Sun Sep 5 2010 | 17:33 | Patterson adds three-run blast to beat Rays |
Corey Patterson delivered a two-run homer in the Orioles' 8-7 win over the Rays on Sunday. |
Patterson also added a sacrifice fly for a third RBI in the contest. A sore neck and shoulder had been limiting Patterson earlier in the week, but he seems just fine now. With no youngsters pushing him for playing time, Patterson remains a cheap source of speed and moderate power for the final month of the season. |

Fri Jul 30 2010 | 00:10 | Patterson goes deep as O's win in extras |
Corey Patterson was 2-for-4 with a home run in the Orioles' 6-5 win over the Royals Thursday. |
Patterson's longball in the 8th inning tied the game at 5-5, and the O's went on to win in extra innings. He also added a stolen base. The outfielder's playing time has shrunk a bit since Luke Scott returned from the disabled list, but he's still getting a good number of at-bats and is a viable fantasy option due to his stolen base skills (he has 18 on the year and has been caught just three times). |

Sat Jul 10 2010 | 02:29 | Patterson hits GS, drives in five runs |
Corey Patterson was 4-for-5 with a game-tying grand slam and five RBI in an extra-inning win over the Rangers on Friday night. |
The O's were down to their final strike before Patterson hit a bomb to the second deck in right field to tie the game. It was the first grand slam of his career. The five RBI are the most Patterson has driven in during a game since he homered twice and drove in seven runs against the Mets on Opening Day in 2003. Very quietly, Patterson is batting .292/.340/.422 with five homers, 19 RBI and 16 stolen bases through 192 at-bats this season. He probably shouldn't be getting regular at-bats right now, but Felix Pie hasn't been able to stay on the field. |
Thu Jul 1 2010 | 11:03 | O's Patterson stays hot |
Corey Patterson is 10-for-21 (.476) with one home run, two RBI, two doubles, five runs scored and two stolen bases over the past six games. |
There's a certain stigma attached to Patterson, but he's now batting .286/.337/.409 with four homers, 12 stolen bases and 24 runs scored in 40 games with the O's this season. Felix Pie could cut into his playing time once he returns from the disabled list, but Patterson continues to be a cheap source for power and speed. |
Fri Jun 25 2010 | 23:28 | Patterson has three hits in win over Nats |
Corey Patterson was 3-for-4 with an RBI single and two stolen bases in a wild 7-6 win over the Nationals on Friday night. |
They can thank Cristian Guzman and Ian Desmond, but the Orioles came all the way back from a 6-0 deficit. Patterson was in the middle of it, including a game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Orioles would eventually win the game in the bottom of the ninth inning on an errant throw by Guzman on a double-play attempt. |

Corey Patterson scored all three Orioles runs Monday after reaching on a single, a walk and a HBP. |
He also swiped two bases. It won't last, but Patterson is off to an outstanding start as Baltimore's leadoff hitter. He'll be a mainstay at the top of the lineup for at least a couple of more weeks. |
Thu May 13 2010 | 15:33 | Orioles' Patterson homers, doubles |
Corey Patterson homered, doubled and ended Thursday's game by throwing out Seattle's Jack Wilson at home plate as the Orioles won 6-5. |
Patterson's second game in his return to the majors couldn't have gone any better. He's a ridiculous choice to bat leadoff for Baltimore, but there's always the chance that he'll get hot for a couple of weeks. He'll probably have some short-term value in AL-only leagues. |
Tue Apr 20 2010 | 17:18 | O's sign Corey Patterson to minors deal |
Orioles signed OF Corey Patterson to a minor league contract. |
Patterson opted out of his minor league contract with the Mariners last month. Along with Joey Gathright, Patterson will provide some organizational depth at Triple-A with Felix Pie on the mend with a ruptured latissimus dorsi muscle.
