Thu Apr 7 201113:38Collins out two games
Jason Collins (ankle) won't play until Monday's game against the Heat.
Look for Zaza Pachulia to get a couple starts, but the Hawks figure to go small often. Collins was only playing 12 minutes per game anyway.

Tue Apr 5 201120:34Collins leaves game with ankle injury
Jason Collins left Tuesday's game during the second quarter and did not return.
Zaza Pachulia started the second half in his place, but this isn't really moving the fantasy needle. Collins usually only plays significant minutes against teams with big centers.

Wed Mar 30 201109:57Collins to start again for Hawks
Coach Larry Drew said he will probably start Jason Collins in Wednesday's game against the Magic.
The Hawks' big lineup makes sense against Dwight Howard. Look for Kirk Hinrich, Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford and Collins to start. That means Marvin Williams would return to his bench role and get a big downgrade in fantasy.

Wed Mar 2 201112:19Collins to start for Hawks
Jason Collins will start in place of Josh Smith (knee) Wednesday.
The Hawks will go big to match up with Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer. Collins has started 22 games this year, averaging 2.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in those contests.

Tue Feb 15 201112:47Collins to start permanently?
Coach Larry Drew said that he's thinking about making Jason Collins a permanent member of his starting five.
Collins doesn't have any standalone value -- he's just there to keep Al Horford away from the bigger bodies. But this move would be a blow to Marvin Williams' borderline value. Williams averages 30.5 minutes as a starter and 24.0 as a reserve this season.

Wed Jan 26 201117:31Collins to start in big lineup Wednesday
Jason Collins will start as part of the Hawks big lineup on Wednesday.
The Hawks are going big to match up with the Bucks and Andrew Bogut, but Collins has no fantasy relevance whether starting or coming off the bench. He's averaging just 1.9 points per game in January. Marvin Williams will come off the bench in his return from a back injury, but is only slated for 20 minutes on Wednesday anyway.

Wed Jan 5 201104:53Hawks may use 'big lineup' going forward
Coach Larry Drew said that he is giving some thought to using his "big lineup," which starts Jason Collins at center and moves Marvin Williams to the bench, on a go-forward basis regardless of matchups.
We'll believe it when we see it, since teams with smaller players that play at a faster pace will have their way with the lumbering Collins, but it doesn't matter anyway. He plays just 19 minutes per game as a starter and that number will go way down against smaller teams.

Mon Dec 27 201018:47Jason Collins to start at center for Hawks
Jason Collins will start at center for the Hawks against the Bucks on Monday.
Larry Drew is obviously worried about Andrew Bogut, and this move will likely bring Marvin Williams off the bench. But this is clearly a matchup move, so owners of Marvin, or whoever is benched, should not panic.

Sat Dec 11 201001:56Collins starts at center vs. Spurs
Jason Collins got the start on Friday against Tim Duncan and the Spurs, and managed a season-high eight rebounds to go with two points on 1-of-4 shooting and two assists.
He's going to start whenever the Hawks field their big lineup, but keep in mind this is the first time all year he's done something remotely fantasy-worthy. It would be hard to recommend picking him up even in a 30-team league.
Tue Dec 7 201019:12Collins will start at C on Tuesday vs. Nets
Jason Collins started at center on Tuesday against Brook Lopez and the Nets, with Marvin Williams getting the start at shooting guard.
Collins isn't there for much else other defense and fouling, and it's interesting to see Williams start over Maurice Evans, if for any other reason than to know whose knee is hurting less. Williams needs a big performance tonight to salvage any fantasy value in wake of the Joe Johnson injury.
Mon Dec 6 201018:14Jason Collins starting against Dwight, Magic
Jason Collins will start for the Hawks at center on Friday against Dwight Howard and the Magic.
The rest of the starting five should be Mike Bibby, Josh Smith, Al Horford and either Marvin Williams or Mo Evans. The Hawks are going to try to keep their big names out of foul trouble against Howard, and you can expect for Josh Powell to be in line for decent run tonight, too.

Fri Nov 5 201019:28Collins to start at center, Horford to PF
Jason Collins will start at center on Friday against the Wolves, moving Al Horford to power forward and Josh Smith to small forward.
Collins is an extreme long-shot to have fantasy value, but it will be fun to see Horford play his more natural position. As enticing as the position change may be for Horford, we're not changing our expectations too much for any of them.

Jason Collins was signed by ATL on Saturday October 30.
Thu Jul 29 201015:54Hawks re-sign center Jason Collins
The Hawks have re-signed center Jason Collins.
As usual, Collins won't have fantasy value, but will give the Hawks a third center to use off the bench this season.

Mon Jul 19 201010:24Jason Collins likely to re=sign w/ Hawks
The Hawks are expected to re-sign veteran center Jason Collins, though nothing is imminent since Collins is currently in Europe.
Collins will alost certainly accept the veterans' minimum, worth $1.2 million. He averaged a microscopic 0.7 points and 0.4 rebounds in 24 games for the Hawks last year, and obciously has no fantasy value.

Fri Apr 9 201012:21Jason Collins out rest of regular season
Jason Collins is out for the rest of the regular season after suffering a foot injury Wednesday night in Detroit.
Collins has only seen token minutes anyway and shouldn't have any impact on the rotation.
