Thu Jan 12 201218:58Andris Biedrins to start on Thursday
Andris Biedrins (ankle) is expected to start Friday's game against the Magic.
With Kwame Brown out for at least three months, the Warriors are going to need Biedrins badly. The problem is that he's constantly in foul trouble, can't make free throws and disappears on offense. Biedrins is strictly a blocks/boards specialist.

Wed Jan 11 201217:37Andris Biedrins (ankle) likely to play Thurs.
Andris Biedrins (ankle) is expected to return against the Magic on Thursday.
Biedrins has started six games this season (averaging just 14 minutes, 3.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks), and for his first game back gets a matchup with Dwight Howard. Even with Kwame Brown (shoulder) potentially inactive Thursday, Biedrins doesn't appear to be close to making a significant impact.

Wed Jan 11 201215:24Biedrins (ankle) returns to practice on Wed.
Andris Biedrins (ankle) practiced on Wednesday.
It sounds like he could play Thursday vs. the Magic, which would be great news for Golden State. With Kwame Brown (shoulder) injured they'll have a tough time combating Dwight Howard.

Tue Jan 10 201221:08Andris Biedrins out again on Tuesday
Andris Biedrins will miss his third straight game with a sprained ankle on Tuesday.
This means more minutes for Kwame Brown, who should be monitored in leagues where there aren't many centers on the waiver wire.

Fri Jan 6 201221:30Biedrins out on Friday, Kwame to start
Andris Biedrins will not play on Friday against the Lakers, and Kwame Brown will start in his place.
Kwame will get Andrew Bynum, and while Kwame's body type is a good fit for Bynum's freakishness, this could get ugly. Look for the Warriors to get run by a Lakers squad that will own them underneath.

Fri Jan 6 201215:05Biedrins to be game time decision on Thursday
Andris Biedrins (ankle) has been announced as a game-time decision for Friday night vs. the Lakers.
Biedrins has only played more than 14 minutes in one game this season and is a part of a three-headed monster at center for the Warriors with Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown. If Biedrins sits out Friday, expect Udoh and Brown to see their minutes increase.

Thu Jan 5 201216:13Biedrins held out of practice on Thursday
Andris Biedrins did not practice on Thursday due to a mildly sprained right ankle.
Biedrins is considered day-to-day and Kwame Brown would slide in as the starting center for the Warriors if Biedrins were to miss some time. Brown had eight points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes in Golden State's game on Wednesday night.

Fri Dec 30 201107:20Andris Biedrins yet to attempt a free throw
Andris Biedrins has yet to attempt a free throw in his first three games.
Biedrins had 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in his debut, but now he's back to his disappointing ways. Biedrins shot an anemic 32.3 percent from the stripe last year, so it's not a surprise he's hesitant to draw a foul. Owners in need of rebounds and blocks can probably do better.

Thu Dec 29 201101:46Andris Biedrins quiet after hot start
Andris Biedrins continues to start at C for the Warriors, but has cooled off since his hot start, going for two points, seven rebounds and a block on Wednesday.
If you need blocks and boards you could probably do worse than Biedrins, but he's scored a total of just two points in his last two games, making him tough to put into starting fantasy lineups. Philly's Spencer Hawes looks like a much better center add at this point. Kwame Brown came off the bench for 10 points and three boards for the Warriors.

Tue Dec 27 201102:24Biedrins disappears against Bulls
Andris Biedrins had zero points, four rebounds, three steals and a block in Monday's win over the Bulls.
He lasted just 14 minutes and Kwame Brown played well, notching five points, six boards, four steals and zero blocks in 23 minutes. These two are likely to split minutes all season and if you picked up Biedrins, he can probably be dropped for the next hot free agent on your list. He's not only likely to be inconsistent, but is also an injury risk.

Mon Dec 26 201101:50Biedrins looks great for GSW in loss
Andris Biedrins started at center and hit all five of his shots for 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in Sunday's loss.
He looked much better than he has for two years and could be ready to stay healthy and contribute again for the Warriors. He's going to be a hot pick up and dropping a guy like Brendan Haywood (who looked terrible earlier on Sunday) seems to make sense.

Wed Dec 21 201102:12Andris Biedrins starts at C for Warriors
Andris Biedrins started at center for the Warriors Tuesday and had seven points, five rebounds, three steals and zero blocks in 18 minutes.

Mon Dec 12 201114:51Biedrins expected to rebound, block shots
Mark Jackson has asked Andris Biedrins to focus on reboudning and blocking shots this season.
Biedrins is hoping to make a come back and not shooting the ball could actually work in his favor. The Warriors are awaiting the Clippers' decision on DeAndre Jordan's offer sheet, but if he returns to the Clips, Biedrins and Ekpe Udoh will share time in the middle for GSW.

Fri Dec 2 201114:48Warriors looking to find long-term center
The Warriors hope to sign a free agent center and add to their depth at guard, according to GM Larry Riley.
Filling their center position is the priority -- Golden State wants to find a long-term answer, but could settle for a one- or two-year stopgap." That's basically a vote of no confidence in Andris Biedrins, who is under contract for two more years with an unlikely early termination option in 2013-14. With just $6 million in cap room, however, it's unlikely they'll land a top-flight free agent center.

Fri Dec 2 201111:47Warriors coach confident in Andris Biedrins
Warriors coach Mark Jackson is confident that center Andris Biedrins "can get it back" after two very disappointing seasons.
Biedrins has regressed since signing a massive contract with Golden State, averaging just five points per game, and the Warriors are still in the market for a long-term starting center. A big part of the problem is that his confidence was shattered, so hopefully a long offseason and a new, upbeat coach will help him return to form. He's someone to watch closely this preseason.

Sun Nov 27 201116:53Warriors not planning to amnesty Biedrins
The Golden State Warriors reportedly have no interest in using the amnesty provision on Andris Biedrins.
Many Golden State fans will clamor for the team to reconsider, but it doesn't sound like he's a candidate to be waived. The team is expected to pursue big men in free agency, so if the club lands the desired target, perhaps the Warriors will reconsider the reported stance on Biedrins.

Fri Aug 19 201121:05Report: Biedrins signs with Latvian team
Warriors center Andris Biedrins has signed with the Turkish club Anadolu Efes, who has already signed Sasha Vujacic and Ersan Ilyasova, and has been in pursuit of Hedo Turkoglu and Keyon Dooling.
We can't think of much downside here for Biedrins or Warriors fans. He's a mental wreck on the court right now, so shaking things up closer to his Latvian home could be the change he needs. When confident and aggressive he's a walking double-double, so we'll be watching to see if the light bulb turns on.
