The Texas Rangers placed left-hander Martin Perez on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with a fracture and laceration at the tip of his right thumb.Perez sustained the injury when he caught his thumb in the hinge section of a hotel room door on Thursday night in New York. He tore the nail off his thumb and a team trainer took him to a hospital where the nail was reattached and X-rays showed a small fracture. The DL move is retroactive to Friday.Perez, 26, is 4-6 with a 4.70 ERA in 15 starts with the Rangers this season. He becomes the fourth Rangers' starter currently on the disabled list, joining Andrew Cashner, A.J. Griffin and Cole Hamels.The Rangers also recalled infielder/outfielder Drew Robinson from Triple-A Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League to take the roster spot. He was in uniform for Saturday's game against the New York Yankees.Robinson is hitting .273 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs in 58 games with Round Rock this season. He has started at second base, at third base and in the outfield.This will be Robinson's third stint of the season with Texas. He opened the season with the club and went 0-for-2 in his major league debut on April 5 in his only action before being optioned to Round Rock on April 12. He was recalled on May 28 but returned to Triple-A the following day.
