Fri Dec 16 201117:07Bulls waive last year's starting SG Bogans
The Bulls waived Keith Bogans on Friday. Even though Bogans was the starting SG last season for the Bulls, he was expendable after Chicago signed Rip Hamilton earlier in the week.
While Bogans was very well-liked by the other Bulls players, the writing was on the wall after Rip Hamilton came into town and Ronnie Brewer finally healthy. His underwhelming 4.4 ppg also probably had a lot to do with it and will fight to make a team as a backup SG with the pre-season getting started on Friday.

Fri Dec 9 201115:57Keith Bogans attending Bulls' training camp
Keith Bogans is attending the Bulls training camp even though they have yet to pick up his option for this season.
This indicates that they will keep him around for $1.7 million, but they could let him walk if they find a suitable upgrade at SG. Bogans started all 82 games last year and provided solid defense and outside shooting, but Chicago wants more scoring from their two-guard.

Sun Nov 6 201120:59Bulls don't pick up Bogans' option yet
Due to the lockout, the Bulls haven't had to decide whether to exercise their $1.7 million option for Keith Bogans.
The option is fully unguaranteed, and it sounds like the deadline has been extended indefinitely, so Chicago isn't in any rush.

Wed Jun 1 201122:26Keith Bogans undergoes knee surgery
Keith Bogans had arthroscopic right knee surgery on Wednesday.
This was simply to clean up some wear and tear, and he should be fine heading into next season. The Bulls have until July 10 to decide whether to pick up his $1.7 million option, but he won't be worth drafting in most leagues either way.

Fri May 27 201109:56Bogans, Korver, Brewer too specialized at SG
Keith Bogans' $1.7 million salary for 2011-12 is unguaranteed, and the Bulls are likely to focus on signing a more versatile SG this summer.
Mike Prada of SB Nation sums it up nicely -- "All Bogans can do is shoot threes and defend. Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver would combine to form an awesome player, but on their own, they too are specialists." An upgrade seems critical, as the Bulls' lack of creative playmaking (beyond Derrick Rose) was cruelly exposed as the playoffs progressed.

Sun May 15 201114:01Keith Bogans (ankle) probable for Game 1
Bulls SG Keith Bogans (right ankle) is probable for Game 1 on Sunday.
Bogans is averaging under 20 minutes per game in the playoffs, part of a platoon at SG that includes Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer. He needs to knock down open 3-pointers and play steady defense vs. Dwyane Wade.

Tue Apr 26 201109:55Bulls won't be changing lineup now
Coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that the Bulls will not be changing their starting lineup for Tuesday's Game 5.
The Bulls have been getting off to exceptionally slow starts all series, but Thibodeau would be crazy to mess with his rotation now. The Bulls won 58 games in the regular season and Keith Bogans started all 82. Putting Kyle Korver in now would make no sense.

Wed Apr 6 201114:56Bogans skips practice, probable for Thursday
Keith Bogans (knee) was missing from practice on Wednesday, but coach Tom Thibodeau said he expects the veteran to play in Thursday's game.
Bogans has not had any real fantasy value this season at all, but if he is sidelined on Thursday it would possibly open up some more time for Kyle Korver.

Tue Mar 22 201102:55Bogans scores 15 points on Monday
Keith Bogans scored 15 points in the Bulls' 40-point win over the listless Kings on Monday, hitting 6-of-9 shots from the field (including three treys) with two rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 21 minutes.
He had a game like this last week, but honestly a high school kid would have had a shot at 15 points against the Kings tonight. Don't read into it, at all.

Wed Mar 16 201101:31Bogans hits season-high five threes
Keith Bogans made a rare splash on Tuesday with a season-high five 3-pointers, scoring 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting (all threes) with five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 29 minutes.
Take a picture of it, because this isn't going to happen all that often. He has no real value in fantasy leagues as a defensive specialist and 'glue-guy.'

Thu Dec 9 201020:08Bogans still starting . . . for now
After Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau started Ronnie Brewer in favor of Keith Bogans in the second half of Wednesday's game, there was speculation that Brewer would move into the starting lineup permanently, but Thibodeau says that will not be the case.
"Keith got hung up on a screen, and I thought he hurt his shoulder, that's why I took him out," Thibodeau explained. "I like the way the rotation's working. Keith has done a number of good things for us." Although Bogans might be doing some good things for the Bulls, he's doing little in the fantasy world. Owners would be better served seeing Brewer in the starting lineup with increased playing time, but that doesn't sound likely to happen anytime soon.

Mon Oct 25 201015:31Bogans named starting SG for Bulls
Keith Bogans has been named the starting shooting guard for the Bulls, beating out Ronnie Brewer, who still overcoming a hamstring injury.
Bogans is worth a look in deeper leagues, but it's possible the two players cancel out each other's value for most of the season.

Wed Oct 20 201022:04Bogans (back) starts Wednesday vs. TOR
Keith Bogans (back) started Wednesday's game against the Raptors, and finished with five points on 2-of-3 shooting (including a three) with no rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes.
Ronnie Brewer, his counterpart, played 24 minutes tonight but was equally ineffective with just five points on 2-of-4 shooting. Even if Bogans starts, which it looks like he will to start the year, he won't do enough to justify a draft pick even if you need threes.
Wed Oct 20 201013:35Bogans sits out workout with strained back
Keith Bogans (back) is a game-time decision for Wednesday's preseason game against the Raptors.
Bogans has been starting at shooting guard for Chicago, but could eventually give way to Ronnie Brewer, who would draw the start if Bogans is unable to play on Wednesday night. Neither is a particularly appealing option in fantasy leagues, but Brewer is the more likely of the two to establish long-term value.

Tue Oct 12 201012:15Keith Bogans to start at SG for the Bulls?
Beat writer John Jackson suggests that Keith Bogans has emerged as the favorite to start at shooting guard.
Don't go overboard with this news. Even if Bogans ends up starting -- which we don't really buy -- he'll still play less minutes than Ronnie Brewer and maybe even Kyle Korver. We're avoiding this situation in fantasy as the three will likely end up canceling each other out.

Wed Aug 11 201017:52Bulls sign SG Bogans to two-year deal
The Bulls signed veteran shooting guard Keith Bogans to a two-year deal on Wednesday.
The contract was previously reported to be worth $2.5 million, and those with knowledge of the deal claim the first year is guaranteed while the team holds the option for the second year. He'll play a few minutes off the bench and hit the occasional three, but that's about it.

Fri Aug 6 201018:29Bulls to sign Bogans to two-year deal
The Bulls have agreed to sign shooting guard Keith Bogans to a two-year, $2.5 million contract.
They needed a shooting guard and got one, but Bogans didn't do much for the Spurs last season. Perhaps the best news of this signing for Bulls fans is the fact it means Tracy McGrady should now officially be out of the mix.

Tue May 18 201009:16Bogans not likely to return
Free agent Keith Bogans is not likely to return to the Spurs next season, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
Bogans actually started 50 games for the Spurs this season, but averaged just 5.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in those starts. He'll try to latch on somewhere as a decent spot up 3-point shooter, but he offers very little in terms of playmaking.
