's contest in Sacramento, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

With Al Horford getting the night off, Brand will enter the Hawks' starting lineup for the second time this season. In the previous nod on Feb. 28 against the Heat, Brand tallied seven points (3-7 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, and two assists in 29 minutes.

Brand moved into the starting lineup Saturday and logged 29 minutes on the floor, scoring seven points and pulling down eight rebounds against Miami.

Brand made a spot start at center after Al Horford did not travel with the team for Saturday's game. Outside of situations like Saturday, where Atlanta rested several starters, Brand won't be on the floor enough to make any sort of impact from a fantasy perspective.

Because coach Mike Budenholzer has opted to rest Al Horford and Pero Antic, Brand will receive the first chance at significant center reps over Mike Muscala. However, Brand has only logged time in eight of 27 games since the calendar flipped to 2015, averaging two points (on 41 percent shooting), 3.1 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 12 minutes.

Brand (personal) played 10 minutes in his first game back with the team following a death in the family. He grabbed two rebounds, one assist, and one block in Friday's matchup against the Hawks.

Brand is only on the radars of daily players or managers in the very deepest of leagues. For both, however, there was not much Friday's line that would give players optimism about Brand's immediate progress.

Brand was unavailable for Wednesday's game against Memphis, but he's back with the team and should be available for Friday's matchup with red-hot Detroit. That said, Brand's minutes have been sporadic, to say the least, this season, so he's not much of a fantasy consideration.

Brand has had a fruitful career, although it doesn't seem like he's going to have much of an impact in Atlanta this season. Pero Antic is currently being awarded all the minutes off the bench at center and is the better option moving forward.

Brand played 12 minutes in the Hawks regular season opener against the Raptors and scored two points, while grabbing one rebound.

Brand was the first big man to come off the bench for Atlanta, as they needed someone who could match up against Jonas Valanciunas. He should continue to be a key reserve behind Al Horford at the center, while also possibly playing in some reserve time at the power forward position. He probably won't score very many points this season, and could be limited in terms of fantasy value, but he'll still probably get around 10 minutes per game over the course of the next month and into the heart of the regular season.

Brand has signed a one-year, $2 million contract to remain with the Hawks, Yahoo! Sports reports.

Brand played 73 games, including 15 starts, for the Hawks last season and averaged 5.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 19.4 minutes. The 35-year-old former No. 1 overall pick will continue as a reserve forward for Atlanta this season, but it's clear Brand's fantasy value is at an all-time low since entering the league in 1999.

The Hawks and Knicks have both expressed interest in unrestricted free agent Elton Brand.

Brand confirmed in April that he hopes to return of his 16th NBA season, and it seems he'll get his wish with at least a few teams vying for his services. He averaged 5.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks last season and will fill a niche as a backup big man, but he's no longer an appealing fantasy option at age 35.

Antic's sore ankle has been an issue before and he could be looking at missing more time. Brand's minutes had been fairly low heading into tonight, so he could be somewhat fresh for the stretch run. Nothing in certain since Antic could be back as soon as Friday, but Brand is at least worth a look for owners needing a big man.

He played 30 minutes on Thursday and the Hawks might have just rested him tonight. Brand is no spring chicken anymore and fantasy owners should look elsewhere now that Pero Antic is back.

He was banging in the paint and has really done well in establishing position close to the basket. Brand used to be a guy who could beat guys from 15 feet away and he's done a nice job of adapting to his aging frame. With Pero Antic (ankle) out and day-to-day, Brand is worth a look for anyone needing a big man.

The Jazz are struggling badly and that partly explains the uptick in production here, but Brand needs to do something like this again to deserve consideration in 12-14 team formats.
