Drew will be activated from the paternity list in advance of Thursday's game against the Astros, The Westchester Journal News reports.
Drew ended up missing two games to spend time with his wife and new child, but he'll rejoin the club as they go to Houston for a four game series. With Brendan Ryan placed on the disabled list in that time, Jose Pirela started at second base in each of the last two games, but Drew figures to reclaim that role once activated.

Drew was placed on the paternity list Tuesday.
Drew will miss at least one game and could sit out as many as three days while away from the team to spend time with his wife and new child. Brendan Ryan is the primary candidate to see a start or two in Drew's place, and the team also called up Jose Pirela from Triple-A to fill his roster spot.

Mon Jun 22 201507:58Drew clubbed two more home runs in Friday's loss to Tigers
Drew clubbed two more home runs in Friday's loss to the Tigers.
Drew continues to struggle at the plate, as his average sits at .188, but it's now his third multi-home run game of the month. His 11 long balls are second most second basemen, but he's provided little other value when he's kept the ball in the park.
Tue Jun 16 201515:53Drew not in lineup for Tuesday's game in Miami
Drew is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Miami, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Drew will sit against a right-handed pitcher for the first time in June, allowing Brendan Ryan to get a start at the keystone. Drew surprisingly has two multi-homer games this month, but his performance at the plate has otherwise been uninspiring all season.

For the second time in a week, Drew hit two home runs in a game, helping the Yankees defeat the Nationals.
Drew is hitting a paltry .175 in 177 at-bats, but he also now has nine home runs. The power is a nice boon for an infielder, but Drew is now hitting well below .200 for the second consecutive season.
Sun Jun 7 201510:51Drew out of lineup Sunday against Angels
Drew is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Drew will get the day off as manager Joe Girardi looks to limit the number of left-handed batters in his lineup against Angels southpaw C.J. Wilson. Jose Pirela will man the keystone while Drew rests.
Fri Jun 5 201523:43Drew 2-4 with pair of home runs and three RBI in Yankees win ove...
Drew was 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in the Yankees win over the Angels on Friday night.
It's been an all or nothing year for Drew who now has seven home runs and 19 RBI on the season to go with a horrendous .173 average. He has multiple position eligibility (he started this game at second and moved to third later), but his long stretches of unproductive at bats has cost him playing time and made him far less appealing in most fantasy formats.
Mon Jun 1 201518:34Drew back in lineup Monday against Mariners
Drew is back in the lineup Monday against the Mariners, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports.
Drew has been held out of the last two games on the heels of an 0-for-17 slump, but he'll return to action Monday looking to get back on track. Doing so will be much easier said than done as he faces off against Seattle starter Felix Hernandez.
Sun May 31 201514:31Drew not in lineup again Sunday against Athletics
Drew is not in the lineup again Sunday against the Athletics, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Drew will sit for a second straight day following a 0-for-17 stretch at the plate over the last five contests. Jose Pirela will start at second base in his place, and it could continue in that direction if Drew can't find a stick at the plate.
Sat May 30 201518:52Drew not in lineup Saturday against A's
Drew is not in the lineup Saturday against the A's, Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York reports.
Drew homered in Monday's win over Kansas City, but has gone 0-for-16 in four games since and will find himself on the bench Saturday in favor of Jose Pirela. The 32-year-old Drew is making it difficult for manager Joe Girardi to justify starting him on near-everyday basis, but Pirela hasn't done much with his opportunities to this point.
Mon May 25 201518:56Drew 1-5 with home runs and three RBI in Monday's 14-1 win over ...
Drew went 1-for-5 with a home runs and three RBI in Monday's 14-1 win over the Royals.
The home run was Drew's fifth of the year but his first since Apr. 21. He's still batting .176/.250/.338 for the season, but Drew has started six of the last seven games at second base and Jose Pirela isn't making a strong case for playing time (.433 OPS).
Sun May 24 201516:26Drew out of lineup for Sunday's game against Rangers
Drew is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
Drew went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Saturday, dropping his average to .177. It doesn't appear Drew's shortcomings with the bat will cost him his regular role just yet, but Jose Pirela will get the nod at second base Sunday.
Sun May 17 201511:22Drew 2-4 with double in Saturday's win over Royals
Drew went 2-for-4 with a double in Saturday's win over the Royals.
The Yankees still seem committed to giving Drew regular playing time, but he'll have to turn in more outings like Saturday's two-hit effort to stay in the lineup throughout the season. After seemingly getting on a roll in the beginning of May, he's now hitting just .191 for the month and .183 on the season.
Thu May 14 201515:59Drew not in lineup Thursday against Rays
Drew is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rays, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Drew will take a seat Thursday after starting the last five games. Jose Pirela takes over at second base, while Chase Headley re-enters the lineup at third.
Fri May 8 201516:00Drew out of lineup Friday
Drew is out of the lineup Friday.
As with 2014, he is once again struggling to get his average to the Mendoza Line in 2015, as he currently sits at .169. The Yankees have got to be losing patience with his lack of production at this point, so Friday's starter, Jose Pirela, and minor leaguer Rob Refsnyder could be more appealing options over the rest of the season.
Fri May 8 201510:36Drew 1-3 with walk and strikeout in Thursday's win over Orioles
Drew went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in Thursday's win over the Orioles.
When they re-signed him over the offseason, the Yankees were hopeful Drew's disappointing 2014 campaign was due to his late start to the season and missing spring training, but to this point he's struggled just as much at the plate in 2015 as he has a slash line of just .169/.268/.361. He's been sitting somewhat regularly against left-handed pitching, but righties have actually posed the bigger problem for Drew this year as he's hitting just .129 against them. With Jose Pirela activated off the DL and with the major league team, it's possible Drew may start to lose even more playing time at second base if he doesn't start hitting.
Wed Apr 29 201510:20Drew not in lineup for Wednesday's game against Rays
Drew is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
As he regularly does, Drew will be held out with the Yankees facing a left-handed starter Wednesday. Gregorio Petit will get the start at second base against the Rays and Drew Smyly.
Wed Apr 22 201516:16Drew not in lineup Wednesday against Tigers
Drew is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
While not in a strict platoon, Gregorio Petit has gotten regular starts against left-handers, so Drew will get the day off to make room in the lineup. Petit will start at second, batting eighth against southpaw David Price.
