Fri Apr 15 202208:09Jonathan India Could Return On Saturday
Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India (hamstring) was removed from Thursday's game in the fifth inning. He was experiencing right hamstring tightness after running out an infield single. According to Reds manager David Bell, initial reports on the injury are "encouraging." Bell stated that there's a chance India could be back as soon as Saturday. He is set to be reevaluated on Friday and all signs point to him sitting out for Friday's game, even though he has yet to be officially ruled out. Brandon Drury took over at second base on Thursday after India departed. Drury could be in line to start in Friday's game.

Fri Apr 15 202200:45Jonathan India Departs Early With Tight Hamstring
Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India departed Thursday's contest with a tight hamstring after legging out an infield single in the fifth inning from Dodgers Stadium. The 25-year-old finished the game going 1-for-3 as he exited the field with a trainer after running through first base in what would be a tough loss for a club who has been without Tommy Pham and Nick Senzel in recent days. Look for an update on India's status before Friday's contest as he should be considered day-to-day until we hear more from team officials.

Thu Apr 14 202211:57Jonathan India Off To A Slow Start
Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India is off to a slow start in 2022, slashing just .192/.222/.231 through six games and 27 plate appearances. He has yet to homer or steal a base. With six strikeouts through the first week of the season, India's whiff rates are consistent from his breakout 2021 campaign, but his swing percentage and chase rate are both elevated thus far. Fantasy managers should not panic at this point, though India would be hard-pressed to keep up with his stellar 2021 numbers in a significantly diminished Reds offense after an offseason sell-off.

Sun Apr 3 202213:19Jonathan India Showing Power Bat This Spring
Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India has been slugging away so far this spring. Over 10 games and 35 plate appearances, he's slugging .536 with three solo home runs. The 25-year-old was a surprise in the power department during his rookie campaign last year. Across his minor league career, power was never his strong suit. In his last minor league season in 2019, he hit 11 home runs while slugging just .402 over 121 games split between High-A and Double-A. However, last year, over 150 games with the Reds, he hit 21 home runs and had a .459 slugging percentage. India is set for a full season as the Reds' leadoff hitter this year. Even though the team's lineup has been weakened this offseason, India should still be a strong source of run-scoring while also helping fantasy managers in home runs and stolen bases.
