Ginobili will be held out of Saturday's game to rest.

The Spurs have gone to triple overtime in their last two games, so Tim Duncan is also being held out Saturday to rest. With the Spurs four best players out of the lineup, Danny Green, Marco Belinelli and Kyle Anderson should all see plenty of time on the wing Saturday.

Ginobili contributed 21 points (7-20 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-7 FT), eight rebounds and eight assists in 41 minutes during the Spurs' 117-116 loss versus the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

As long as Tony Parker (hamstring) is out Ginobili will likely continue to hold down more ball-handling and play-making duties. The Grizzlies were missing their best perimeter defender in Tony Allen (eye), but Ginobili has been having an impressive season with Patty Mills (shoulder) yet to make his season debut. Once Parker and Mills are able to return Ginobili's stats could suffer some, but continue to ride him while he's hot.

Ginobili will be held out Monday against Portland due to a lower back contusion.

Ginobili apparently suffered the injury during Sunday's win over Denver, in which he had 15 points and six assists in 24 minutes. On the second half of a back-to-back, it's quite possible he's being held out as a precaution more than anything else.

Ginobili is averaging 12.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.4 three-pointers made for the season. While his averages don't pop off the charts, he's still a solid option in standard leagues, as he's a major part of the Spurs' offense, and he'll continue to play well as log as he's healthy.

Ginobili returned Friday from a night of rest Wednesday, scoring 18 points, but making just three of his eight attempts from beyond the arc.

On the night Ginobili shot 6-for-16, and turned the ball over four times in 31 minutes. The veteran, like Tony Parker and Tim Duncan, didn't play Wednesday against the Knicks. Expect Ginobili to continue to take games off from time to time, as we've come to expect from the Spurs.

Ginobili was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right leg after last season's championship run. He was ruled out from participating in the FIBA World Cup this summer, as the Spurs wanted him to spend the offseason recovering in order to be ready for the 2014-15 season. The leg injury was never thought to be serious enough to limit Ginobili in training camp, so it's not surprising he's out the court and looking healthy already.
