Tue Aug 16 2022 | 22:39 | Braves, Michael Harris II Closing In On Eight-Year Extension |
The Atlanta Braves and rookie outfielder Michael Harris II are closing in on an eight-year contract extension that is expected to be worth around $72 million. It's a team-friendly deal that would give Harris some security early in his career. The 21-year-old has been excellent for the Braves in his first 70 major league games in 2022, hitting .292/.330/.508 with an .838 OPS, 12 home runs, 39 RBI, 46 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 264 plate appearances. He hasn't really had a tough time at the plate in the majors despite coming up from Double-A Mississippi and skipping Triple-A altogether. The former third-round pick should now be rostered in all fantasy leagues now that he's earned an everyday role in Atlanta. |

Thu Aug 4 2022 | 16:06 | Michael Harris II Returns To The Lineup |
Atlanta Braves rookie outfielder Michael Harris II (foot) is back in the starting lineup on Thursday against the division-rival New York Mets and right-hander Carlos Carrasco, starting in center field and batting ninth in the batting order. Harris was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to a sore right foot, but the injury wasn't serious and he'll return to the outfield a day later. The 21-year-old youngster has been great for Atlanta in his first major league season in 2022, hitting .280/.320/.478 with nine home runs, 30 RBI, 35 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 207 at-bats. He's gone 9-for-34 (.265) with a homer, four RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base in 10 games since the All-Star break. DFS gamers should probably look elsewhere since he's in the nine-hole. |

Wed Aug 3 2022 | 11:35 | Michael Harris II Scratched From Lineup Wednesday |
Atlanta Braves rookie outfielder Michael Harris II (foot) has been scratched from the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. He's dealing with a sore right foot after being hit by a pitch on Tuesday night. Guillermo Heredia is replacing Harris in center field and will hit ninth in the batting order against Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler. Fantasy managers should consider Harris day-to-day for now. The 21-year-old has been great in his first 58 major league games, slashing .280/.320/.478 with nine homers, 30 RBI, 35 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. Heredia should be avoided in DFS, as he's gone just 8-for-63 (.127) with three home runs and six RBI as a bench bat for the Braves in 2022. |

Sat Jul 9 2022 | 13:51 | Michael Harris II Goes Off From Ninth Spot |
Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II has been a major spark plug for the club since he ascended to the major leagues, and Friday's performance was perhaps his finest. Harris II went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI, and three runs scored. He now has seven homers on the season to go with a .310/.342/.542 slash line, seven steals, 28 runs scored, and 24 RBI. Harris II is a must-add in all formats at this point, but he carries particular value in keeper and dynasty leagues. |

Sat May 28 2022 | 11:45 | Braves Add Prospect Michael Harris |
The Atlanta Braves selected the contract of outfielder Michael Harris from the minor leagues on Saturday after optioning outfielder Travis Demeritte to Triple-A Gwinnett. Harris, the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, got off to a great start at Double-A Mississippi this year and was hitting .305/.372/.506 with an .878 OPS, five home runs, 16 doubles, 33 RBI, 33 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 196 plate appearances over 43 games before his call-up. The 21-year-old has never played above Double-A, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect too much initially. But Harris will have a chance to play regularly in his first taste of major league action. The left-handed hitter makes a lot of hard contact, but he has a tendency to go outside the strike zone at times. |
