Sun Apr 29 201221:41Jason Collins anchors Hawks in Sunday's win
Jason Collins anchored the Hawks in Sunday's victory, posting six points, five rebounds and five hard fouls, while playing solid defense against Kevin Garnett.
As usual, Collins set bone-jarring screens and he was able to limit KG's speed advantage. Marvin Williams came off the Hawks' bench for just two points in 14 minutes, while rough-and-tumble Ivan Johnson added five rebounds and four fouls in 15 minutes. This was not a pretty game.

Fri Apr 20 201219:06Jason Collins will start on Friday against Cs
Jason Collins will get another start on Friday for the Hawks when they take on the Celtics.
With Zaza Pachulia again out, Collins will get the start, however he is the starter in name only, as Ivan Johnson is the one you will want to play. Johnson has gone for 17 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 1.3 spg over his last three and makes for a good play if needed.

Wed Apr 18 201213:39Jason Collins starts again for Zaza Pachulia
Jason Collins will start again on Wednesday with Zaza Pachulia (foot) still out.
Larry Drew still calls Pachulia day-to-day, but there is a chance he's done for the remainder of the season. Collins has started two straight games but has played just under 17 minutes combined. There is no fantasy upside with Collins. Ivan Johnson, who had 21 points and eight rebounds on Monday, is the play here.

Mon Mar 19 201202:17Jason Collins plays three minutes in return
Jason Collins (elbow) returned to action on Sunday, playing three minutes off the Hawks' bench.
Even with Al Horford out for the season, Collins and Erick Dampier (two minutes) don't even approach fantasy usefulness.

Wed Mar 14 201221:46Jason Collins (elbow) cleared for contact
Jason Collins, who has been out since Feb. 3 with an elbow injury, has been cleared to begin contact work, although there is still no timetable set for his return.

Sat Feb 18 201221:18Jason Collins (elbow) out 3-4 more weeks
An MRI on Jason Collins' (elbow) revealed a tear and he will miss another 3-4 weeks.
The Hawks' frontcourt can't catch a break, and they'll continue to lean heavily on Zaza Pachulia and Ivan Johnson, with cameos from Erick Dampier.

Thu Feb 16 201215:16Jason Collins still not close
Jason Collins (elbow) is still not close to a return.
Collins' elbow sprain is healing slower than expected. Over the last five games, Zaza Pachulia is playing a heavy 34.4 minutes per night.

Sat Feb 4 201211:11Jason Collins (elbow) out at least two weeks
Jason Collins (left elbow sprain) will miss at least two weeks, the Hawks announced on Saturday.
This is a tough loss for a Hawks team already without Al Hoford. Zaza Pachulia will get all the playing time he can handle, while unheralded and undersized Ivan Johnson continues to prove his worth in a bench role.

Thu Feb 2 201220:29Collins to the locker room with elbow injury
Jason Collins left Thursday's game against the Grizzlies during the first half after suffering an elbow injury and did not return.
Ivan Johnson is currently giving up tremendous size to Marc Gasol and it will be interesting to see how that goes. Johnson will get a few more minutes if Collins' injury is serious, but the jury is out on whether or not that will matter in fantasy leagues.

Fri Dec 16 201121:37Hawks Collins sits out scrimmage
Jason Collins skipped Friday's scrimmage in order to rest his knee.
We're not going to classify this as an injury, but will if he misses anymore time. Either way, he's not worth owning in fantasy.

Fri Dec 9 201120:09Collins officially signed with the Hawks
Center Jason Collins signed with the Hawks on Friday.
On the roster to defend Dwight Howard as much as anything else he does, Collins will provide no fantasy value whatsoever.

Thu Dec 8 201114:02Jason Collins expected to re-sign with Hawks
C Jason Collins is expected to re-sign with the Hawks on Friday.
He's nothing more than a role player and third-string center, so ignore him on draft night, as usual.

Mon Jun 27 201109:15Atlanta Hawks want to re-sign Jason Collins
General Manager Rick Sund said that the Hawks would like to re-sign Jason Collins.
Collins was critical in the Atlanta postseason victory over Orlando, and he should be a rather inexpensive option off the bench for the club if they can hash out a deal. Whether he's in the starting five or playing off of the bench, the veteran won't have any fantasy value. He averaged just 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game last season.

Sun Apr 24 201110:43Hawks C Jason Collins on pace to play Sunday
Hawks center Jason Collins (bruised tailbone) plans to play in Game 4 on Sunday.
"It feels better than it did last night," Collins said on Saturday. "During the game we will try to keep it warm."

Sat Apr 23 201113:52Jason Collins (tailbone) probable for Sunday
Jason Collins (bruised tailbone) missed Saturday's practice but remains probable for Game 4 on Sunday.
Collins health is essential for the Hawks against Dwight Howard, especially with Zaza Pachulia facing a possible suspension for his confrontation with Jason Richardson. Though a solid defender, the veteran center makes stat-heads queasy -- predictably, he's gathered a total of four points and four rebounds in 53 minutes this series.

Fri Apr 22 201123:54Jason Collins leaves Game 3 with back injury
Jason Collins did not play in the second half of Friday's Game 3 due to a bruised tailbone, and finished with two points and three rebounds in 17 minutes.
He got a pain-killing injection after the game, and his presence is critical to the Hawks' strategy of playing Dwight Howard straight up, thereby allowing Howard's questionable decision-making and foul shooting to characterize the game. Game 4 is on Sunday.

Sat Apr 16 201121:57Jason Collins (ankle) does his job vs. ORL
Designated body mass Jason Collins played in Saturday's Game 1 despite a tender ankle, and followed through on his job description of standing in between Dwight Howard and the basket.
Never mind the fact that he had just one point and one steal in 17.5 minutes before fouling out, and also disregard Dwight Howard's career playoff-high scoring night -- Collins did his job and will be a silent, but critical factor in the series. Marvin Williams is the odd man out in the rotation as a result, and played just 16.5 minutes on his way to six points, two steals, and little else.

Thu Apr 14 201109:43Collins expected to be fine for playoffs
Jason Collins (ankle) is expected to be fine for Game 1 of the Hawks' playoff series against the Magic.
Collins will actually be a key to the series as he does as good a job as anyone in the league on Dwight Howard.

Wed Apr 13 201119:07Jason Collins out again for Hawks
Jason Collins will miss Wednesday's finale with his sprained ankle.

Mon Apr 11 201111:53Jason Collins (ankle) to sit out vs. Heat
Jason Collins will miss Monday's game against the Heat as he continues to rest his sprained ankle.
Zaza Pachulia should get another start but is a less than appealing option. Both players are safe to ignore as the Hawks close out the regular season.
